@MacWillyFortunes Troy is saying that "That's gay" was a "black" thing to say, not a "homophobic" one. The black community is stereotypically seen as having a bit of a homophobic viewpoint toward gays. Jeff then called him out by saying that was racist.
@Conn Benn the joke isn't about grammar at all. "That's black" was said in response to "that's homophobic" it's pretty clear what the implication is there
@Conn Benn that's not joke because it doesn't follow the joke of the entirety of the conversation. Regardless of whether or not it's true, "black culture" is stereotypically perceived to be homophobic which is the joke here. If it was "homophobic is just another funny thing to say" then there'd also be no sense in returning to "racist" If what you're saying is the case then Troy saying "damn" wouldn't make sense. He says it after losing moral high ground. It's a very surface level joke, the only one looking too deep is you trying to actively avoid the punchline
@Conn Benn as someone who is black, I can say with a fair degree of certainty that the stereotype is part of why the joke is so funny. It's sorta funny going to a majority white Catholic church and seeing them rarely mention or react to homosexuality and seeing the way an all black pentecostal congregation reacts, just for example
@@Ojthemighty It really is, the idea of people being scared of other people being gay is nonexistent. People dont fear gay people, they just dont wana hear gay shit lol.
@FascistLetterOpener Yeah this scene, the scene where batman rescues the beast-master and the cowboy from the collapsing fort, and the line "I'm not having a conversation with someone who emerges from a bush". Those three things put together won me over big-time. I'm a fanatic for this show.
Probably ome of the best decisions this show made was turning Troy from a jock who was afraid he couldn't live up to his own hype, to just a massive dork.
its all a full circule of lies and deception we just dont see it that easly. also the dam conversation took a whole circule, what are the odds on that XD
@hmcomsat I think what they're trying to say is that some (most) black people tend to be homophobic. As in that's a black person normal response??? (And I'm not trying be discriminatory or anything. I'm black and I'm defenitely not homophobic) At least that's the way I interpreted it. And in response Jeff is saying that's a "racist" comment.
No he's saying that Troy trying to play off homophobia because it's "black", is racist since he's implying all black people are homophobic so it's okay. It's not because it's not true.

I love this funny call and response but I don't understand why Troy makes this connection:
"That's Homophobic" => "That's Black"
Apparently black culture is commonly associated/stereotyped with homophobia, so Troy said homophobia was a black characteristic.
Homophobia is a nonsense word
@@Ojthemighty It really is, the idea of people being scared of other people being gay is nonexistent. People dont fear gay people, they just dont wana hear gay shit lol.
I think it’s because Troy thinks it’s “black” to call out someone else’s perceived prejudice
