This interview with Mr. Abdul Majeed Ansari provides an excellent source of information on events related to independence of Pakistan in 1947. He has been blessed with great memory and has covered minute details of independence with amazing accuracy.
Point regarding attacks on Muslims erupted in March, 1947 long before independence on 14 August, 47 has also been corroborated by several other viewers of this channel both from Indian and Pakistani sides of Punjab.
Interview is an important addition and authentic source for those in search of true account of history from those who not only experienced independence but also endured consequent migration.
Lastly, many thanks to the interviewer and this channel management for recording many such valuable interviews of previously missing stories related to Indo-Pak history.

The interview is yet one among many heart touching real life stories of the events during the partition of 1947, that were previously thought hard to come by. According to my knowledge the village Kakka Karyala of distt Tarn Taran, whom this story is about, was never covered before in the forum. I am very confident that someone among those whose names have been mentioned in this account, or their kin, will come across this, will recall & cherish their memories. M.B.high school Mandi wala tarn taran after PARTITION on changed to govt High senior secondary School Taran Taran. We we joined M.B School after primary pass Same Mr Bihari Lal was the Head Master. After 6-7 month he retired. BIG BOHAR TREE IS STILL ALIVE PRESENT.

Our family came from Tarantarun ,PALASOR,Bharowal. Our Father CH.IMDAD HUSSAIN Khan son of Khansahab Ch.Fazal Hussain(honorary Magistrate) .Father's Nankay were in Bharowal ,His cousins. Ch.Akram Ali ran for MLA for Muslim League and other cousin Ch.Fakir Hussain ran for MLA Congress party from MithaManjha Punjab. Father Sahab went to Khalsa school(college now) one of his class fellow mr.Partab Singh Gill(became police officer and sons did too , He wrote letter but they couldn't meet due to Deaths. OUR ELDERS told us that our Family donated land Taran Taran TALAB or Guru Arjan Dav school land and they shared proceeds from MAASIA MALA Till we left for PAKISTAN. Abdul Majeed Sandhu Sahib has mentioned Chaudhry Akram Ali Khan and Chaudhry Faqir Hussain Khan, Rajputs from Bharowal in Tehsil Khadur Sahib, Tarn Taran District. The Muslim Rajputs of Bharowal were famous and had immense political influence in the Tarn Taran area before the partition of Punjab in 1947.
Chaudhry Faqir Hussain Khan was elected MLA from Tarn Taran rural seat in elections of Punjab Legislative Assembly that remained in sessions from April 1937 to March 1946.
The last central and provincial general elections in British India were announced by Lord Wavell in September 1945 and held from December 1945 to January 1946. In Punjab the elections were held in December 1945. For the Tarn Taran rural seat, Chaudhry Akram Ali Khan was the Muslim League candidate and he defeated Chaudhry Faqir Hussain Khan. The new Punjab Legislative Assembly started its sessions in March 1946 . Chaudhry Akram Ali Khan was a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly from Tarn Taran when the partition of Punjab occurred in 1947. After partition, Chaudhry Akram Ali Khan settled in Kamahan village which is not far from Shadab Colony where Majeed Sahib resides. The lands of Kamahan village are now residential colonies of Lahore Cantonment Board and Lahore Metropolitan Corporation. Chaudhry Akram Ali Khan remained with Muslim League all his life and died in very old age.

"Teej" refers to the "third" day that falls every month after the new moon (Amavasya), and the third day after the full moon night of every month.The monsoon festivals of Teej include Haryali Teej, Kajari Teej and Hartalika Teej.
Teej festivals are traditionally observed by women to celebrate the monsoons, on the third day of the Indian month of Shravan, and on the third days of the waning and waxing moon of the Indian month of Bhadrapada . Women also pray to goddess Parvati seeking the wellness of their husband, children and their own self.
Teej is known as teeyan in Punjab and is seen as a seasonal festival which is dedicated to the onset of the monsoon. The festival is celebrated by women of all faiths, and lasts from the third day of the bright half of the lunar month of Sawan as per the Punjabi calendar to the full moon of Sawan (about 13 days). Teeyan involves women getting together and performing Gidda, married women visiting their families and receiving gifts. It is also traditional for women to ride on swings.
Fairs are organised in Schools and Colleges where dance competitions are held
