M8 you're by no doubt one of the most liked junkies I've ever seen on you tube. I must say that you were right about saving your copper for a bigger payday. As I have learned through my 20 plus years of scrapping metal is this , if I have it and don't need the money sit on it, if I need the money sell it.
Keep up the good work . God bless y'all.

Love the knowledge and the delivery as always! Steel isn't my meal but as I've mentioned (I don't expect you to remember MY messages above all others, but I don't understand that because it is ME lol) I work at a plumbing supply yard so I eat fat on the non ferry. But it is good to know, just so I sound more knowledgeable at scrap yard. If you know what I mean. Keep doing the thing Thub from Sacramento, CA USA.

I put all my N/B/W/S into a coffee can and when it gets full, it gets dumped into a microwave shell or toaster oven, some other steel/shred piece I was taking to the scrapyard and will hold them. And yes, a coffee can full is pretty heavy!

Hey thubprint, another great vid. I just got into scrapping part time last year and looking forward to doing more this yer. I've learned so much from watching your vids. I like your attitude and style. Love your ending as well in your vids. I do have to let you know what i do here in Wpg. We like having a lot of fires in our fire pit and when we dont have logs, we burn pallets. When i clean the fire pit, I take the poker and attach a nice chuck of magnet to it. Last year, I've waited till the fire pit was full, but this year however, I go over the ashes with the magnet every time and throw what i pick up into an old tool box and bring that in as scrap. It only takes a few mins (about 5). Just another idea to throw into the mix. Take care and stay safe out there while doin the thing :-)

Took a load of scrap in yesterday. Nothing major, but breaking it down in to types gave me the highest yield. 360 lbs of Sheet Iron $31.00. 350 lbs of none ferrous $71.00 (US price) after the yards $2.00 service charge for cash I walked away with $100.00 for an hours worth of work. For 710 lbs of scrap.Wish I could do this as a daily job. It is easy money.

Wonderful content, as always. I'm curious if any yards near you have a different price for "clean light iron" or "P&G". there's a couple yards near me that pay a premium for 'bailable' steel like stripped light fixtures, shelving, ductwork, (clean paint cans!) or electric baseboard covers. Basically, steel without other contaminants that's small enough to fit in, and thin enough to be crushed by, a bailer. One yard was paying $0.09/lb for shred but $0.15/lb for "clean light iron".

Where I live, 3.5 Kg of rough iron with buy 1 litre of gasoline. These metal prices are here to stay because of venture capital. If you invest in a computer app you get your money back in a year or so. Invest in a new mine, you may not get any money back after ten years.
