Hey corbin, I am wondering what your thoughts were on this and how it impacts the potential entry for ai saas startups. Do you think it has become even harder to create an ai saas startup because of all of these updates. For instance, your pdf series on using zapier and chat gpt’s api as a potential saas, has this become somewhat obsolete? (Now that open ai has a pdf analyzer). what can we do to leverage these new updates to benefit our saas startups? And how can we do this without becoming outcompete by open ai in the future with their store.l? I’m thinking it all comes down to niching down even more, however your thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, OpenAI has a lot of capabilities that could have been potential AI SaaS ideas. However, the way I want you to think about it is: What value brings the end user the least amount of pain? So, for your example of how ChatGPT can now analyze PDFs, yes, but the user still needs to go to the website and have a discourse with ChatGPT for the end conversion of the data they want from the PDF. Alternatively, an AI SaaS could be as simple as dragging in the same PDF and having it do all that automatically, as it has been fine-tuned by the user to handle certain PDFs. AI SaaS startups should focus on automating and formatting data more effectively. Most of all, don't start a startup that is just a chatbot!
