Ess can match any Kako bid lol why would they take there own player
North needs KPP. Now we have Will Dawson from last year who could play either key DEF/FWD so North selecting Luke Trainor would be a good fit IF we were sold on taking him that early. I'd lean towards North wanting to split pick 2 as obtaining Trainor could be as early as pick 6-8 and if North were so inclined they could also look to select a Armstrong, Shanahan or Whitlock who any of the 3 could slide to North's next pick.
I would go Armstrong he will push into the top 5 by the end of the year

WC fans, don't panic and start throwing up crazy trade/draft ideas, look beyond what you see. Already Jack Williams is showing benefit of getting consistent games as is Maric to a degree. H Edwards, Burgiel, Hall, Johnston, Dewar, Archer Reid, Hewett, Bazzo, Culley, Brockman, Rawlinson...there's still some blokes yet to get a real run at it and you never know what you'll get once they've slowly got games into them. Just let Hough be your role model in that regard. Also, any team in 2025 that has forward half options of Allen, Waterman, J.Williams, B.Williams Long, Hewett, Cripps, Ryan, Maric, Archer Reid, Brockman, Dewar and backhalf options of Barrass, McGovern, H.Edwards, Bazzo, Ginbey, Hunt, Hough, Cole, Duggan will give the new coach more than enough to start with. I am telling you...and I've been an Eagle like forever...., that we are just two good midfielders and some general improvement away from being more than competitive....Also last bit, a new coach could also do radical things like play Chesser and/or Culley half back - back pocket (Culley could replace Witherden I reckon). Let's explore and 'Geelong' the heck out of this team. Ok, thats enough waffle....

Distinct lack of WA talent, hoping that West Coast are just keeping a lid on them.
West Coast need positions across the board at the moment, with the exception of defence this year.
Idk about next years draft, but it doesn’t look to have much depth if I was Essendon I’d be trading out of this years draft into this draft one.
Trade Examples for Essendon
Swans: F1-P11 for 18 & 56
Suns: F1-P11 for 27, 33& 69
Dockers: F1-P11 for 14 & 60
Tigers to if the Bolton, Rioli and Baker trades all happened they’d be perfect to trade any number of pick combos!
I don’t see the suns using 2 1st I don’t think they need it and will either trade it for a future 1st or to another team most draft gurus have Essendon trading up the draft to get in front of the Kako bid so it’s not wasted matching!
They’ll trade there 1st and a future pick I’m hoping they do and pick one of Lalor, Allen, Reid, Berry, Gross, Lindsay and Shanahan, but Armstrong is the one I want them to get.
Hey buddy, been thinking about it I reckon you could benefit from putting the players from Victoria into two subcategories Vic metro and country (ie. VIC M and VIC C)
Also Essendon don’t need to take kako because the afl changed the rules. They can match a bid anywhere.
One thing wc could do is trade our top pick to gold coast for their 2 picks. That gets gold coast in front of the, likely early, lombard bid and gives us 2 top 10s to charge up our rebuild. Get bo allen or reid and the best tall available. Or split one of those picks for later 1st round and a second maybe, trade that first rounder for baker, assuming he still wants to come to us.
As a Freo fan, i'd love to draft Jaga Smith. These picks are perfect for us.

Lack of WA talent for freos 3 first round pics, id expect at least 2 1st rounders to be used in trades for established WA players like mcdonald or bolton.

Gday Jesse, video suggestion: comparison/analysis of the bottom out of the Brisbane lions compared with the eagles now to give an indication of the time it may take to get out of this shit, and what the next coach may need to do with the list. We need freo to pay way overs for Bolton or Baker and offer pick 7 and 10. We then trade pick 2 for 7 and 10 and they get pick 1 and 2. We then take M.Reid or similar and Bo Allen at 10

Very interesting, but as a Freo man, I’m wondering about Freo using its draft position to get some useful trades. I’d love to see Shai Bolton return home - he’d be a great shoo in for Sonny Walters and is ready to go. Is this a rumour, or just wishful thinking? And while I’m here, the two jokers who sit behind me at Optus reckon Sean Darcy is carrying a bit too much weight and is being sponsored by Mrs Macs. Wouldn’t be to sad about that either, I think we will prioritise midfielders we have young Schoenmaker & Caminiti as possible back up CHB’s in development. Time will tell .

I hate to say it as a WC fan but I think our best bet is to offer up Reid as trade bait and ask for a minimum of 2 first rounders for him. We have no one else worth anything and I can't see him sticking around anyway. We need to either hit the draft hard or trade for experienced players but with our current draft hand we can't do much.

@biggi3st3v3 lol I saw that and laughed my head off. Said he was best in the U18s and he was average and that's being kind. Twomey rates him 9th and I will take Cal over ESPN any day of the week. I'm not saying he won't be good but there are far better options at this pick.for WC.
