    My 1st RC was a Kyosho Pegasus. Still have it. Great memories.

    This was my first RC car back in 85..My god does this bring back memories...Biggest problems I remember were the dogbones would always fall out and the dang steering tie rods would pop off after hitting the wall several times they would round out...That is so cool I get to see it again like it was brand new again...Will be googling the Big Brute..The Ultima and finally the RC10 was my last car in the RC world..

    I wish Kyosho would Re release the Pegasus but update it with proper hinges and modernize it. Nice resto Mick.

      @RCHobbyShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be nice if they did. The Cosmo has hinge pin style setup (on the front at least), they could re-release the Pegasus, Icarus and Cosmo all on the same chassis. I'd be happy with that. Thanks Jacen. 👍

    This was my first RC car when I was 13 in 1985. My neighbor had a Grasshopper. I was going to buy one of those, but the lady at the hobby store talked me into a Pegasus. It cost roughly the same, but had the 540 motor instead of the 380. At 13, the idea of having something faster than my neighbor was appealing, to say the least. And it was fun to beat him until I realized I would get about 8 minutes of run time on a charge, whereas he got about 15-20. Other than that, it was a great first car. I did have a nuclear meltdown of the stock speed controller; luckily the car didn’t go up in flames. Only other issue was the front steering ball joints started popping out all the time, and not just when you hit something. Great memories with that car, and I’d happily buy another if Kyosho brings it back as a retro offering!

    Mick this has come up a treat , just like a new build if you where not aware its a resto, awesome lookers they where back in the day and never to many around either only few had these , as they where pretty expensive in 1986 i believe great video as always Mate Most Enjoyable :-))

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Andrew. I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Yeah I think their price was either equal to or a tad higher than the Hornet back in the day. Of course being a beginners buggy, people just grabbed a Grasshopper instead, or a Hornet because it had the rear oil shocks. Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. 👍

    Awesome job Mick looks fantastic!
    I see now how the suspension works on the Pegasus it really is quite different! I'm surprised kyosho managed to make the plastic last flexing like that! But doesn't seem to be a problem! Great vid and l want one of these even more now 😆
    Looking forward to the running vid mate 👍

      Yeah back in the day when I first saw the flexible arms I thought they'd only last 5 minutes, yet here we are over 30 years later and they're still good.
      I still think they're a pretty cool buggy, even if handling it's great.
      Hoping to give it a run real soon. I kinda have a backlog of cars to run now. 😂👍

      @@RCHobbyShed Yeah respect to Kyosho they got it right with the type of plastic used and the way they executed the plastic suspension parts! I agree to Mick l am a big Pegasus fan there is sometimes about it that grabs my interest! Sometimes the simple stuff can be the more alluring stuff! The Grasshopper has proven that!

They handle badly and all that but there is something about them. As you say, like the Grasshopper. Couldn't agree more!
      Will be smashing out some run videos very soon! 😁

    Looks incredible. I love your driver i havent painted mine yet but ill get to it one day. I laughed when u said the ball end wont pop out of the arm cause i had mine on the track last night and it kept happening to one side of the front. Ill have to swap out the holder with another one or make like a metal one so it dont fall out on a race night.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Harry! When you paint your driver, you might wanna make to visor smaller than mine. Mine looks like a spaceman lol.
      Yeah, I used to have the same ball popping issues with my Boomerangs and stuff, similar setup. They're fine if you keep your ball holders fresh! None of that sounds quite right but you get the idea 😂.
      Nothin worse than your balls popping out in front of everyone on race night 🤣.

    Creme Developer = peroxide for those wondering ;)

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct Davey, it is peroxide, but if I just said peroxide people might run out and buy plain old peroxide that is watery and doesn't coat the parts without using a huge bottle and submerging parts or it or by diluting it. Creme Developer is much thicker 👍
