1) This journey, even 10 years later, is totally worth it!
2) Very scary. Vaas was written and performed so well, that he is probably the gold standard for Ubisoft. His performance is beyond intriguing and eveeytime he appears, you're almost hypnotized.
4) Yes, amongst many other animals (even that aren't trying to kill you) in order to survive and craft upgrades.
If you haven't already you should look into "The Far Cry Experience" which is a prequel series of videos featuring Vaas making videos for the internet right before Jason and his friends arrive on the island. There's even an Easter Egg for the series in the game that triggers an achievement.
Tips:
1:04:18 - Don't buy guns unless you feel you have to because, aside from signature weapons you'll get them for free as you climb radio towers, save your money for body armor (always buy it if you don't already have it) and weapon accessories like silencers and sights.
- Always be on the lookout for animals on the map the correspond to available upgrades, especially Rucksack upgrades because the more space you have in your inventory the better.
- In relation to above, it's also important to progress those crafting goals whenever possible because you can't get later upgrades until you've crafted the earlier ones. Just be sure not to make *too* much progress without saving by fast-traveling to a safehouse because some animals are more dangerous to hunt than others and you don't want to lose your crafting progress. Which leads into the next tip:
- Make a note of hunting missions stamped with the word "Rare" on them, but *DON'T* undertake them yet. This is because their hides are used to make the final upgrade for a given category... but since these missions aren't replayable, the resource will be stuck in your pack until you can make the upgrade, so wait until you need the hide and *then* do the mission unless your rucksack is big enough that a filled space or two doesn't matter.
- The camera can mark both people and animals to make them easier to track.
- 1:26:06 - This syringe is a godsend. It's *fantastic* for identifying animals in the environment so that you can mark them and hunt them down for crafting resources.
- Similar to the hunting syringe mentioned above, keep one swimming syringe on you at all times when possible. I believe there's a syringe recipe that makes you swim faster and hold your breath for longer, which I believe is necessary for certain collectibles, makes it faster to travel in water if you don't have a watercraft nearby, and makes diving for shark skins less risky.
- Smoke on the horizon means pirate outpost, steer clear if you're low on supplies. Taking them out however will mean encountering fewer pirates on the road, a new fast travel point, and new potential missions including hunting missions. Use the aforementioned camera to scope out outposts so that you know where enemies, alarms, and caged animals are. (Said caged animals can sometimes help you by attacking them without raising the alert if you silently shoot them open)
- Never rely on the reticule, your accuracy is shit when not aiming down the sights.
- The quick-sell button at the bottom-right when you have junk items that have no use other than selling will instantly get rid of all those items without having to click on them one at a time (though some have amusing text if you care to read them)
- Don't be afraid to sell common leaves for extra cash if you're full up on syringes, especially if your pack is getting full.
- White Leaves are used in special OP crafting recipes that are usually unlocked via collectibles. So while they're not as common as others, they're also useless unless you plan to use them with a given recipe, so if you don't have a recipe, sell them.
- Animal skins can sell for good cash, depending on how effectively you can take them down, it can be worth hunting them just to sell their hides. Though I'd wait until you have at least one other weapon slot before attempting that.
Those dogs aren't normal ones like the ones you pet, they're fighter dogs , even multiple times more dangerous than the wild ones. Kill to survive
Villain experience needs to be reserved for your own player experience, nothing to say. Vass isn't the only freak on the island, so I won't spoil surprise. I don't love any villain in this game, they make me angry bull. That's all I know about villains in this game.
Keep upgrading all sorts of pouch, keep enough healing potions, work on your aiming, be stealthy in highly defended areas, don't freak out if things go south (only retreat), get used to button mapping key controls, upgrade the hero skills as much as you can. All are okay then. You need to win the fear / whatever is scary

09:00 for anyone who never noticed this. The room is filled with suitcases and passports of the tourists the pirates kidnapped and murdered. Thats why the music is tensing up and Jason is like “oh fuck fuck fuck”

this was my first Far Cry game too on the Xbox 360 when i was about 14 or 15. played it religiously for years! can’t wait to see you dive into these games, the villains are some of the best ones in any game series.
So Vass didn't exist in pre-production. Ubisoft loved Michael Mando's audition so much that they created the character specifically for him. And Micahel's performance made Vass one of the greatest character in gaming.
Wouldn't be the same game without em either

Wish I could play far cry 1 and 2 but I don't have a pc😢 wish they would remaster them for current Gen consoles.
Being a Polynesian I have to say it. 18:46 "Tatau" is a word in many Polynesian languages and is the origin word for 'Tattoo". It's literal translation in most of our languages is "to mark", but in my language (Tongan) it's "Tatatau" which is 2 words. Ta = to hit/mark and tatau = symmetrically. I'd go into detail about it, but I could type for hours 😅 one last fact, one of the oldest tattooing kits was found in my motherland of Tonga, back in 2019 and was dated to be 2700 years old.

Joseph seed is number 1 for me but bass is a close second
I love the development of the main character Jason and his comparison to the best antagonist in Far Cry due to their situations.

@@madhunter6420 I agree, but I still enjoyed 4 and 5 and Blood Dragon. Although I never finished Far Cry 2. Also if Ubisoft hadn't been trying to make a replica of FC3 then they could've turned Far Cry Blood Dragon into a DOOM-esc game and it would've been fantastic.
Far cry 3 and 2 is the best of series, and blood dragon is the best dlc
I bought every available far cry game on the Playstation store for 70.00 on a flash sale! Cant belive i got all these great older games for the price of one newer game. I have the map completely unlocked, all outposts, weapons/accessories, memory cards, letters, and relics. Next im going to upgrade all of my gear and complete the side quests before i finish the 10 story missions that are left.

When playing a Far Cry game, I prefer to do a little of the side stuff before I continue with the story. Specifically for FC3, I replay it once in a couple of years. The first thing I do is unlock all the towers so all of the map is revealed and good weapons are unlocked for free, then upgrade my loot bag until it requires a specialised item, and then I go for the hunting quests. You get a hunting quest for most outposts you liberate, so by liberating the outposts, you clear the world of enemies, which will make your walkthrough a much better experience, and by doing the hunting quests early in the game, you will collect all the crafting skins you need for all the upgrades, which will eliminate problems like remaining out of ammo in a firefight and you will need the ammo. I suggest you do this off stream, and even off camera altogether.
This will make your experience so much smoother and enjoyable. But whatever path you choose, I'm here for the story, ultimately, so do whatever you feel like.
Far Cry 3 was by far one of the best n the series. Vaas was a fantastic character. The voice actor (Michael Mando) who looks exactly like him was going through a very rough patch in his life at the time which lent itself to the role perfectly.
I envy you, i wish I could erase my memory and experience this for the first time again

It was just one of those games, one of those lazy Saturday or after school games you could just hop into and mess around it.
None of the sequels that followed come remotely close to this game’s story, villains etc.
This is the best far cry game by far, it's gotta be my favorite game, your in for a hell of a fun ride

Far Cry 3 was the best and last proper entry in the franchise before they just copied the formula over. You're gonna enjoy the hell out of this game. It was so well made for its time. It truly is an experience.
That said, once you're done with this one you won't ever need to play another Far Cry again.
Well, except FC3:Blood Dragon. FC2 is also good, but not everyones cup of tea.

@@Kiri678 My only gripe with FC2 was that enemies respawned immediately at checkpoints right after leaving, so if you had to come back a couple on minutes later you'd have another fight on your hands.
I mean why not use a formula that works great but I do see your point, plus the micro transactions are a pain but I love farcry 5,it's a personal favourite. I gave up on 3 after a few hours but I'm going to give it another shot

I love this game I played it When it first came out and I still go back and download it to replay it at least once a year because I enjoy it so much. I also love The tribal knife and the tanto it’s not much of a variety in melee weapons but it’s significant enough to where I feel like most games should really consider it today

I was 6 when this game came out I begged my mum to get it for me she did and I swear that was the worst decision she ever made I was obsessed, I played it before bed, in the morning before school, and after until bed. Minecraft, cod and far cry ruled my childhood

FC3 may seem pretty average gameplay wise by standards now, but God, this was probably a benchmark game for YEARS
I've played all the farcry games starting way back in 2004 on my 360 and I honestly would have started with 5 and it's sequel new dawn then moved back to the older games.....or ahead to 6 just my personal opinion though

This is a good game but overhyped because of vaas , in reality it's just a green and blue game and no other color at all , for me far cry 4 is better and more beautiful game with good story too
I kinda agree. Vaas was an intriguing character, but aside from him, FC4 is better in every way. And tbh, Troy Baker’s villain was even cooler. That being said, FC3 did set a good foundation for gameplay design. It’s just a shame that after FC3, Ubisoft milked it for every dollar they good for a straight decade.
