Hi Bob, Couldn't believe you were crossing the tracks in Starcross. We spent many a happy holiday in Dawlish when my kids were tiny, happy memories of the ferry to Exmouth. Anyway, you've inspired me to get into this hobby and I finished my first Corgi 360 Eagle Freighter this summer after watching you do it first! Bought a donor model from ebay and now I need to do that one too. But it was originally that weird green colour 🤔 so I'm looking for the right paint. Hope the winkles were good mate, lotsa love from Kent xxx

corgi bob on location thought is was the intro to a blockbuster movie then train spotting and finally bob on the beach, hope you picked a perfect packet of winkles on the intro shots should have worn a pair of shoes of the same name if you have a pair does anyone wear them now ?. great double that didn/t cause much trouble slight difference in the style of the 2 sets of whizwheels maybe from different years . take care mate regards ian.
No mate the 271 versions never had them fitted as they only came with the later moulded plastic whizzwheels so no hollow rear axles fitted unlike the 270, out of the 3 versions made being the 261, 270 and 271, only the 270 did ` sorry .
Hi John the paint I used was just a basic Silver from Trago Mills called “ Silver wheel trim paint” it’s quite a big can and was fairly reasonable priced at just £2.75 a tin👍

Always a pleasure to watch you work your magic on these fascinating toys that have captivated my imagination since receiving my first Corgi 261 back in 65/66 timeframe. What a toy for a 9-year-old kid who grew up around sports cars and motor sports. I cherish my small collection of Corgi Bond cars, which I have proudly displayed in an old English curio cabinet from the 30's. Cheers from Northern California! Stewart
Great double restoration Bob, I have one to do but it’s missing a few bits, but it was very good to see all the working parts in your models, now I know what to expect. As always you have done a superb job on both of these models, they look brand new, and great idea to polish the rear shields, they do look the business! Nice to see you taking time out to go winkling, I used to love low water fishing, not been for about 20 years but we used to go out for about 3 miles with the tractor and trailer on our south east coast and walk another mile or so further out, but it’s quite dangerous here as the rise and fall of the tide is very big and it comes int extremely fast, many people been cut off and drowned over the years. My favourite are the welks, I love to pickle them, gorgeous 👌😉😊 All the best to you and Mrs Bob, take care, Nick.
I love the winkles but cockles are the best , trouble is you got to know where to look for them! Only managed to find about 12 lying on top but they were bloody nice 😋

Ive restored the goldfinger version and the silver version with the revoving numberplates and wheel drills the silver vwrsion i used a self tapper from an old audio cassette the rivet post is very narrow on this model so you have to get it dead centre ive started a resto of the austin a 60 driving school car and ive used caustic soda in a jam jar you can see the paint coming off

Another great resto. Shame about the decals. Industrial scale theft on the cockle beds here in Kent. Nobody gets charged, nobody seems to care.

I used a 2.5 mm drill and M3 0.5 pitch screws mate👍
