There's a general arrangement available for Third Class aboard Britannic and Germanic which shows how the White Star Line departed from conventional open berths. The berths were arranged along both sides of the ship in blocks of 5 or 6 parallel to the ship's center line, each block had a second tier of berths above them.
These blocks were enclosed into dormitory style rooms, each with two adjacent blocks of berths which provided an increased level of comfort and privacy.
I believe it is possible this arrangement may have been added later in their careers, as the plans indicate the passenger capacity for Third Class was reduced from 1,500 to around 1,050. Some sources have stated this may have been done to add second class accommodations.
