  • TheNarrowPath.com | Steve Gregg explains how it is illogical to take the Mark of the Beast as a physical mark when we don't take the mark of God or the Father's name written on the believers' foreheads literally. He also lets the Bible interpret who the 144,000 are.
You may also listen to Steve's class session on chapters 14-16 on MP3: media.theos.org...
    Revelation 14
    New King James Version (NKJV)
    The Lamb and the 144,000
14 Then I looked, and behold, a[a] Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having[b] His Father's name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. 3 They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed[c] from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no deceit,[d] for they are without fault before the throne of God.[e]
    The Proclamations of Three Angels
6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth-to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people- 7 saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."
8 And another angel followed, saying, "Babylon[f] is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication."
9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."
12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those[g] who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me,[h] "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'"
"Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them."
    Reaping the Earth's Harvest
14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, "Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You[i] to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe." 16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
    Reaping the Grapes of Wrath
17 Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, "Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe." 19 So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses' bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful teaching! Just wondering, since the 144K virgins were said to have been 'men not defiled by women', might that support the remnant as being literal virgins rather than figurative speech? Any input would be appreciated. God's blessings to you and all.

Yes but the physical manifestation of that verse still has to happen
I’m seated in my chair right now
But one day I’ll be seated in heavenly places

The 144,000 are the ones saved from the first Old Testament covenant. They are the partakers of the first resurrection and all of them were Jews from the 12 tribes of Israel. The second group are those that are saved in the New Testament age out of all nations and tongues. The first covenant ended with a resurrection and the new covenant ends with a resurrection. We read this in Mat 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
Mat 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. This was the beginning of the first resurrection. The Kingdom of God is a spiritual Kingdom it was never of this world and never will be. The kingdom of God was preached by Christ as being at hand so the Millennial Kingdom started on the day of Pentecost and ended 1000 years later in Revelation the 20th chapter. Jesus is the one who came down with a great chain to deal with Satan. When Jesus appears He will take out his people and destroy the world. In the book of Daniel Jesus will smite the great image representing the world on it's feet and it will all crumble and be like the chaff of the summer threshing floor.

Paul says this in 1Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the first-fruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Jesus also comments on the resurrections and said this which agrees with Paul Joh 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
    John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
John 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
John5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. The 144,000 are the first-fruits mentioned by Paul in 1st Corinthians 15:23; these are the first resurrection. The last resurrection is the group in Revelation chapter 7 from all nations and tongues at the coming of Christ.

The 144,000 are the manchild. In Revelation 12, Yahushuah Ha'Mashiach sent His Angel to Signify that these things are Truth and sure to be coming soon!
