I love how Zeus looks like he’s both part of and also lounging in the clouds, almost like he’s more bored/slightly amused rather than personally invested in Odysseus’ decision
He just looks so _casual._ It's almost like this is just a chore to him -"just another case of arrogant mortal fools trespassing against the gods", like he deals with every day - and forcing Odysseus to choose is just a way of making this chore more interesting.
Because in the song, he says he already knows the answer, it really isn’t anything to get excited over, because he already knew who he was killing, he just wanted Odysseus to say it.
OKAY but the way Eurlyochus actually STOPS the crew from going after Ody and then LOOKING HIM RIGHT IN THE EYES AS THEY GET SMITED BY ZEUS?!?!?!?!?!? AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
@@megabladechronicles962 it really is interesting! I don't watch behind-the-scenes content or the livestreams, and listening to the song independently gave me more of a tragically resigned vibe rather than a last despaired attempt to fight. @@HALYARDELI actually hadn't thought of Eury's reaction being sad resignation before seeing this. I think actually works better than he going in for another attack because it carries over his anguish from the second half of Mutiny. His looking at Ody right before the bolt is a greater emotional punch I think. Bravo for the excellent choice. I love your artistic style

@@whocaresaboutmynamebruh491odysseus has a sister had ctimene who was married to eurylochus which is why in luck runs out he says “you’re like the brother i could never do without”
OMG... How misserable Odysseus looks at that tiny "I know"! 💔 That's exactly how I imagined him. And I love how Eurylychus just holds the crew back, as there's nothing left to do... The song itself is so full of emotion, but you have added to that so so much! And to do that in a single afternoon! Wow!!
Personally also imagined this. I pictured the moment the crew realized Odysseus choice, their reactions differed - some jumped off the boat trying to escape, others broke down and cried - maybe only few try to attack Odysseus but fail. In the midst of the chaos, Eurylochus is just standing there, realizing he's screwed up.
I'm pretty sure "sacrifice of man" is actually referring to Scylla, and how the only way to pass her was by sacrificing the six men. The "portrayls of betrayal and a brother's final stand" seem more like it fits Mutiny and Thunder Bringer. During the livestream, one of the animatics Jorge had commissioned showed Eurylochus as well as the rest of the crew charging Odysseus after he made his choice. A lot of "betraying" happens during Thunder Saga. Odysseus betrays the six men he 'gives' to Scylla. Eurylochus and the crew 'betray' him during Mutiny, and then he betrays them all again when he chooses them to die. And since the livestream animatics are canon for Epic, the fact that Eurylochus tries to have one final go at Odysseus would be "a brother's final stand".
@specialgamer0072 Some do, but the livestream animatics are commissioned by Jorge and thus are canon to Epic. That means that canonically Eurylochus does attack Odysseus with the rest of the crew.
it's so much more intimidating to visualize Zeus as something so insubstantial and unreachable as the thunder cloud hovering over the ship instead of a human avatar walking amongst them
Idk how you make such high quality animatics so quickly but I love it! The way Zeus is painted to be part of the clouds is so cool too. And the decision to make Eurylochus stop the crew from attacking is great
Believe me, I'm gonna take a rest from animatics for a while because this speed isn't good for my arm nor back lol. I just loved this song too much not to jump straight to it and thank you! I wanted to show how Eurylochus knew there was nothing else to be done, especially after the duel

He said it himself, "Ody we're never gonna get to make it home, you know it's true," so he doesn't even try to stop him or change his mind. He even stops the crew because he knows there's nothing they can do to stop it now.... also probably knows that the longer they live, the more hells they'll be put through.... AHHHHH incredible work I'm crying now
I love how Zeus is drawn here! He's a GOD, and the design here...knowing that he CAN transform into a more humanoid and less threatening form but actively choosing not to! As if to say that he barely cares to put up a front or persona, as if to say that he doesn't see what's he's doing as absolutely mortifying and heart-wrenching for those mortals and this is just as mundane and unamusing to him as it would be if it were any other group of sailors....❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh my god, my absolute favorite thing is the interpretation of Eurlyochus stopping the crew and accepting what's about to happen. It's both completely heartbreaking and it really leads to Eurlyochus being Absolutely Done and In Despair as of Mutiny.
I love how you designed Zeus, like he's literally made out of clouds and not just coming out of them. But oh, when Eurolochus stopped the crew because he knew it wouldn't change anything, the anguish and grief on Odysseus's face. Masterful work!

Omg ngl this was the closest thing I thought happened after Ody says "I know" If its okay im gonna drop the comment I posted on thunder bringer here for what I imagined happened I'd like to think this is what happens while Zeus is singing after Ody says "I know" Odysseus, no longer able to decide whether or not he should be selfish and save himself to see his wife and son or be selfless and save his crew (a crew he knows that betrayed him but still sees as brothers), falls to his knees. Tears beginning to fall as Odysseus falls into a deep spiral of despair and is mentally broken once again. Eurylochus seeing his friend, his brother, from up till now was a cunning and wise captain and king, to now a man at his wits end and is falling further more into despair. Seeing how desperate Odysseus is to see his wife and child, more desperate than any other man on the ship they are on, seeing how much despair the weight of a decision Odysseus has to make on which life should be sacrificed. Eurylochus decides to take that burden off his brothers shoulders. Whether it be due to the guilt he has for what he did or the fact that he no longer wants to see Odysseus suffer any longer, Eurylochus brings Odysseus to his feet. Placing his hands on his brothers shoulders he says to Odysseus: "Ody...I know how much you miss your family and I know how desperate you are to see your home...and I understand you did what you had to do to ensure we get back home to Ithaca again...and I know you must be going through so much suffering....and I'm sorry... I'm sorry that I'm reason we're in this mess and i'm sorry that I opened the wind bag, loosing are chances to get home...So let me take the suffering from you, let me and the crew atone for what we have done" Eurylochus then turns to the crew, nodding at them and the crew knowing what they must do. Eurylochus then turns towards Zeus nodding his head, Zeus understanding what Eurylochus wishes to have done. Eurylochus then turns around looking at Odysseus. Odysseus realizing what's about to happen, tries to think of a way to bargain to Zeus, to find a way where everyone survives. But before he could say anything to the Thunder God, Eurylochus calls out to him. "Ody, I'll make sure to tell Polites of everything that has happened... hopefully he doesn't get mad at me for my stupidity haha...I hope we see each other again, and makes sure to tell us rest of how your journey back home to Ithaca goes... Oh and Ody, promise me you'll make it home alive brother...no matter what" Before Odysseus can say a word, a giant lightning bolt strikes down the ship destroying it Leaving no one but Odysseus to survive as he drifts down into the ocean This is what I'd like to believe happened and that Eurylochus understood why Odysseus did what he did and choose to atone for what he and the crew did.
