40 tiger and elephant tanks destroyed? Both could knock out any Russian tank especially the elephant with the Full power 88, the panther in the closing stages of the war had considerable success in knocking out these IS-2. Making a bigger diameter projectile doesn't make it any better in real world action, except when using high explosive rounds, for armour velocity and flatness of trajectory is what counts.
You do realize there are plenty of sources and testing that showed 122 mm shells had enough explosive forces to knock out the German heavies, Tiger tank could have its turret right blown off by 122, and even the 200 mm thick front of Elefant isn't going to do much when the explosions completely destroyed the inside along with the crews by internal spalling.
@@sthrich635 Well to some people nowadays, the source they reply on is The World of Tanks. I for one do not trust of Soviet sources. I did ask what sources. A question that has not been answered. Testing is testing and often conducted under ideal conditions. I have seen plenty of pictures of burned out IS 2s, so that wonder weapon certainly could be defeated. As to the 122mm shell. Certainly, in many situations a hit could be very destructive. However, that does not mean every hit means a certain kill and I am sure that 200mm of armor can and did defeat that shell on occasion.
I read something about the IS 2 having had a relatively slow rate of fire as the ammunition having to be loaded in two separate parts. Also, the amount of ammunition being carried was supposedly relatively low. Has anyone any information on that?
You have the channel of "Panzer archives" wich is loaded with info about the JS 2 JS 3 panthers and info of the respectivamente tanks of the 44, 45 and what ifs of 46 Edit: " Tank archives"

I would like to know what source was used for the 40 Tigers and Elephants being destroyed when engaged by 21 IS-2s.

@bocktordaytona5656 Thanks for that
may I suggest placing photos that match the model being spoken of in the narration. How hard is it to find examples of the 122 and 152 for instance.
The is2 biggest assist to ww2 has been in the last few years of comments.
Riikka! Miksette muuta niin ETTÄ VAIN SUOMEN KANSALAINEN SAA TUKIA!!!
Thanks 👍🇳🇿
👍
This primitive tank was no match for Tigers and Panthers. Russian tank man hat very low quality
Вот именно что ис 2 мог с тиграми и пантерами сравнивнится , в отличии от вашего Першинга которого Тигр 1 просто избил в январе 1945 года
Is2 was shit tank every time you fire you must lover gun that loader can loud gun geeman 88 can destroy him easly
I do NOT doubt your research. I’ve never heard of SO many of the model tanks being produced.
