Well, I can go either way. I grew up during the 80s - graduated high school in '87. Which means I've seen the evolution of video games since Pong. Only games I haven't played were the ones programmed on old radar equipment. So I do enjoy games with ultra good graphics, as well. It never should be an "either or" choice. Enjoy the various graphics styles out there - see and appreciate what they each have to offer. Better yet, play different games with different styles without always comparing and contrasting "this" to "that.". You'll find yourself enjoying them all. For example - if you always compared subsequent lovers to your first love, they would never measure up. Eventually you would find yourself very alone with an unsatisfying love life!
It really give the game some retro 1980s horror film feeling and style.
This is exactly how bad dreams look. The texture in this game is dreamlike.

Obviously so many others have made this comment already, but these games have a charm to them, an atmosphere that makes them far scarier than any current-gen horror games out there. PuppetCombo understands that the retro, VHS/CRT/PSX visuals, coupled with the procedural AI stalker and light puzzle solving, has been the perfect recipe for horror games for many many years. A game does not need to run on Unreal 5 (or even 3 or 4) and have a million-billion dollar budget to be an effective, atmospheric horror game (most of those big-budget games play it too safe and they're weighed down by far too many systems and features that take away the immersion) Less is More when it comes to horror. I will say that Alien Isolation and RE7 are the exceptions (and those were only scary on first run). Otherwise.. Puppet Combo games have scared me far more than any game since Silent Hill 2, 3 or Eternal Darkness: SR
If Re7 had these graphics, I think it would be a much more terrifying experience.
I like to imagine there’s a announcer (narrator? 🤔) in the main menu with a deep voice saying the title name like in resident evil.

The game has a bunch of possible endings.
From what I’ve gathered so far she’s forcibly impregnated between getting captured and waking up in the cage, possibly with some kind of demon baby from this cult. There are brief flashes on the screen periodically throughout the game with words like “labor” and “delivery”, and there is a locked nursery room in the attic where you can hear baby mobile music. This is the only ending to the game I’ve seen so far but there are several endings, and you should be able to escape through the bunker in the basement to continue the story
Well, if you remember when he first captured her, she said something was wrong with her stomach. At the end she vomits straight blood, so he may have implanted sonmething in her.
So much fun to watch! The quiet segments were mesmerizing and the jumpscares? Holy shit! I'm old and woulda had a heart attack if I'd played this. 😆 Thanks for playing so I don't have to.

Living in a small part of Oklahoma for a couple of years , this game definitely gives off northeastern Oklahoma, middle of nowhere type shit. Nice play through tho ✊🏾

I know all games are just a sandbox but i love games like this where everything looks placed on a plane. Very obviously so. Makes me feel like i can free roam around the building and might find some random easter egg. New games feel so linear despite being open world since all the paths are so laid out and highlighted.
Some parts of this game remind me of Redneck Rampage so much.. I miss the old game days.

Gotta respect puppet combo man. I’ve never felt uneasy watching another person play a game. They’ve proven that graphics and a big budget are irrelevant to making a horror game. I played re7 in vr without breaking a sweat. I play this or nun massacre and my hairs are on end up until I wuss out.

Yep I knew it ... 80s vibe. The Oklahoma drivers license gave it away. Brendan was born in 1966 - which means if this game took place today, Brendan would be 56 years old - and he definitely doesn't look 56. I thought as much when a broken landline was such an issue. If cellphones were available there wouldn't be as much suspense. This game does give off some creepy vibes. It's simplicity only makes the creepyness worse.
What's crazy is that those mobile homes that you run to at the very end are the same ones from the Feed me billy game.

At the very end, my can opener is facing the pot on the stove and when I use it, the can falls on the table and presumably drops the key through the stove, making it unattainable. Anyone else having this problem?

I have to say - the whole "the phone is dead" thing is just way too convenient. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard convenient. What's worse is Katz saying, "You shouldn't be making phone calls at work anyway." Uh uh, because calling for help during an emergency never crossed anyone's mind. Now, granted, I've just started watching this game so I don't know what's going to happen. I just know that the advent of cellphones was hell on horror writers - so they just make sure that, despite national coverage, there's never any reception. But since this game seems to give off an 80s vibe so far (All of 3 minutes into it) they had to do the old "it's broken" trope. I love how the note said, "I'm not expecting any emergencies" - like there's a robbery schedule or something. Or there, an employee falling and breaking his leg is a planned event - nothing like that happens when the phone is out. As I said, I'm only 3 minutes into the video so this isn't a criticism, just a mildly amusing observation.

Night shift and Stay out of the house both take place in the year of 1986, so it makes sense considering phones weren't really that functional

Everything is better but the characters and voice in the characters in Lucas kind of because it looks like the character is like a robot and is speaking like a animatronics and sometimes the game feels like there is this inside of water I'd feel like the entire game is inside of water and it's just flowing it's a scary game and it's a good game if they only would make you know some things better on the detailing of the characters or the detailing on everything else I think it's a perfect game you know everything is good I love it

@@Kipthunder I had a PlayStation and few VCRs, you only notice the jagged wobbling on modern TV's. I figured a VCR because it looked as if it was a tape playing that had tracking issues.
