I saw a theory on another video that I think is interesting. I think they are representing their fears. Blindness or being in the dark; falling or fear of heights; claustrophobia or being trapped in something, drowning or being overwhelmed maybe and you're calling out for someone to save you. I agree Skillet is amazingly talented. I am not a Christian but I feel like their music transcends it's genre. It showcases their faith beautifully but at the same time, it's written in a way that is so powerful and metaphorical that anyone can relate to it. It's beautiful! This is one band that I have yet to see live but as soon as all this quarantine mess is over, I plan to remedy that. I've heard they are AWESOME live!
I've seen them 11 times live and they are absolutely fire every time. They are one of my top 2 favorites of live shows that I've seen.... The other is TFK which was literally the loudest concert I've ever been to.... Not in terms of music but in terms of the crowd.... Like I literally had trouble hearing the band over the crowd at times and I was right by the wall of speakers.... 😅🤣🤯😳
The eyes cover symbols a blindness that hold them hostage. They are aware of it but because they cant see they are crying to someone save them. Being a Christian band, Christ is the one who can save them from their own blindess.
Not all of their music is based around christ with them. This was actually based on depression and being locked away from society, feeling like "no one cares"
@@CreamyFacial well all of their music is based around their faith. It may not be outright but their Christianity is always front and center. Just listen to any interview with John Cooper. He's a borderline theologian.
Everyone talking about Billy needs to react to songs off their album awake and alive. Y'all shouldnt sleep on their collid, alien youth, or comatose albums
The message behind this video is how our sin holds us captive and it can keep us trapped in the darkness ... And how they are crying out to Christ to save them from that dark place. We all have struggles and pain that can hold us back, but reaching out to Jesus can get you through it! God Bless brother!
You did this RIGHT after they released the official video, didn't you? Lol, I follow them near constantly. The song is about intimacy and being truly known by someone else. The hands keeping him in the dark symbolize how we keep everything to ourselves. "Peel back the skin exposed to you / Take pleasure in the pain" is about how it can be painful to open up and let someone see the dark parts of ourselves, but they can save us by understanding and seeing us for who we are and helping us through. John and Korey (lead singer and female guitarist, and married) produced this video by themselves, actually. They've also been releasing piano versions of some of their music on Facebook during quarantine, too. They did this one a week ago. You should check out the drummer's music, the band LEDGER. "Warrior" and "Not Dead Yet" are a couple of my favorites. "Warrior" features John, as well, so it might as well be a Skillet song.
You should see them perform live....so amazing!! But I believe this video is like a representation of their biggest fears: blindness/being blinded by the devil (hence the black arms and smoke), drowning/water, suffocating/claustrophobia, and falling/heights.
Skillet is an awesome band dude. Try watching their song “back from the dead tonight” it’s an awesome song and it’s sequel to “Monster” the song you already reacted to from these guys. Keep the crazy going billy, you got this
This song goes hard, man. I love it. Got me through some tough times not too long ago. As for the video, I think it’s about each member of the band’s individual fears. Blindness, drowning, confined in close spaces, falling down a pit. That’s my take, anyways.
I don't know if you react to just music tracks, but if you do you could check out their song Back To Life. It doesn't have a music video right now but it's a really good song. Be blessed!
You should react to: Good as hell- lizzo Stealing Cinderella - chuck wicks Power- little mix Beer with jesus- Thomas rhett Little piece of heaven- avenged sevenfold Gods country Blake Shelton Hollar- Granger smith Dads old number- Cole swindell Any song by Jay Park Hey dad- Matt stillwill
Please listen to “If We Have Each Other” by Alec Benjamin!!!!! It is something that people need to hear, he wrote the 3rd verse about his sister! Or you could listen to “6ft Apart” also by Alec Benjamin, it is about how we are all feeling during this tough time. Please like this so Billy can see I’ve been trying for months now and it will definitely be worth it in the end!
