Interesting to know that this would have been what your instrument was like if you were a guitar player in the 1600's. 9 strings, tuned fairly similarly and with way more animal intestine then you're used to.
Always great contents Rob , Keep it up , You inspire me a lot, I have couple of very old instruments from north africa on my channel I hope you check them out, Peace
The interesting thing, Rob, is that there's a similar instrument like that 9 string guitar here in Brazil. It's called a "Viola Caipira" (it translates something among the lines as "Countryside Viola"), and it has a similar string set: 10 strings, but in 5 pairs. It is deeply used in folk, brazilian countryside (caipira) music, but it's a popular instrument in some genres and music in Brazil

People saying he can’t be a vampire because he was in the sun.. the thing is that lore didn’t come around until centuries after the “vampire” or general sanguinarian humanoid legends and folk lore were beginning to appear in society... originally it was believed that vampires can go into the sun but because they are night hunters they stayed indoors during the day for more of a resting up for the hunt sort of reason... although some older legends to say that vampiristic beings had a sensitivity to the sun similar to an allergy causing a rash or burns very quickly they still would not die, and with modern inventions such as sunscreen a “vampire” would probably be able to stay in the sun for long periods with minimal effect
Yeah. The whole 'vampires burning to dust in sunlight' thing was invented by the filmmakers for Nosferatu, both to add to the moralism, and to try and skirt the copyright infringement they knew they were doing (they were adapting Dracula without having obtained the rights, so they did a few things to change the story to try and get around that but Stoker's widow still sued and they lost big time.
