Didn't have access to video when I pinned on the Master Guns in '97, would have been nice. Administering the oath of enlistment is not a requirement but a nice touch; I worked for several CO's who did that, too.
Used to be ,when you got promoted ,you got your stripes pinned on. Which meant within 24 hours everyone of a higher or the same rank punched you in the arm and shook hands with you.
I would have to pull my earlier ones to be sure, but the Master Gunny warrant is larger and with a gold seal on it by the signatures. I think E8 and below are all same size. The wording is identical E1-E9.
5:48 why the heck did the desk display have his rank with 3 up, 3 down with a bursting bomb in the middle?! What is that? A senior gunnery sergeant? That is a huge fail devil dog.
Awesome.
Getting mine soon.
Maybe posthumously. My chevrons cost less than .44 cents.
Less than a judge's gavel.
As a Corporal, I always wondered what strangeness happens at the SNCO level. Semper Fi Master Guns!

Proud of ya, Devil Dog, and appreciate your commitment to your peers, subordenants, and to the United States of America. Cheers!
Why become a Marine when there's no war going on? what is a Marine without war?
Congratulations Master Guns! Raaah, Semper Fi. Stay Salty!

It’s was mainly e-5 and below that did that when i was in. Can you imagine SNCO doing it lol
Yeah, that went away long ago due to injuries. When you made Corporal (NCO) you could get kneed in the thigh, too, to denote your "blood stripes".
Is it just my memory or did SNCO' s used to have a different promotion certificate. GySgt USMC retired , 1984-2004.

This is called a Pineapple promotion or bursting bomb from what I’m told. It’s a pretty high rank! But what do I know I’m just the cameraman 🤣
Yut.
Dang... Momma be looking good.
