I disagree with your assessment of the combiner. The text of Tidal Wave (Battleship) says "When your second character is KO'd" it doesn't say when the other two parts of Tidal Wave are KO'd. Both the other parts of Tidal Wave read "Deploy the character from under this". Match this up with the (Battleship) text and you have the ability to combine once a second character is KO'd which would include those deployed from under Tidal Waves other parts. Makes this a far better combiner then at first glance.
I actually like Arcana! Getting raw, hard stats is sometimes gonna be better than having Tough 3. I mean sure, if we’re playing in a blue deck then chances are we’re gonna be getting that +5 defense, likely even more! Flintlock is an awesome value! But what if I don’t want to run a blue deck? What if I find a body that has awesome attack but is pretty frail? Or maybe only has one or two defense? What if we get a body with three or four defense? Boosting that up to five or six sounds pretty sweet to me. I think there’s a reason this is valued the same as Flintlock. These heads are all about customizing the experience and it could be very very nice. ...but yeah I’m way more excited for Tidal Wave! :p
You say arcana's not interesting. And at 1st glance I'd agree. But. With him being the set promo, that +2 to defense in his head mode could end up being pretty unique among the heads as we get further into spoilers, and no matter what starting the game with an extra 2 defense is nothing to scoff at.
Arcana is a decepticon so you can play him with the "faction" cards. Too bad they didn't let you start with a boat under the battleship, seawatch and fixit and a plane would have been fun
This is really cool! I’d argue that it doesn’t break the game any more than Metroplex or Trypticon does. They both start with way more than 25 stars when counting their minions, too.
Jimi Mcmahon yes indeedy, read them. Play the game regularly. 25 stars max to a team. Pretty straightforward. So, in your words, how exactly are the mechanics of this combiner any different than the Titan cards allowing more than 25 stars from their minions?
@@IaconDispatch I know you miss the part where it says you're starting team can only consist of 25 stars in total and it doesn't matter if it's any different from the others are not by definition is breaking the rulesbut they designed the cards that way so one could argue that yes it is technically breaking the rules but it isn't you thought you did something smart here but you didn't it's okay. And no it's not going to break the game but it's definitely unique and there's a lot that you can do with it do to the additional characters that you can deployand also if you don't know the origin of this character he comes from the Armada series where they had mini cons that they deploy from themselves or that they use for upgrades so it actually makes sense whether it breaks the rules or not. either way it breaks the rules wyoming's read the rule guide again cuz you clearly missed that I ain't going to waste with you that's the end of that have a good one.
Yes , it is breaking the rules of the game, so what? That is literally what cards do. Impactor having bold 1 breaks the rule that you only flip 2 battle cards in combat, Ratchet breaks the rule that your starting hand is 3 random cards, Zap breaks the rule that damage is dealt through battle... I could go on.
This may end up being one of the best combiners in the game it is the only one that has an easy way to use Swap missions the 2 small characters are great. I would go pierce blue
ok. lets look at this. he's 24 stars. not 25 he's got below the average stats. I theorize Tidal Wave is getting a strategem card to pump up those stats of his! or give him some nasty ability
We're definitely not getting a 4 star copter in wave 5. All the small cards are strategems or heads, and I don't see them printing a 4 star character as a full sized card now that small ones exist.
To be honest I don't see why there can't be a combiner that just uses your flip for turn to combine like just 2 or 3 weak 4 stars that just flip for into a decent character and when flip back can swap around damage and upgrades and that being the appeal.
@@POzziee I wouldn't expect to see another Arcana in this set. In the standard boosters there will likely be Brainstorm and Teslor, who is his titan master partner in the Titans Return toyline.

but do you get those 4 or fewer star characters (under the transport and carrier) without adding to your star cost or basically for free ?

Tidal wave was actually my favorite toy as a kid, so I am totally going to get one of these guys!

It's technically breaking the rules though. Read the rules yes?

Missed both Metroplex and Trypicon tanks. Although Brunt might be a good option for its revenge tag.
Brunts revenge only works if Trypticon is on the field, sorry.
@@duanebacon9296 true it does. Forgot about that.
Still good little tank. Plus decepticon means the decepticon cards all work.

Finally we got more boats
thank you wossy
I maybe missing something as I don't read modern comics, but isn't this the head of Brainstorm? If so why would it be a Decepticon?
I read up on him Tfwiki, that he was a double agent working with the Decepticons to acquire parts for his ‘paradox-exempt’ time machine...?

Thanks for the info, hopefully we'll see his Autobot self in boosters?

I get the feeling this is mediocre purely because they might have a generic strategem for combiners
Could this mean that Tidal Wave will appear to the Transformers: War for Cybertron - Earthrise?
Feels both OP and Weak at the same time
Tidal Wave... They hav bot mode and Boat mode XD.
