Sometimes I catch a glimpse of this love for others he is describing. Sometimes I see others just a bit like the Father sees us. I've listened to this talk twice now in an effort to bring that feeling back. Like he said, it takes constant effort.
The more we understand the nature of God, how He sees us and what He wants for us, the less we will envy others. It’s the enmity - the rivalry - the want to be better than others or have more than them or be more than them - rather than be more than we are to please God - that is the issue. So much is to do with the intent of the heart and our desires. I love this talk and always think of the quote about the rerun of the TV show “Vain Imaginations”
God help me to love and embrace in forgiveness those that you mercifully restore into my life. Thank you for your salvation that is reaching out to lost loved ones and bringing them back home in Jesus name

I love Elder Holland . I love every one of his talks. A true apostle of God.
I think to some degree each of us have been the prodigal or the other sibling and in both cases need the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.
Proof that God’s love is equal and unconditional.
