Shock absorber restoration | Honda MTX Project #3

Today we wil restore the shock from the Honda MTX, we firstly removed the spring that had tension on it. after that we sandblasted all the parts and painted them.

We used special paint for springs then used 2k clear coat to finish it

Is the red spring the harder one? My MTX 50 AD04 has a black spring which is extremely soft. There a used shocks for sale with red springs and even some harder springs originally from Honda which are also red

all springs are the same strength but some are different colors based on wich type of mtx you have. the springs need to be soft because they aren't for the damping but for the return of the gass piston.

@@restorationandbuilds5899 The Honda M Shop in the Netherlands sells a harder spring for AD04 and HD06 models. Would be interesting to know if this is a aftermarket part or an original form Honda
