This game has some of the most breathtaking climbing mechanics. I love getting to the top of the highest tree and jumping off and catching myself on some branches. It's quite a rush. Well until you miss and just faceplant your ape.
From Steam: Biomes and what you may encounter -There are new Biomes to discover with advantages and disadvantages you will need to prepare for. Jungle: Lots of everything, easy escape predators using the cliffs and trees. Only a few predators here, and lots of caves to explore. A good starting zone to get much of your experiences out of the way. Eagles can attack high in the trees. Giant Centipedes can be found in caves, along with Tarantulas than can hurt you for small damage. Swamps and Lakes: Found in the Jungle, you will find more difficult predators such as frequent Snakes and Crocodiles. Plains: Less cover, Less Trees, still abundant resources. Finding Kapok Fibers in trees is difficult. You will be introduced into Hyenas and Horses here, along with more difficult Tigers and Snakes Savanna: Always hot- will be taxing on your stamina. Water is found only at the River, and at Discovery Vistas (Oasis'). Less herbivore food, but more animal meat. Very little cover. No Kapok Fibers, healing is replaced by Aloe, and Horsetail which must be refined before use. Lots of Hyenas, more difficult Tigers. You will also encounter Gazelles, Buffalo, Elephants, and Rhinos. Canyon Pass: Dangerous. Jackels, Hyenas, and Tigers frequent here. Its hot and there is NO water. You need to forage berries and eat Snake Eggs to find Water. Not hospitable for camp. Trying to go over the pass using the mountains may be easier, but you may encounter Eagles. Desert: Also Hot. This will be the most Hostile and least Hospitable place. No water other than the Vista at the beginning, and end of the desert. Same rules for the Canyon apply, forage berries and eggs. There is very little to forage too. This Desert pass is a long walk, it will take the entire day to get past it. Ensure you are ready before you set off. The Ocean: Cools down, there are 3 Vistas with water sources here. The Ocean cannot be traversed and cannot be drunk (seawater). You will encounter Sea Otters and Pelicans at the edge of the water, which can be difficult. Tigers can be found here in low numbers. Resources are less frequent than the savanna, but more abundant and diverse than the desert. The Lake: A extremely large lake that serves as the games border, opposite to The Ocean. Similar temperate as the Jungle and Forest regions, with Crocodiles and Sea Otters along the beach.
How are you walking through the whole map and night getting attacked by any animals. God mode? That is impossible in the real game. Trust me. and without food, water and sleep.
At one point in the game I decided to go to explore but ledt my clan at the settlement, so just god a baby monke and went, and when I was super super far away, I got eaten by a crocodile, so then it put me in control of the baby monke, pretending that I was going to walk back on scare mode and without remembering the way back. I just offered myself as baby monke as an offering to the crocodile, again. Then took me all the way back to another member in the clan... oh well
And this game has the storage space of about 99% of the entire Xbox 360 library? HOW? The game can look SO amazing at the right angles, how tf did they fit a game like this in THAT little space? That just baffles me, it shows how game development has progressed, we have games like Destiny 2 being 100+ GB, and then we have this
to anyone wanting to explore, id say bring a basalt chopper ( with max genes its a 2 hit sharp stick). if you just want a couple of locations to be discovered then swnd out an elder female ( they cant reproduce not sexist ) with a sharp stick and obsidian scrapper ( not as good but still good ). if your moving your clan, wait untill you get the order mimic, take a dead branch switch hands alter to a normal stick. take all basalt choppers and make yoyr self and any other members with babas sharp sticks. Hope that helpes to newcomers 😀
I just take my whole clan everywhere, settling every new location with food and water. I stock my settlements with stockpiles of sticks and stones in case I respawn there after evolving, with some bigger settlements being stacked with food and tools and protected fully by walls- I cover a lot more ground this way
The audio in this video is pretty impressive because I could actually hear a few of the gems you walked by, and I could only hear that in my games when I was wearing headphones.
But that is not the point of the game the point is to evolve into a human faster then science suggests and that is what makes it so fun as you have to be careful what you do and how you do it unlike other games where if you die you just respawned in this game if you die you loose that ape permanently and it is duducted from your time skip when you evolve. I could go on for days but my hands a tired feel free to add on.
@@therealsaintlucifer777 that is what volume 2 is supposed to be a a human you will have access to more abilities and be able to do more but for now this is what we have and I rather like it. There are many games out there that are like that but ancestors is unique and that is what makes it fun. Now if you don’t like it that’s fine but others (myself included) really do like it and adding a mode like that to it just makes it feel like another random game but if you don’t like it just till volume 2 comes out.
Cool... It is very chill moment right..., when in cave or on trees while raining... Just like raining inside camp in RDR 2 and on a ship in AC IV: Black Flag... It feel satisfying...IMO.

Thanks for putting the map into perspective for me. As it stands, I thought my little corner was huge and that the map edge was soon going to creep up on me. I had no idea it was so damned big. O.O

i guess your meant to travel around but like all the places i been suck, there are no places to set up base. I had to sleep in the rain and had to climb a big cliff to get up there just to be safe there was no food and it was small, sorry spawn base is the only place for me
In this case, it's a bit difficult to calculate the speed, basically because we don't know how big the primate is. I will assume that he is as big as an chimpance. When he is walking on land is relatively fast. (Practically jogging) --I think that while walking / jogging, he goes at a minimum of 6 km / h Of course he did not travel 5 km, because while climbing, swimming and walking in water he goes much slower.

Exactly, I'm glad you recognize that. The game did not turn out great, but hopefully it will open the door for a developer (or Ubi again) to expand on the concept and make a great game in the future

But once you get the hang of it the progression from being a scared little chimp to a dominate life force is super satisfying. You'll be brushing off sabers, 10 ft long centipedes, hyenas... heck even hippos. The grind is there but it doesn't seem blunt- at least not to me. Map is absolutely gorgeous!!! Fact that ONLY 35-40 people worked on this amazes me. Game itself doesn't have any game-braking bugs, it's quite polished and by the looks of it can top off a lot AAA games out there. How many AAA titles had open world game and it just felt empty, dull etc. To say the game didn't turn out great would be overstating it... it's your opinion, and I respect it, but again if taken into consideration that only handful people worked on this game... I would say the game exceeds a lot of expectations.
@@natanmiksic8537 The game is so soo hard man, you would have to seach up how do do stuff. ik thats the point but its really hard i was playing on controller because my sens on my mouse was super high idk y but anyway the game didnt tell me you could craft by holding down buttons like how was i meant to even try and make stuff, its harder then crafting in minecraft and not knowing the recipes. maybe if it was co op then you could work things out faster(kage bunshin no jutsu) but it isnt. also im on gen 3( ive been taking my time understanding everything) and ive had 7 deaths. 2 were from old age, 5 were from jumping out of trees because i missed the branch. This game is for someone with a lot of time

I've played on controller too simply cause it was intended to ply like that (haven't even tried on mouse+keyboard). There are maps in the game but you can't see where you are on the map, you have to use your compass and your watch. On your watch you can see teh coordinates where you are and those same coordinates are on the map. I prefer a map at the start of the game :)

Tried showing my girlfriend the Father Tree jump (like 300+ft) and it was foggy so I didn't see any branches.. Let's just say F in chat xD

id say once you get to the savcanah go for the rock arrow oasis ( if your doing the tutorial then tou need it anyway )

Yes, I used a trainer from Cheathappens. Otherwise it's almost impossible to walk across the complete map.
I did walk the whole map without cheats but i slept and ate and counterattacked animals

There is no map or way to find your way around. Main reason the game is so unpopular and sucks.

How Big is the Map? For me, this game graphics need to be improve. I luv primitive survival explorer game, but graphics should be at PS4 level
