    "O Holy Night" is one of the greatest sacred Christmas carols of all time, and the Jackie Evancho/Sir James Galway performance is the most gut-wrenchingly powerful interpretation of this classic. Jackie's rich, angelic vocal, Sir James's flute and the Day-of-Judgement style orchestral and choral backing combine to create a memorable and goosebump-inducing listening experience. God bless you, Jackie and Sir James! Merry Christmas! CHRIST IS BORN!

    Symphony orchestras only assemble when performing with stars. When they assemble at Carnegie Hall for a Christmas Carol performace, it is only with a superstar. Jaqueline Marie Evancho with ensemble praising Christ at Carnegie Hall for a Christmas celebration, It just doesn't get any better. Merry Christmas and God Bless you JME and thanks for your gift of song.

    WOOOW! Delivered in her typical understated style. Easy does it and Jackie always does. Such a humble young lady as she always defers to the artists surrounding her. And what a dress. Her talent and visage are nearly beyond comprehension. I absolutely love this young lady.

      All of the prognostications on AGT are coming true right before our eyes. Startling to believe with all of the international forums she has *already* performed in front of, she is surpassing the promise she showed. Love the chastity ring too, and I believe that with all her charm and honesty and humility, and illuminous beauty, she will become the most desired young lady to all young gentlemen everywhere!

      Talk about prognostications. Back in Oct 2009, 1 year before AGT. Jason Dowd, in his “Expressionist Arts Journal”, in an Article titled: USA’s Little Darling - Jackie Evancho, wrote: “If I had a crystal ball, where I could see the future, I would see this: Jackie won’t be playing on MTV or anything like that, but instead I see her sitting on the stage at Carnegie Hall, standing alone as a vocalist. Behind her is the New York Symphony Orchestra belting out the melody of her songs, which will surely send chills down your spine as only the orchestra can do. Jackie will be releasing that amazing voice over the orchestra to give you goose bumps on top of goose bumps. That is how Jackie will touch your heart.”
      -- That prediction is coming true right now in front of our eye & ears

      I’m here because Sir James Galway is my idol since I was 13 years old. I play the flute and I have 80% of his songs and albums. I even have one that my grandfather had when he was alive and every summer I would spend 25 days at his house and he would play the vinyl record at least once every other day

      It's not luck. For those of you who don't know, "papasmurfdad" is Michael Evancho, Jackie's father. Proud papa owns the rights, and can film with impunity.

    • @papasmurfdad
      @papasmurfdad  11 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Stephen Powell Let me correct the facts. I am an adoring fan, Michael Swayne, alias "papasmurfdad." Credit for this video goes to Karl Turban. I merely enhanced it. My relationship to Jackie goes no farther than grandfather to granddaughter type feelings on my part. I like to think my videos exist because of the incomparable subject portrayed and because of my attention to technical quality.

    Among all the JME videos, this is a Gem. As others have said, only occasionally does she rise for the special occasions, and open her pipes, and let fly. See the video in 2015, with Jackie singing The Prayer with David Foster at the piano. Best she's sung that song. People who were in attendance that day have largely no idea what they're witnessing, when Jackie bestows on Them the miracle of hearing and experiencing the Jackie Effect, Live.

    • @Royalchess1
      @Royalchess1 11 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Seeing and hearing both of them on a new CD/DVD, would be a real treat; beautiful! It just so happens that during the last few days I've been hearing JEM singing Danny Boy immediately after hearing it on YT. Your's is an excellent idea even though I still can't understand what her mom doesn't like about it; but it's enough for her not to sing it again. There are many other songs for her to sing, and songs to write. It probably is the only thing she agreed not do to get her mom's help. Every time I see one of her many concert scenes like this vid, I say...just think, everybody is there just for JEM.

      Jackie met Vittorio Grigolo on dancing with the stars last year and now appears on his Christmas cd which was just released in October, check it out it is magnificent. I could only guess that there are many in the music industry who would line up outside her doors for the chance to perform with her on stage.

      Royalchess1 Still supporting JEM the terrorist group. Are you a member of a local cell? Here is a link to the U.S. NATIONAL COUNTERTERRORISM CENTER.
      www.nctc.gov/site/groups/jem.html
      Quote from their report:
      "JEM has openly declared war against the United States."
      Both myself, and others have told you repeatedly that JEM is an active terrorist group. And have asked you to stop using their name when commenting on Jackie. It is not an association she wants. But because of your childish need to stroke your own ego, and not admit to being in the wrong, you have refused. How very selfish and small of you.
      Please grow up, and stop calling Jackie by the name of an active terrorist group.
      If you have to call her by a name no one else does, use what little common sense you have to come up with a new name. If you need help with that, just ask for it.

    Papasd, once again thanks for this video! I am so surprised only 30,000 people have seen this vid. Imho this is the highlight of Jackie`s performances in 2013! DocDLH` s comment is so right as it can be. Together with "Awakening" in 2014 this performance gives us an glimps what to come in the next years. The transition from prodigy to a century performer seems to be possible. We have seen a similar development with Julie Andrews (Not the same genre). Deanna Durbin (RIP 2013) was on this track, but decided as a twen to leave the showbizz and to live a private family life in France.

    Papa, I well remember her performing at Carnegie Hall nine years ago. I believe it was on 5 or 6 December 2013 because she then flew across the country to perform her last concert of the year in Long Beach, California on 7 December 2013. I was at that concert and there was a memorable moment for me that night. Probably about 2000 people attended that concert and I was 11 rows up, located in the middle of the stage. She wore a beautiful light blue dress for the first two sets and then she came out in an extraordinary silver and gray dress for the second segment of the show. As normal for her, she entered from the audience's left side of the stage and had taken about 2-3 steps out on the stage when the full audience saw her in that dress. The next moment was something I will never forget. There was a collective gasp from what seemed all the women in the concert hall over the beauty of a 13-year-old girl who they recognized was no longer a pretty little girl but a beautiful young woman. I thought there was a mass angina attack for all these concert patrons and wondered how Long Beach was going to manage the flow of patients to hospitals and urgent care wards. Anyway, I think you were there as I believe you posted up a video of her performing one of the songs she sang on YT. You could tell she was a bit tired that evening and it was her last performance before returning home to celebrate Christmas with her family. One other thing that was noteworthy that night and kind of funny. As she walked out on the stage for the fourth and final segment of the show, the microphones on the front of the stage picked up the "Clump, Clump, Clump, of her feet as she walked to the middle of the stage. I almost started laughing out loud as it was so characteristic for a new teenager going thru puberty to make a lot of noise when they walked as she probably had minimal or no footwear on as she walked out for that final segment...Figured that if I laughed that the 70-80 year old women sitting in front of me would have beat the hell out of me with those expensive formal purses they brought with them....this was the first of the six, JME concerts that I have attended, from 2013 to 2019, and hope to attend more in the future, especially anytime she decides to return to Texas....thanks for posting this video...Texas Hoosier

    YES - I agree "papasmurfdad" - What a blessing.
    I just attended her concert in Melbourne Fl at King Center for the Performing Arts last Sunday Jan 5th 2014. I took my daughter and grand daughter. We all enjoyed her singing. She had a "slight cough" which she controlled so bravely. I just hope she keeps her health. It must be hard doing so many concerts around this holiday season.
    And also my daughter said she saw them confiscate 2 peoples cell phones. I didn't see any cameras so does that mean I can't ever "relive" one of the songs she sang there? She sang the "Songs of the Silver Screen". At least we have it on her CD.
