I know how to dual boot, I learnt that from your previous videos, but I'm only here to support your channel, big ups homie.
I appreciate that. Thank you so much.
Thanks buddy, I was really looking forward to using Windows 11 with Ubuntu in Dual Boot.
I was wondering about the bitlocker part and no other youtube videos mentioned it until yours. big thx
Yes it's very important I noticed it lately, windows sucks In some areas. Bit locker encryption has both benefits & downsides. But for linux people like us it's a problem.
When the windows drive is encrypted with bit locker, linux installer will fail to decrypt it natively and requires a third party tools to unlock it.
So, in one word when the windows drive is encrypted, linux cannot access unallocated free space (created earlier) and throws an error. So it's better to disable that feature.
I guess bit locker is only enabled in PRO editions and business ..
Mine is 11 but it's showing bitlocker encrypted in the disc storages page after cmd and I am unable change the encryption@@kskroyaltech
Have followed your excellent guide through with a dual boot install of Ubuntu onto a Windows 11 Laptop (HP Elitebook 640 G9).
In my case the BIOS had to be set to Secure Boot Disabled to allow the install USB drive to boot.
This "modern" HP bios is very tricky with hardware changes...
Also the steps you outline to delete the Ubuntu partition and GRUB bootloader worked very well. 5 stars!
Many thanks.
Best video!! you touched every detail 👏
Yay! Thank you!
Excellent guide; very clear and detailed. Thanks.
You're welcome!
I have dual boot on two different drives and it runs smooth as butter in the sun. Thanks for showing anyway. I un Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Windows 11 24H2. No issues on any of them.
Awesome. 24H2 is not out right for public release.
thanks for the bonus tutorial at last
Any time
Thanks a lot it did work❤
helpful as always! i was wondering if the video you made about removing snap packages and other dependencies related to it still apply to this LTS release. thanks in adv!
Yes same procedure to remove snap packages in 24.04.. BACKUP with timeshift, Before you remove SNAPD.
Here is my article: kskroyal.com/remove-snap-packages-from-ubuntu/
I tried running via external hdd and my bitlocker locked the windows 11. Is there anyway to run ubuntu via external hdd or flashdrive without secure boot or bitlocker issues?
I was Installing the Ubuntu on my pc for dual boot , but while installation it shows me an error , what's the issues and how i fix it? Should i remove all Ubuntu files from pc just like your Last part? Please Help 🙏
we dont have to create home and boot this time while installing 24.04 ?
Nicely explained.
Thank you so much 🙂
on my system, during the install some drives appear on the left sidebar and abort the installation process.
Don’t we have to alot the partition for swap area and root?
Will the ubuntu work on the dynamic disk?
7:57 If you choose "Manual installation" and select free space on the same drive as the Windows drive, will it still add Ubuntu files to the EFI system partition? Thank you.
Yes exactly, with manual partition you just need to create root partition that's it, swap is optional And the Ubuntu boot files will be installed to the Windows EFI partition, i.e the part partition of the windows drive.
It would be greate if you make a detailed video on how to customize ubuntu 22.04 like blur background transparency status bar ect ... not extreamely configured as it might reduce the speed and performance
It's coming very soon. Stay tuned.
Hi, could I separate my SSD this way and later on get another one and leave each system on a single SSD? Or would it be too much work and just not worth it? what do you say
It's upto you. If you want to install ubuntu alongside windows 11 on the same drive this is the process.
Otherwise, if you have spare SSD on your computer you can use it to install ubuntu. This is a hassle free method to do.
Will you be kind enough to create a video to safely format the bootable USB drive after installing Ubuntu?
Use SD Formatter tool.
you didnt show the memory allocation and swap partition
I installed Ubuntu in the same way, but my earphones' audio doesn't work while the inbuilt speakers do. I tried installing other distros like Fedora, Manjaro, and Mint, but I face the same issue on all of them. Even after disabling secure boot and setting up dual boot, I still don't get audio output from the headphone jack. However, everything works fine on Windows. If I install PulseAudio on Ubuntu, it doesn't work, and it even affects my Windows audio, causing it to stop working. What should I do?
While EarPods is connected to the computer, did u see your output device in sound settings ?
My windows are present in the SSD... I'm planning to install ubantu on the 2nd drive which is an HDD. So Same steps I need to do for windows 10 and different drive?
IN that case skip the free space allocation part in Windows just make a bootable USB to run ubuntu installer.
During the installation part, choose ERASE DISK and select your Second Drive and continue to install ubuntu. That's it.
@@kskroyaltech Can you make a video on this topic? there are no proper tutorial reagrding this topic... i just want to create new partition on my secondary HDD and install ubantu.
Same! Even i want to install Ubuntu on hdd
Thanksss a lott😭😭😭
Does selecting "install Ubuntu alongside other partitions"automatically select the free space we created?
Yes it will see the unallocated space and use it automatically.
Also, in case you didnt create an unallocated space though windows..... using this option directly allows to shrink the free space within the installer.
Hey thanks, video was of great help in dual boot. Just a doubt after dual boot is done when i enter windows os its timezone is not synced properly.
Any help on how to fix this issue?
Same problem
On windows, Go to settings, choose time and date and click on sync.
@@kskroyaltech thanks already done that but I thought it would be having some permanent fix, but no issue regarding that. Thanks for the help
Open the terminal and then type:
sudo timedatectl set-local-rtc 1
and then hit Enter to execute, fill the root password as you created, and then hit Enter again. The UBuntu should be permanently sync to local time based on CPU clock.
Okay, I am doing it exactly as on the video (except I turned off the encryption entirely on Windows 11 home, that apparently didn't have bitlocker). Had a bit of a journey trying to navigate bios of ASUS system, it worked out somehow.
Now it's installing, wish me luck😅
Edit:
Well, the system didn't prompt me to choose between windows and ubuntu, and automatically opened ubuntu after restart..I guess now we have issues
I should have disabled fast start and secure boot from windows setting, according to chatgpt.
Edit_2: okay, now it asks, after what I did to update grub configurations. I still think I messed up smth in Bios configuration part where you put your USB flash drive above boot manager because my ASUS Republic of games laptop's looked very chaotic and I just pressed what seemed right. Do you think it'll affect me somehow if everything seems to be working fine as of now?
Apparently now I need 20.04 LTS not 24.04. Should I remove the whole ubuntu?
Which is better dual boot or virtual machine if I have core i7
16gb ram 1tb ssd gpu rtx 3050 4gb
Dual boot for enhanced experience
Still some says security is better in Virtual machine
I am trying to install Ubuntu on windows pc but can't install.
I am a Intel user so i have to turn off the RAID and have to use AHCI (but the issue my bios it only detects sata drive . My pc is dell Inspiron 3593 model which has 240gb nvme on which windows is installed and i am trying to install on my other drive 1tb hdd). My AHCI only support Sata drive not NVME if enable it i can access my windows OS😭😭😭😭
Did you solve this problem? , same I have 236gb ssd and 1 tb hdd, I want to install Ubuntu on hdd.
@@chiggy7 Sadly, No to solve this problem I have remove my nvme 240gb ssd drive and will have to use only my 1tb HDD for dual boot which is a loss, in my bios my ACHI only detects sata drive no nvme support. So I opted for a Virtual machine but my virtual box runs like an absolute tortoise. Now I am trying to install Ubuntu on another virtual machine vendor. 🥹🥹
White Sur gtk themes works in this new version, make a video for the latest tho
Will test it soon.

Should I go For GPT or MBR partition scheme in rufus please reply...
MBR
@@fgh-tp7gj actually i researched and GPT turns out to be the best option for newer PC's of windows
I installed it but there is a problem my windows keep launching without an option to choose which os to pick i did make the grub time 30s and i did the timeout on winsows but still don't show up
Did u update the grub after changing the timeout value in ubuntu.
if not use the below command:
*sudo update-grub* and reboot..
Also, You can interrupt the grub timeout by using the arrow keys. This will disable the timer limit. And you have a time to choose linux or windows ..
Do I have to turn off intel virtualization technology in bios??
But WHY ??? Anyway, You will see an option in BIOS like VT-D .. Look for it and disable .
Hello, I removed Ubuntu partition but I forgot to delete Ubuntu loader from EFI. When I always start my laptop, I see GNU menu. So I always type 'exit' and skip it and go straight to window easily. But then today I couldn't do that as usual. What can I do for it please 😭
No worries, Power off, head over to BIOS SETTINGS, choose UEFI boot menu, and set Windows OS boot manager as default.
@@kskroyaltechThanks bro❤
You do not want to dual boot win and Linux. Use two different hdds and two different boot partitions. One on each hdd. Do it any other way and you will learn the hard way why I recommend this.
When you say learn the hard way; do you mean when there is a big Windows 11 update it will screw up the grub bootloader? Also like you say would make it simplier and less worry of having enough space.
Why are three finger gestures not working in ubuntu 24.04? How to enable them
Same here it was working in beta... Don't know why Gestures are buggy, I guess have to wait for point release for full stability.
Okay sir
Can i remove snap pakages and enable flatpak in ubuntu 24.04 lts
Why not you can do that no problem.
@@kskroyaltech thank you
Expected time for install?
5 min
Depends on the system speed. Max not more than 20 minutes.
Caution if you have Intel RST just did some changes windows curopted
I just installed ubuntu but now i m not able to load windows....
Please help
Go to bios and set the windows boot manager as default
Just an FYI, remember your audience. Probably some of them don't know commands for Windows 11, as they just started using it. Getting to the Run Command window then Windows Version should be explained. So, it's not a COMPLETE step-by-step tutorial, you're assuming.
Never mind, I will try to include a step by step instructions blog post and add a Link in the description. In future videos I will keep that in mind. Thanks for your suggestion and I will improve.
Bro you r awsome
i am getting error 'system program problem detected' after selecting tome zone
I understand it's totally normal. Ubuntu is having issues with the new installer. Just discard that message and continue.
I am getting error /caspervmlinuz/ something like this
See this thread: forum.zorin.com/t/casper-vmlinuz-not-found/3487/8
The only way , you will not uave problems with dual boot is when you install ubuntu on separated disk. I did that and it works fine for 3yrs..
YEs but not every computer comes with multiple disks, right.
I did that for my first ubuntu install but on my current one, both OS are on the same SSD and I've had no issues at all. I'm still using W10, however.
Hey, can anyone help me in installing Ubuntu on hdd . I have a windows 11 on ssd ,but the hdd disk type is dynamic, will it work for ubuntu?
@@chiggy7 Yes you can , just select hdd drive when you instaling , and whenever you hdd is plugged in you will have boot menu to chose to boot ubuntu or windows. But hdd is realy slow. I realy do not recommend it .
@@QuickNewsNow95 Now the problem is , I converted my basic hdd disk to dynamic disk by mistake, I have read somewhere that ubuntu doesn't work with the dynamic disk,so what do I do now?
while using rd ubuntu it says dir not empty
Write \s at end
*rd ubuntu \s*
