    Question How long does the gator Last your Family?

    • @TOOTHPIKSBBQ
      @TOOTHPIKSBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly once it gets cold, it’s not as tender. I prefer to fry cuts of it to smoking

      Good luck with your cook. Most likely they are using the loin meat since it’s tender . Most of that is in the tail.

      Haha!! Yeah that’s will fix that problem with you fishing . We are starting to see a few gators here in north Texas. I sure would hook a small one like you said and smoke him up!! Thanks for watching also

    Am I tripping or dis that first cut look like raw meat?

    • @TOOTHPIKSBBQ
      @TOOTHPIKSBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of the Gator meat a lot more red than other cuts. Smoke penetration also causes this on parts closer to the skin. I wouldn’t dare put raw meat on a video. Just doesn’t make sense. Some parts of gator are a lot more white like fish some or more pinkish. Gator is pale raw like cuts of raw fish, not beef

    Is a gator nothing but big lizard?..what does the meat taste like? I'm curious. I would never eat one. Poor thing.

    • @TOOTHPIKSBBQ
      @TOOTHPIKSBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly prefer it fried in small pieces. It can get tough once you let it cool off. Some of the meat is considered dart meat and some white. Also a cross between fish and chicken a little

    Hey, great video- much better than most of these “gator experts” on TH-cam.
    Only question is after you cut the final result- the top of the tail looked pink, almost like raw chicken. Was it undercooked? Is that fat? Or is it just different meat? Thanks a lot, cooking my gator in two weeks.

    • @TOOTHPIKSBBQ
      @TOOTHPIKSBBQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you and that was definitely the fat

  • @michaeljakubson2494
    @michaeljakubson2494 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    you can leave the fat in. wrap it in bacon hickory wood your all good!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What's the main food of a gators? And isn't the fat supposed to be the flavor in any wild game meats?

    • @TOOTHPIKSBBQ
      @TOOTHPIKSBBQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anything I would think!! The fat I cut out would not render!

    You did NOT glaze the entire gator. There was an area on the right side in front of the hind leg about 12,-inches by 4-inches that you missed totally!

    • @TOOTHPIKSBBQ
      @TOOTHPIKSBBQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Oh dang!! Don’t tell the principal! Well I’m not perfect. Just make sure if you do it, don’t miss any square inches!

    looks raw???? why is it so pink?? chicken color??

    • @TOOTHPIKSBBQ
      @TOOTHPIKSBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      That part is similar to the red line in fish. The consistency in gator is similar to fish and chicken. Some of that is from smoke . Trust me it wasn’t raw .
