- Traditional Indian dance forms have been used for centuries as medium for storytelling and instruction. Today, they take on yet another unique facet - that of inflight safety instructions. Air India’s new safety video features eight classical and folk Indian dance forms wherein each mudra or dance gesture corresponds to a different instruction.
Continuing on our journey to be a global airline, this is our ode to the India that we carry in our heart.
To the people who are saying the dances from their state were missed out- my dear Indians , India has a thousand dance forms, its not possible to fit every one of them into a single video. I hope y'all appreciate the initiative of Air India to show this in the first place❤
Well if you are so Interested in adding Pakistan to your Map, then why you didn't start preparing 4it by Including Dances 4m KP & S Sindh as well as Balochistan?

When I was in Europe, I saw so many Filipinos who were extremely racist against Indians. In fact, I would say the vast majority of Filipinos I met there were extremely prejudiced and racist towards Indians and other South Asians. It's nice to see someone who doesn't share their opinion.

Don't even try that. You will have a shock of your life - u may even stop flying after that. The video is to lure customers like you. No inflight system, no service. Its the Airlines for Indian elderly people speaking native languages. That is the only service and is the best. So don't even think of this venture. Flew yesterday (Sydney - Delhi) and the experience was terrible - search other videos on Air India complaints.

Which is hilarious and unfortunate at the same time because most of the Filipinos are always using discriminatory and racist language towards Indians on social media. Also they themselves got discriminated during covid era and immediately turned around and started disliking Indians.

Punjabi culture is almost entirely Standard North Indian culture, Sindhi is close to Kutchi, Saraiki and Rajasthani culture. The western half of Pakistan in the modern day has very little to do with Indian culture and is mostly Eastern Persian.
I assume the commenter you replied to was speaking from a Punjabi perspective and you replied with a Pashtun one. You must remember, Punjabi Muslims gave up their ethnic Punjabi identity in favour of an Urdu Muslim identity, but the other cultures of Pakistan did not. I think she mentioned the plight of her own Punjabi culture that they gave up on.

As an ex employee of Air India (I worked there for 28 years!) I am truly enthused that the new owners have begun to effect the changes that were long overdue. Absolutely brilliant video and whoever had the idea of creating this deserves to be congratulated big time! This safety demo video certainly is unique in concept and execution. Well done.

@@idkatthispoint-s9s Forget About PIA it is really in a bad situation to even afford its own survival, maybe in the past it could afford lavish & luxury campaigns, but it is now on survival mode. Earlier when it started its Uniforms were Even Designed by Paris Based Designer (Perre Cardin).
Getting back to your question maybe in the future it could design a nice campaign & including this dance is no big deal as definitely there might be some people who are interested in dance & could perform this 1 as well.

I used to fly with air india as inflight crew...watching this has brought tears of joy to my eyes...dont know why...i wish i cld rejoin and be a part of this fantastic change that air india is going thru...i loved every moment of my job & it was sad to see the company lose its sheen...its a joy to see it slowly start regaining it.
