Band Maid is extremely talented and one of the best hard rock band in the world ! They have more than 100 great songs on TH-cam and play many styles of music !! The Maids will be coming to the USA in 2022 !!! Great Reaction / New Subscriber =) ps some suggestions "Real Existence" Live "Play" Live or their first MV "Thrill" which saved this band 7 years ago.
Yes, Japan is killing it. Some people say that rock is not dead, it just moved to Japan. Band-Maid is another excellent all-female rock group from Japan. They play mostly hard rock, but as musicians they like to explore more music genres like jazz, funk, soul, etc. They also shine in their live performances. My next recommendations are “Real existence”, “Dice”, “Moratorium”, “Play”, “Freedom”, “Turn me on”, “Don’t you tell me”, “”Manners”, “Onset” (all live if possible) Other excellent Japanese all-female rock bands are Nemophila, Show-Ya (a legendary band active since the 80’s), Aldious, Bridear, Fate gear. Other excellent mixed or male bands are Asterism, Unlucky Morpheus, Galneryus, Versailles, Wagakki Band, D_Drive. Japan is the country with more all-female rock bands in the world. By the way, Band-Maid toured the USA in 2019 in small venues and it seems they are gonna do it again this year; of course, now they have so much more fans.
You made one point Jazz in Japan. I really like what is coming out of there with Miku Yonezawa on Sax and Siri on drums. As much as I like the drummers of Lovebites and Band maid Siri is on another level and far superior in every sense of the word!!
For my money it's Band-Maid all day every day. You have found the holy grail. They will amaze you with their 100+ song catalog. They are unique, creative, powerful and FUN. I've been searching for 40 years to find a band to fill the musical void and here they are. Band-Maid will never disappoint you. Best rhythm section in Rock. ONSET-LIVE, PLAY-LIVE, FREEDOM-LIVE will get you on your way to the knowledge that BAND-MAID is Awesome. Peace.
And for that awesome comment here are the links. ONSET. th-cam.com/video/mVrN-j_Uc0U/w-d-xo.html PLAY. th-cam.com/video/3LxX_t4vg7U/w-d-xo.html FREEDOM. th-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/w-d-xo.html
“They do music differently in Japan.” I think the difference is that they’re actually trained musically just as a basic foundation then write, compose and arrange beyond their own skill levels THEN they do the work to rise to that level of playing and performance. They’re not afraid to use their musical ideas for just one song, like bands from the West feel like they have to be careful not to run out of ideas so they hold back when creating music. Not Band Maid! Every song is maximum effort, Without Holding Back (awesome, mind-punching instrumental track).💪🏻🤘🏻
BAND-MAID was the first group I found when I decided to find new music. I was so impressed with the first three songs I heard that first night "Dice," "Blooming," and "Domination" that I thought about them all all the next day and devoured their catalog that night. I showed my wife who immediately loved them, too.
Welcome! It's taken me a few years, but I think I may have gotten my wife to move from tolerating my Band-Maid obsession to being open to go see them with me.
Band Maid is the greatest thing to happen to Rock this century and they have dozens of incredible songs/performances to explore... and the Madiacs will be out in force to help guide your way... but you've barely scratched the surface when it comes to the skill and proliferation of Japanese Rock Goddesses ..... also recommend: Gacharic Spin, and their chaotic punk/funk/progressive masterpiece "Mindset" th-cam.com/video/QmL0V667QzI/w-d-xo.html Hanabie "We love Sweets" with their lead singer's vocals that range from beelzebub to chipmunks on helium th-cam.com/video/G18yyvPCiTM/w-d-xo.html And of course supergroup Nemophila for whom 4 and 6 strings are not enough... either "Raite" or "Dissension" th-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/w-d-xo.html
Loved the reaction brother! Glad you get to experience this group keep those reactions to Band Maid coming I guarantee you will not be disappointed. You mentioned you like the double bass drum so I'm going to suggest their newest single Sense it's got some really driving drums it's on their official channel I'm sure you're getting a lot of suggestions so go with whatever you really can't go wrong with this amazing group of women. One note though they have a lot of different styles, it's all rock to one degree or another but it varies so expect that going in.
Bieber has been so impotent for the last 3 years that he has only done songs with others. Imagine: Black Hole feat. J.Bieber ... That's the real horror (Rinne) LOL
Band-Maid has a wide range. Here's a couple of songs from a recent live stream concert. The first one is a mellow groove, and the second is a headbanger. th-cam.com/video/iaf94nNSRGE/w-d-xo.html
Play FREEDOM live from this concert if you want to hear the drummer do a solo. Akane is her name. Jimmy Page liked her so much he had to go backstage to meet her after a concert. There's a picture out there of the two together.
A great choice! Welcome to the wild ride that is Band-Maid. I'd normally make a recommendation, but honestly, it's hard to go wrong with them. All I'll suggest is that you keep exploring more!
THE best live Rock band on Earth. Two members (MISA - Bass, Akane - Drums) are classically trained musicians who studied at the Tokyo Academy of Music while Kanami, the lead guitarist, has also been playing piano since the age of 3 or 4 but is concert standard (almost unbelievably, given her skills, she only switched to guitar about 10 years ago!) They all have superb musical ability as well as passion, a lack of ego and the drive to play real, in your face, Rock which is why they are THE best live Rock band on Earth right now. The only band I've seen that is playing live like bands I went to see in the 70's, such as Led Zeppelin or Sabbath or Zappa. Music they write themselves, real guitars, drums and bass played loudly and with passion as well as powerful Rock vocals. They are all really close friends and know how to have fun together on stage, confident as they are in each others’ abilities and skills. They've revived the classic Rock sound and given the genre a much needed kick in the ass, as Babymetal have done for Metal. Future reactions I'd recommend, as they really shine brightest live, would be from the same concert as this performance of Domination, which they released as a DVD 2020. FREEDOM: th-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/w-d-xo.html , PLAY: th-cam.com/video/3LxX_t4vg7U/w-d-xo.html , CHOOSE ME: th-cam.com/video/HcqitbXgigU/w-d-xo.html and WONDERLAND: th-cam.com/video/x4hxLeHbqZo/w-d-xo.html , though they have superb music videos too and so maybe have a look at their first one, THRILL: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html .
@@Metal_Auditor You're right stalrunner she was, but she only took it seriously again 10yrs ago. Same as her playing piano, Mincho said she wants to get better at playing it. I only accompany her playing "Chopsticks" after we've played doubles at tennis on Wednesdays :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 I guess at this point Kobato has been playing guitar about as long as Kanami had been at the time the band was founded. Of course, she doesn’t have the advantages that Kanami had being musically trained from an early age, and I imagine that she’s much busier and doesn’t have the time to practice that Kanami had as a teenager.
We....at one point or another, were all living under a rock !! Band Maid rekindled my love of music & turned me on to the Japanese music scene. I will Always Love them !!! ❤🎙🎸🥁🎹😎👌
G'day Cody. Glad to join your J-Music adventure. Band Maid is a favourite, although so many to enjoy (Gacharic Spin, Hanabie, Nemophila, Maximum the Hormone, Sokoninaru...) the list is long. If Rock is your jam, Band Maid is a special one, and can also keep you busy with many styles from acoustic ballad to punk pop to progressive rock. Enjoy the ride.
Every member of Band-Maid shines in every song, but for more killer drumming from Akane, check out "Warning", "Different" and "Sense". And be sure to look out for Nemophila's "Raitei" and Hanabie's "We Love Sweets". Other Japanese all-women bands include Hagane, Aldious, Gacharic Spin, etc.
well now you have the MAIDS to go along with LOVEBITES. imo the 2 best in hard rock and power metal. and like LOVEBITES live is the way to go. although their mv for 'dice, from 2018 is too good to miss along with all of their earlier mv's. th-cam.com/video/ZpAYnVJX9CY/w-d-xo.html
They have been my favourite band before, but after the acoustic online concert on Christmas I will love them forever. No idea how a band can make such a transition of Hard Rock songs to an acoutic version ( No God and Different ). Ubekievable. Still try also Nemophila a hard Rock/Metal Band from Tokyo. Raitei has some awsome guitar solos and also a crazy drum solo at the end. Worth to see and hear it.
FROM JAPAN ◆ Thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID. BAND MAID is celebrating its 8th year of formation. BAND was formed by a girl who came to Tokyo from a local city of Japan to become a singer when she was about 19 years old. Five unique and talented girls gathered. The members have not changed, and they are continuing their efforts to improve their playing ability. They are constantly writing new songs and cool songs. Three new songs were released at the end of October. BAND MAID is a hard rock band, but it's a very diverse band. Listen to different types of songs. 1 Thrill : The first music video that saved them from dissolution. Classic rock 2014 2 Sense : The theme song of the anime "Platinum End". Dramatic, fast hard rock with a classic intro. 2021.10 3 Bubble : A tribute to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, funky rock 4 Different : First anime opening song, new sense of high-speed rock. Anime is Log Horizon 3rd season. 2020.12 5 Daydreaming : Beautiful power ballad. Saiki and Kobato vocals and Kanami's guitar solo are wonderful. 6 Dice : Rhythmic hard rock singing women's independence 7 about us : A gift for fans who cannot meet in a pandemic. Beautiful ballad. 2021.02 8 Freedom : A power rock that walks around the stage and conveys a smile. The transition from drum solo to lead guitar is the best. 9 Manners : Declaration to create new hard rock while inheriting classic rock. Cool hard rock. Rock'n'Roll never die. 10 alone : The song they wrote, composed and released for the first time. Medium speed Hard Rock 2016 11 Secret My Lips & Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock. A gift for fans of April Fool's Day . 12 Blooming : Vocals and chorus are impressive, and various types of music are fused. 13 RINNE : High-speed rhythmic heavy rock, inspired by the Japanese horror movie "RINNE : Reincarnation". RINNE (Reincarnation) is also found in Eastern thought and Buddhist thought. 14 onset : Instrumental song for lead singer Saiki breaks, their great playing power and harmony. 15 Before Yesterday : Record of the first overseas performance, Sakura-Con in Seattle 2016. Melodic Rock with great lyrics. 16 Choose me : An insert song of the concert scene the Netflix movie KATE, they appeared as BAND MAID. Cool rock song. 17 Dragon Cry : The only song produced by Tony Visconti. It's not their lyrics, but it sings about the future of human society and the earth. Great Heavy Classic Rock . 18 After Life : A homage to the maid cafe and band formation where Kobato worked. BAND-MAID Hard Rock . 19 Corallium : The song that Saiki wrote all the lyrics for the first time. Hip pop style dancing hard rock. Added ★ Peace & Love : Founder Miku Kobato's solo project. Pigeon saves the world. Funky pop rock.
Another brand new person absorbed into the BAND-MAID ranks. Miku has been on a role the first few days of the new year. She might actually achieve World Domination™ by the end of 2022. 🕊 Enjoy life, enjoy BAND-MAID!
The Maids are my favorite Band on the planet! But all the Japanese girl band's are ultra talented! Just a matter of taste. Band Maid 🇺🇸 2022 has been announced. Waiting on dates and locations! Great Reaction Brother!😊😎✌🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
If you like rapid fire kickdrum check out “Rinne”. For more bass check out Manners/BLACK HOLE (live). I think you would also like Play and Onset (both live videos).
Welcome aboard, Cody. You are embarking on (along with many others - 130 million YT views!) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (118 songs with their latest album, “Unseen World” and new single drops), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their later songs from albums Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, H-G-K, Black Hole, Sense, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts! And many are represented with over 40 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts. Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 (bandmaidprime.tokyo) and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids are excellent. Here’s four of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. These two taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: th-cam.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/w-d-xo.html, and a fun, wonderful live performance in Amsterdam of Miku introducing "Don't You Tell Me" (with MISA & Kanami's great instrumental exchange) and "Turn Me On” (with MISA's solo intro): th-cam.com/video/kfYQoWBlSpk/w-d-xo.html. The next one was taken by JT Dayo in LA: th-cam.com/video/4uIYBkAybCI/w-d-xo.html, and finally by JOSER8845 in LA: th-cam.com/video/usWZvlGGDSs/w-d-xo.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 27 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 30 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 30 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 31 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 29 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. [BAND-MAID NEWS] ■ BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. ** NEW ** Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have finally included the ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts at their Prime website! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. Those concerts are two of the best produced & performed concerts ever recorded, IMO. bandmaidprime.tokyo/ ■ BAND-MAID BREAKING NEWS Their Christmas acoustic concert was unbelievable. Replays are now available. And BAND-MAID USA TOUR 2022 will be held! Yea! Details will be announced as soon as possible. bandmaid.tokyo/contents/486225
Japan is amazing these days. This very song, Domination, got me into Jrock. And that lead to Lovebites, and others... But Japan is not the only place where estrogen is asserting itself. There's Mexico. The Warning. A power trio of sisters. Check them, if you have not already.
I see you are a man of culture and enjoy some proper double bass drums. Akane, the Band-Maid drummer, does too! Without wasting more time, here are some Band-Maid songs with great double bass action: Play (Official Live) - The song could be renamed to "Akane loves triplets" Rinne (MV) - That metal intro with hard and fast double bass. Secret My Lips (MV) - Has one of my favorite double bass pattern of all time.
Their another live 2020 songs Freedom(long Drum solo's), Play, On Set, Real Existence, Don't You Tell Me(bass and guitar battle), Secret My Lips, live 2021 Thrill, Sense, Manners, No God, After Life, Difficult... Bro, check also another all Japanese female Metal Bands NEMOPHILA - songs Revive, Dissension, Raitei(Thunder), Hypnosis HANABIE - song We Love Sweets(this girls will surprised you) TRIDENT-JAPAN - songs Voltage, No Regret, ASTERISM - songs Gunfire, Rising Moon, Dawn, Light In Darkness 😀
The music of these ladies makes me forget my mother language sometimes. :) I absolutely agree with you. What these ladies from Japan deliver is unparalleled here in the West. And while most bands have to be satisfied with one or at most two really talented musicians, Band-Maid has a real luxury problem, because without exception each of these five ladies is outstanding at what they do. Without exaggerating, the journeys these ladies take you on all end up at the same destination. A >wonderland< for the ears. ...Quite discreetly, I have included a recommendation for another song by them. Should this not be recognizable, songs like 'Play', 'Freedom', 'Onset' (each live) or 'Dice' (MV) are also good stops. :) Greetings from the German Maidiacs division. _____________________ 【 _Our rock never dies ever. Forever!_ 】- from BAND-MAID 'Manners' 🕊️
Welcome to the pigeon hole! You're starting a journey with 5 incredibly talented ladies who know how to rock. You're going to get rock mixed with pop, punk, metal, blues, jazz or whatever else they decide throw at you. Enjoy the ride!
Nemophila now, dude. 5 World Class Tier Japanese young ladies who “live the fluffy life, but play hard as Hell!” They are more straight up Metal but love flirting with other genres for fun. They’re official channel is FULL of awesome original uploads as well as fun covers they learn, record and upload from their Jam Room (it’s actually their drummer’s jam room. She is also a famous solo artist in high demand). Nemophila will blow your mind and have you seeing hearts in your eyes.💪🏻🤘🏻
In an interview here on TH-cam Saiki and Miku indicated that they intersperse English for two reasons one people in Japan think it's cool, second it helps reach out to the English-speaking audience and keep them engaged.
The great thing about Band Maid is that they are their own genre. Most bands sound the same song to song. These girls will throw pop, rock, punk, metal, thrash all in one song. Best live band on the planet.
@@jkkansasband7056 Absolutely right. If Moses hadn't been dyslexic & read the first commandment wrong, people would've been listening to B-M much earlier :)
Five musicians with talent off the scale led by a genius lead guitar/ composer. Drummer, bass, rhythm guitar, singer all world class. The best band in the world.

At least 3 in BAND-MAID started very young with piano and moved to other instruments. They are: Akane-drums Misa-bass Saiki-lead vocals Miku-founder, guitar and vocals Kanami, aka Kanamincho-songwriter and lead guitar. The band has also referred to her as sensei.
The 0nly band I know of where the lead singer looked around and said "Hey I'm gonna fire myself and do backing vocals and rythm guitar we'll get an even BETTER singer and be really really great instead of just real good!
And the only band I know where after firing herself, picks up the guitar for the first time and becomes a student of the lead guitarist, who would eventually write an entire instrumental song to assist her in her progression as a guitarist ("Don't Be Long"). The members of this band are really good friends.
Welcome to the world of Band-Maid, enjoy your journey down the pigeon hole (you'll get it soon), and one of the best rock bands in the world right now. You are exactly right about the Japanese rock and metal ladies killing it, but you should also check out The Warning, three sisters from Mexico who will also rock your world ! Enjoy :)
Hi Cody, be ready as your life is going to change dramatically in an amazing way. I will not say anything else and I will not suggest any song just pick one, simple, because The Holy Grial of Rock is In Your Face...and you are a lucky boy like us. Welcome to the BAND MAID Family

Upbeat metal is very good description. Welcome to our club of masters and princesses! Just enjoy!
Buckle up Hoss... if you choose to go down this Pigeon hole. No other all female Japanese band is as diverse as Band-Maid, IMHO. If you only like metal go elsewhere, if you like traditional rock, hard rock, jazz, blues, metal, progressive rock, Circus thrash metal, punk, acoustic, and ballads then stick around because Band-Maid can give you all these in one song. Fun react ..thanks! Hope you stick around
Band-Maid it amazing and by far my favorite group, but since you like hearing the double bass, you should also check out Junna. She used to play in a group called Girls Rock Band Kakumei, but now just does covers. They had a great song just before she left the band called Voltage.
There are a lot of great mixed gender (examples:Tricot, Sokinanaru, Wagakki Band, Necry Talkie, Polkadot Stingray, Maximum the Hormone) and all male (examples: King GNU, 88KASYO Junrei (well the bassist is gender fluid), Toe) bands in Japan also. There are a plethora of genres and much genre mixing. Band Maid, for example, sort of started as pop-rock, but quickly transitioned into hard rock with funk, metal and blues influences, but still with a catchy pop sensibility
Join the Maidiac's.. Official Live, "Real existence", "Play", "Freedom", "Onset" and "Take me Higher"... MV's are ok for "Dice", "Manners", "Blooming", "Warning"..
Now that you've discovered the "rabbit hole" (or in the case of Band-Maid alone, the "pigeon hole") of woman-fronted J-Rock, you're gonna be busy - enjoy! I'll try to enjoy your discoveries with you.
I first heard them 6 years ago with "Choose Me" and was hooked. My #1 band ever since. Saiki has said she is not that comfortable singing in English. But like everything else they do, they work on getting the details right and then practice the hell out of it. When there is time in the schedule at a venue before a concert, they have been known to practice their entire two hour set, take a short break, and slam down the two hour set AGAIN with full enthusiasm. They love delivering for their audience! Which is why they all work out three days a week to stay strong, like warriors. I think they are superheroines of rock.
MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃 Badass Bass Assassin and Band-Maid are the best Hard Rock band in the world right now 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼Band-Maid MV's are very good but their Live videos are 10 times better because you can see how talented these 5 musicians really are and how much fun they have on stage with each other. They are coming back to tour the US this year and I'm hoping to see Band-Maid again. You should check out the official Live versions of Play, Onset, Freedom, Manners/Black Hole, Real Existence, After Life, Warning and Choose Me just to get you started. Then one of the few Maidiacs can help you with those hard to find Live links of Don't You Tell Me, Moratorium, Take Me Higher, Turn Me On, Puzzle (both electric and acoustic version) WELCOME to Band-Maid 🤙🏼
Band Maid, Lovebites, make three and also listen to NEMOPHILA another all-female band, also Japanese, four girls who have dynamite in their blood, listen to the song "REVIVE" or "DISSENSION" in Japan there are an infinite number of all-female bands, the bulk is underground and only heard on the radio in the motherland, bands born in Tokyo to Osaka to Yokohama, but all really incredible, extraordinary!
You must listen more andmore Bandmaid. They are the ones! But of course you may check bands like Nemophila and Bridear and Tokyo Jyoshi,You´ll never feel disappointed
Most bands are about the music, Band Maid is about the music and the fans. And it seems there is no ego in any of them when it comes to performing since they all take part in the final product. Great music!
The music scene in japan is something else. Especially from the females. I could list countless bands for you to check out. Band-Maid is the cream of the crop, but I highly recommend checking out the alt-idol scene someday. I never realised that my life was missing cute Japanese girls singing and dancing to heavy music with a nice blend of EDM and hip-hop thrown in. It has changed my perception on music lol. I'll give you some links to a couple of my favourites to check out if you fancy a trip down the scene. Yes, there are a a lot of all female Japanese bands out there. Aldious, Doll$Boxx, Mary's Blood, Trident, Ganglion and am sure even more I have yet to find.
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Band-Maid. You'll never be the same again and will become a Madiac! I'm sure others here will give you the history of the band.
Welcome to the Pigeon Hole! It's not a Rabbit Hole. That's Alice In Wonder Land. It's not a Foxhole. That's BabyMetal. Dive in Deep! You have no idea what you're getting into. But you'll love it!
Some Japanese bands. Take your pick: BAND-MAID [All their songs... really!], LOVEBITES [Break the Wall, Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], DEXCORE [Red Eye], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die Tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], GRAUPEL [Bereavement], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance], SOKONINARU [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], LYNCH [Devil], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], JUPITER [My Enemy], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], BLOOD STAIN CHILD [Del-Sol], NEMOPHILA [Dissension], DADAROMA [Lucid Dream], JILUKA [Lluvia], HANABIE [We Love Sweets], and many many more...
This was also the 22nd song in a 23-song set. And they still put out this kind of energy.
21st song was "Play". You can find it in their official TH-cam channel.
My next recommendations are “Real existence”, “Dice”, “Moratorium”, “Play”, “Freedom”, “Turn me on”, “Don’t you tell me”, “”Manners”, “Onset” (all live if possible)
Other excellent Japanese all-female rock bands are Nemophila, Show-Ya (a legendary band active since the 80’s), Aldious, Bridear, Fate gear.
As much as I like the drummers of Lovebites and Band maid Siri is on another level and far superior in every sense of the word!!
i agree Martin, rock was squeezed out here in the U.S. by these young kids today who think they are playing rock, so it moved to Japan
The Maids have around 110 songs so far, so you will have a fair amount of Maid reactions to come, if you choose to.
Peace.

@@GaryHolloway-810 Thanks Gary. When I add links they don't turn blue. 😨
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Beautiful experience for sure. 👍💪🤟
Welcome! It's taken me a few years, but I think I may have gotten my wife to move from tolerating my Band-Maid obsession to being open to go see them with me.
You never showed me, Pale Horse, but i love you too :)
Band Maid is the greatest thing to happen to Rock this century and they have dozens of incredible songs/performances to explore... and the Madiacs will be out in force to help guide your way... but you've barely scratched the surface when it comes to the skill and proliferation of Japanese Rock Goddesses ..... also recommend:
Gacharic Spin, and their chaotic punk/funk/progressive masterpiece "Mindset" th-cam.com/video/QmL0V667QzI/w-d-xo.html
Hanabie "We love Sweets" with their lead singer's vocals that range from beelzebub to chipmunks on helium th-cam.com/video/G18yyvPCiTM/w-d-xo.html
And of course supergroup Nemophila for whom 4 and 6 strings are not enough... either "Raite" or "Dissension"

There is a tide of Bieberites invading the music world. BAND-MAID are an impossibly Hard Rocking band that is trying to stem the flood :)
The Great Band-Maid Dam. Visible from space. I like it.
@@tonygriffin_ I like that. Longer than the Great Wall of China & no one walks all over them :)

I thought Kanami started playing guitar in early high school (like around 14 or 15) That would mean she's been playing for around 15 years.
@@Metal_Auditor I wrote the comment 5 years ago and have been cutting and pasting it since then! Also she only took it seriously about 10 years ago.
@@GaryHolloway-810 You and your tall tales about Band-Maid! I know for a fact you only play tennis with Kanami-sama on mondays.
We....at one point or another, were all living under a rock !! Band Maid rekindled my love of music & turned me on to the Japanese music scene. I will Always Love them !!! ❤🎙🎸🥁🎹😎👌
In my opinion, the japanese rock and metal scene are superior now (and for the past 10 years or so!). Fantastic bands and musicians!

Spread the love, spread the word - Band Maid is touring the US later this year (dates pending)!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Next try “Play” - official live video
My three favorite bands right now are all women from Japan - Lovebites, Nemophila, and Bandmaid. They are putting most men to shame right now.
Classic rock 2014
2 Sense : The theme song of the anime "Platinum End". Dramatic, fast hard rock with a classic intro. 2021.10
3 Bubble : A tribute to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, funky rock
4 Different : First anime opening song, new sense of high-speed rock. Anime is Log Horizon 3rd season. 2020.12
5 Daydreaming : Beautiful power ballad. Saiki and Kobato vocals and Kanami's guitar solo are wonderful.
6 Dice : Rhythmic hard rock singing women's independence
7 about us : A gift for fans who cannot meet in a pandemic. Beautiful ballad. 2021.02
8 Freedom : A power rock that walks around the stage and conveys a smile.
The transition from drum solo to lead guitar is the best.
9 Manners : Declaration to create new hard rock while inheriting classic rock. Cool hard rock. Rock'n'Roll never die.
10 alone : The song they wrote, composed and released for the first time. Medium speed Hard Rock 2016
11 Secret My Lips & Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock.
Enjoy life, enjoy BAND-MAID!

And many are represented with over 40 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.

Secret My Lips (MV) - Has one of my favorite double bass pattern of all time.
I love these first time looks at Band Maid. They have no clue what they are in for and it is great to watch the reactions every time.
Their another live 2020 songs Freedom(long Drum solo's), Play, On Set, Real Existence, Don't You Tell Me(bass and guitar battle), Secret My Lips, live 2021 Thrill, Sense, Manners, No God, After Life, Difficult...

NEMOPHILA - songs Revive, Dissension, Raitei(Thunder), Hypnosis
HANABIE - song We Love Sweets(this girls will surprised you)
TRIDENT-JAPAN - songs Voltage, No Regret,
ASTERISM - songs Gunfire, Rising Moon, Dawn, Light In Darkness 😀
The music of these ladies makes me forget my mother language sometimes. :)
I absolutely agree with you.
Greetings from the German Maidiacs division.

At least 3 in BAND-MAID started very young with piano and moved to other instruments.
They are:
Akane-drums
Misa-bass
Saiki-lead vocals
Miku-founder, guitar and vocals
Kanami, aka Kanamincho-songwriter and lead guitar. The band has also referred to her as sensei.
These girls are the real deal
If you like breakdowns, try the songs Dissention and Oiran by Nemophila, an all-female metal band.
Good reaction, you have alot to learn about J-rock and Band-Maid especially. Keep digging.
The 0nly band I know of where the lead singer looked around and said "Hey I'm gonna fire myself and do backing vocals and rythm guitar we'll get an even BETTER singer and be really really great instead of just real good!
Gosh.. you made me cry..!
Enjoy :)
Check the playlist on the channel. I've got some of The Warning already!
MV's are ok for "Dice", "Manners", "Blooming", "Warning"..
...and lo, a new Maidiac is born.
According to the new top 15 Japanese rock bands, Band Maid is at #2! They should be the #1 band!
Who's #1 according to that list?
@@P3wP3wPanda Miyavi, who also appeared in the Kate movie with Band Maid.
These girls are incredible. I’ve been listening to them for years. They are world class musicians. Next level talent.
Welcome on this board too. One of the holy trinity of mine : The Warning, Band-Maid and Nightwish. Greets from the Nightwishland a.k.a Finland 🇫🇮
Please check out Onset live guys!! Think you will like it!!!
And NEMOPHILA other great all female Japanese
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Band Maid and J rock
Your journey has just begun, enjoy it.

BAND MAID is sick. Akane and Kanami are the happiest musicians I've ever seen. Aldious is another sick band that shreds really well too.
Yes, there are a a lot of all female Japanese bands out there. Aldious, Doll$Boxx, Mary's Blood, Trident, Ganglion and am sure even more I have yet to find.
Best rock band on the planet
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Band-Maid. You'll never be the same again and will become a Madiac! I'm sure others here will give you the history of the band.
Any song will be exciting.👍
