listen honey, I am as typical of a guy as you can possibly get and when I tell you anybody, regardless of age, gender, or anything else can do this themselves on the cheek is no lie or understatement. Honestly, there are so many different products out there you just have to experiment and find one that you are comfortable mixing and applying yourself. At first it’s going to be a little intimidating, but trust me, you can do this. All you have to do is find a shade that will work with your hair color. If you are doing your roots, then don’t be afraid to go a little bit darker than the rest of your hair, if you have a long hair I get it that it’s probably easier to have a professional go through the trouble of applying it to your hair and then wrapping it etc. but for the roots anybody can do that. And if you have short hair I would say anything under 12 inches. You should absolutely be able to do the whole thing yourself and save a ton of money.

I have watched so many hair videos and not one has given me any hope. This is exactly what I want!! I got the exact color you use and I gave it a try only on my front root area to test it out and I’m impressed!!!! I can’t thank you enough for these videos!! I've just started to get a few strands of white (gray) hair...
I've continued to use Loreal, Clairol - but it is often not covering the white strands.
They look like "highlights" for now, but as they start coming in more and more, I'm sure that I will use your hair coloring process to treat the roots.
Thank you for explaining your process so well - and showing how you section off the hair to color the roots so well.
Thank you for explaining the Shea Moisturizing products too...
    Great video.
I like the hair color that you chose.
I have not yet tried Revlon haircolor yet, but will look for this shade when I am ready to retouch the roots!
    Thank you!

Thanks for your absolutely perfect video. I see that it's about 2 years old but it certainly helped me a lot as my skin and hair coloring is the same as yours. This was perfect for me to apply over my silver hair that was covered with blonde by a colourist. But I want to do it myself. So I'm after these long silver Roots as yours were at the time. You are so beautiful and although I'm 75, I am using you as this perfect model to stay softly blonde into my 80s possibly. 😊

Good video. I have dyed my hair since I was 15. About 2 shades lighter than my natural hair color. I had to stop at 35 and hire a stylist. I followed the directions on my box dye and shampooed it in at the end and it burnt my hair. I am now (65) back to doing my own hair again. I love the way you emphasize that you only do the grey. It’s very important so you’re not over-processing your hair. I buy the hair color and developer separately now to make sure I’m being the kindest I can be to my hair. Love your color btw.

Thank you for the video. Your hair turned out great. I have the same issue with the white silver and mousy gray in the back. I have the pink scalp also, I hate it! Anyway, my hair is short and it's more difficult to get just the roots. I'm growing it out. I use Revlon dark ash blonde also, but I've been wanting to try med. Ash blonde but I'm not sure if it will cover roots as well. I thought I was the only on with this issue...lol thanks again.

I just watched the video, and I colored my hair last night using the same brand, but I use the champagne blonde, which is similar to the color you use. My hair does the exact same thing that yours does growing out. Lighter in the front, darker in the back. And yes, the pesky hair around the ears that just doesn’t want to hold the color that great, ugh! Pink scalp too, lol. My hair is just past my shoulders and I use 2 bottles and do all the hair, I find that coloring actually makes my hair more manageable, not sure why, maybe because the white and gray scattered through out my hair are the parts that seem more coarse, along with some parts being straight and other areas being wavy. I condition my hair really good, and I enjoy trying different brands so I’ll have to try the shea. Anyway, so glad I came across your channel. I look forward to watching more of your videos. :)

I am a natural blonde and I have been told that this is very common with natural blondes. I too just blend into my gray. Only I do color and highlights. I do highlight blending about every 6-8wks. And I’ll do a full color to roots only once or twice a year just for balance. Sorta lowlights/highlights. I love it.

I let my hair grow out gray and went shorter and yesterday I just got a comment if I was my younger sister's mother!!!! 🌺🌺🌺 It is totally NORMAL to have ‘lighter’ grey hair in the front of your head and variations within sections. I used to do hair years ago....Also, you could start the color process in the back instead of starting in the front to offset the ‘darker’ in the back situation. Personally, I like the light to dark graduation effect. I also use the SAME Revlon product and I think it is the BEST drugstore/box hair dye and extremely inexpensive!! But the SA cover is for the face, once I used it on my head, my hair finally stopped breaking. Give it some thought, and I LOVE your hair :)

You are lucky that you found the right color to use on your hair to apply to the roots to make it match the rest of your hair. It looks very pretty. I keep my hair highlighted too at this point, but I pay to have it done. I used to highlight my own hair when I was younger and was pretty good at it too. I don’t want to mess with it now. Thank you so much for doing this video! Would Revlon Ultra Light Natural Blonde or the Ultra Light Ash Blonde do the same thing on your hair? I'm wondering why you choose such a dark shade of blonde and how it is that you end up with hair that is so much lighter? • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty

I've tried the lighter shades in the past, but unfortunately they do very little to cover my white roots. I guess I need more color, or pigment, in the product to actually make a difference, since it's not a "lift" of color I need, but rather a "deposit." I've just come to learn that using a darker shade of blonde will deposit enough color to cover my silver roots adequately, but still lighten over time to the shade I prefer. I hope that makes sense.❤️😘

Nothing like silver roots shinning through dark hair. I, unfortunately started going gray at 16! Ughhhhh! I don't like using the products with ammonia but I think I have to because i can't get the white covered. I think the Ash is too dark.

Have you ever had trouble with the ash? I used the Revlon Golden Blonde and it turned a reddish color. I'm so nervous about trying a new color. I was told to not use anything with Ash but I can't remember why. I have gray hair, also.

Ash doesn't suit all complexions.. made me look ill.. but beige or champagne blonde are much better , neutral instead of cool..

I’ve only got a couple of pure white widows peaks and the rest is all mouse brown still so I guess I’ll have to try and put this exactly on those bits. That will be tricky! I’m afraid I’ll have two dark patches but I guess I can always lighten the when I do my roots. My white hair will not grow anymore just two inches , does anyone else have that weirdness? Two tufts of dry short white hair! I swear I’m so close to cutting my bangs again if this doesn’t work. Thanks for taking the time, I’m excited to try it

Looks great Jenifer. So good you found something that works for you & is easy. I also have been doing my hair for years I have the same white silver hair and been a blonde all my life I too have pink scalp which I thought I was the only one that did and I am 57, and My hair is a really pretty shiny white gray but I’m not ready for it and I don’t feel like it looks bad I do think it however ages us I just love keeping my hair the blonde like it always naturally was. I agree the greatest give us a good blank Canvas and definitely helps keeping the brassiness down. Through the pandemic I found toners to be so helpful and not very harmful on my hair and then I hardly have to highlight my hair as often because it’s so damaging.

I feel like we share the same silver hair struggles!! But just like you I’m not going to throw in the towel until I’m 80, haha!! I’ve been using a mix of L’Oreal Superior preference, med ash blonde (18) and light ash blonde (19). I used 1/2 of each colour for one use and save the rest for another time ( un-mixed of course!!) Great video! 💕

I think I might try something like that next time because although I do like a darker root at times, sometimes I want to keep it lighter, especially around my face. Happy Thanksgiving! ❤️🥰

I do my hair like you, but I use 2 boxes, a light blonde and an ash blonde miss clarol, so I don't get an orange tinge to my hair.

Great video Jenifer. I use the same.color as you on my roots. Then two months later, I alternate and go to the salon and let the stylist do a base color on the roots and a few highlights. I believe that I could do it myself each time and save some money. Your videos are giving me confidence to do it. Now the haircut is a different story. I feel like I mess that up when I try to cut it myself. Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃❤️

Yes, Jenifer..my hair grows in silvery WHITE. And, I agree about the scalp area looking pink there. Unfortunately, I have dark hair (colored); being blonde has to be somewhat easier to touch up the regrowth. I'm just not ready for white hair, though it's lovely on some women. I hate the mess at home, but, the salon is pricey and I hate the time "wasted" in there. Also, I feel like I'm seeing roots two weeks later. 🙄 Colorsilk is a great brand. I enjoyed this a lot; TFS. Have a very happy Thanksgiving. Rosemarie 💖

So my question is, "Do you think you had hair shed due to the reaction of the hair dye/ lighter?
I had this happen to me on August. I dyed my hair underneath and my whoe head started shedding. Well then for next next two months after that I was stressed so I think it made it worse...
I also have been dyeing my hair and blanching it off and on since I was 13. October I tested a strand of hair in the back and it shed in that spot.

Hello Jenifer, I love your channel. I do have gray hair like yours and dye it myself. It's really hard to dye all my roots correctly from the front to the back at one session. I always miss spots on the back. I think I'm going to start dying my roots separately the front and the back. Do you do that?

    • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty
      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Lol! I think we all have that problem.😁 I used to separate my hair horizontally in the back with little ponytails so I wouldn’t miss a spot but it was a little time consuming so I got lazy. ❤️😘

    Try purchasing a natural blonde
lace frontal wig. You can pick out
    the blonde highlights and colors
you want for the wig, I know a
company call His & Hers wigs
    make custom wigs check online
there is a store in New York and
Los Angeles that use to make
them on at they locations ok, so
    good luck and happy coloring💆🏼‍♀️

Hi jenifer I have the exact same issue you have with white hair. It’s horrible… I started getting lighter highlights so that it’s less noticeable when growing in. My scalp is pink as well and white in other areas. I have the same white hair issue in my eyebrows. It sucks getting older. Anyway you look great can u share what supplements you take. I started getting bioidentical pellets to deal with hormonal issues and it helps me a lot with joint pain, sex drive and just overall feeling better. I get them every 4 months. Wow what a difference it’s made. Like you I am not going all grey yet… not ready for it.

    • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty
      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I've never heard of bioidentical pellets. Probably because I haven't had to deal with hormonal imbalances yet, but I'm sure it's right around the corner for me. However, I'm happy to hear that they are working so well for you!😊 Aside from a mulit-vitamin, I take extra Vitamin D, Zinc, Selenium, Magnesium and Vitamin C. I also use 2 scoops of Collagen powder daily and drink protein shakes regularly. Happy Holidays! ❤️🥰
