Good video,I am buying a house in Cerritos pereira(which as a Colombian, never been to)and I am doing a lot of research about “La Zona Cafetera”and the insight of you guys has been very helpful
Don't know if you know or if it's something you're actually looking for. But it tends to get hotter in Cerritos than other parts of the zona cafetera, but the houses are beautiful there. Just food for thought. Good Luck with your property search and welcome to our channel!
Great insights. I’m married to a Colombian women, grew up in Miami area, so I’ve hade a copious amount of business with Colombian people. What I’d add to your excellent commentary is; street crime is street crime and happens in the states or elsewhere. Expat hopefuls should maintain street awareness as usual. Here is the issues I’ve had dealing with Colombians…my comments are not an absolute indictment of all Colombians, just my factual experiences. It’s not necessarily street crime an expat has to overly worry about…..it’s scam artist who come as professionals, realtors, construction contractors, local businesses and ABSOLUTELY any Colombian family you may have. In my many experiences, I’ve seen this as the absolute main issue. The situation is similar in Southeastern USA. A slow talking curious southern gentleman wearing a suit will stick it to a city person, we city folks let our guards down. Point is; don’t let the pretty women in Colombia fool you or the two piece wearing nice Colombian male. Do your due diligence. Alex, was hoping you could talk about any threats of natural disasters in the coffee triangle, like earthquakes etc. healthcare, first responders… Do you have contingency plans for if U.S. dollar fails? Dollar fails and in states will be plenty bad, but would destroy many Colombians and probably not a good place to be if you have a little something as an American expat. I’ve looked into investing in this area for many years now, but haven’t executed any deals. Any suggestions on where to find decent real estate? The houses in this area looking at realtor dot com show many properties that rival Florida prices. Thanks PS…does Colombian law allow for home firearms?
Great talking points!!! Had some of these scheduled for future chats. And others you have created more content for me! Thanks Woody. Stay tuned, was thinking about doing a weekly live to chat with everyone.
Sorry I missed this Alex! Maybe next time. Thanks for the video! I like the Top 5 things that you don't like and agree with the Motorcycles. They drive crazy for sure! But, one of the best things is the culture and the way families are tight but welcoming!
