Travelling to NORTHERN ARGENTINA (Overnight Bus) + First Impressions of TUCUMAN ☀️

  • It's time to say goodbye Cordoba, hello Tucuman! In today's video, we begin the long overland journey to northern Argentina. Our next stop: the province of Tucuman, which happens to be the smallest province in Argentina.
    We said goodbye to our cosy cottage in the sierras of Cordoba, made a little pit stop in the city of Alta Gracia to visit some Jesuit ruins, dropped the rental car off at the airport, took a taxi to the bus terminal, and then hung around a diner while we waited to catch our overnight bus to the city of San Miguel de Tucuman.
    Our first impressions of Tucuman were very positive! We rented an apartment that was just a few blocks from the main square, and for our first meal in the city, we treated ourselves to some classic northern Argentine food: empanadas, humitas, tamales and locro (a hearty stew with squash, corn, beans and meat).
    Later that afternoon we visited the Historical House of Tucumán, where the Argentine Declaration of Independence was issued on July 9, 1816!
    We also booked a tour for the following day, so stay tuned for an action-packed day visiting some of Tucuman's top attractions.

    La señora vendiendo empanadas en 11:14/11:15 se llama Sara Figueroa y fue campeona nacional de la empanada muchas veces.Fuera de la ciudad de Famaillá, capital de la empanada, las empanadas de doña Sara son las mas ricas que se consiguen en San Miguel de Tucumán o lo eran, soy vegetariana y no consumo carne. Doña Sara tenía una peña folclorica y su especialidad eran las empanadas obviamente, cerró por problemas económicos por eso tiene un lugar de venta callejera en la cuadra de la casa histórica, es muy famosa en la provincia.
    ¡Son excelentes embajadorxs de los lugares que visitan!
    Espero que hayan pasado lindos momentos en Tucumán ¡vuelvan pronto!.
    Saludos.

      @samuelandaudrey  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks like we passed out and didn't pick up the camera, sorry! The journey was pretty good. We mainly do overnight buses when we have to travel long distances in Argentina and we try to upgrade to the VIP sleeper class when possible. Depending on the length of the journey you get dinner & breakfast, and you make a few stops in major cities to pick up passengers along the way. It's an affordable way to get around.

    Great video! In Brazil, automatic cars are also not the most used ones, manual one rule. But that's because automatic cars are more expensive comparing to manual. I would say 20% to 30% more expensive. Tucumán looked very interesting! Specially the food (that soup in the bread was 😋). Loved those cats in the cottage you stayed in Cordoba, to me they would be like an extra good feature of the place!

    • @samuelandaudrey
      @samuelandaudrey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2
