  • From the Walter Vaughn WIL-AM/FM (St. Louis) Midwest Country Countdown archives---a phone interview from September 9, 1973 with Webb Pierce, who had more number 1 country chart hits during the 1950s than any other artist. This interview takes place right before the release of "When You're Living In Hell" as a 45 (which failed to chart), and around the time of his last LP for Decca/MCA Records, "I'm Gonna Be A Swinger", after a 20-year relationship with the company.
