This video was outstanding. I never heard of this abbey, but obviously it was very important to Robert the Bruce. It was very informative to hear about the back-history with Bishop Lamberton, who, before Bruce and James Douglas became close friends and allies, supported Douglas financially--Douglas acting as a squire for him. I never heard of this place before, and now I must see it if I ever get back to Scotland!
    Also very interesting about Wallace.
I love how you teach history and all the ramifications on location!

It is a very interesting place for sure and somewhere i want to return to, not too far a journey for me and a string sense of place to be had there. . .I shot this video while I was still becoming accustomed to camera so the sound is poor but something I will redo but better. I did think it was worth posting it all the same. Thanks for the feedback Darlene.

Bishop Lamberton, a true hero of Scotland. The subject matter is wonderful, but please re do the commentary spoilt by the wind. …it’s important that those who do not know the background are fully acquainted

Thank you for the feedback, I agree. It took me a while to become a bit more tech savvy, since I have now purchased a mic for my camera with wind buffer (dead cat), etc…
Always looking to upgrade the quality. I’ll be back at Cambuskenneth many times to come.
Bishop Lamberton, quite a character, and I can imagine King Edward I thoughts and casting eyes on him, especially with how well he and Bruce got on, that must have been evident no matter how secret their pact was…

It is indeed! As long as Bruce lived, after Bannockburn, he somewhat achieved that, but for a short time until the second wars.
