very very very good - it's not just that she can hold long or high notes and can act - her sound of her voice is just a lot more pleasant than any other broadway singers I know

I think she has humbled a lot over this experience of being the target of anger. I think she’s learned her lesson, time to get over it and let her do what she does best.

I saw her in Ragtime, singing this song at age 9 or maybe even just 8 at the pre-Broadway run in Toronto. While visiting some friends there, we got tickets to see what we knew was going to be a big hit in NY and of course it was. It was years later when she was in Glee and her previous work became known that I realized I must have seen her as a child in that show. I have kept all my Playbills and I dug that one out and sure enough, there she was, a little kid in the cast bio’s. I also had the original cast recording all those years without realizing that she was on it too.

we all should give pause and think, how would i react as a young performer who became super famous, rich etc at such a young age and overnight. not all handle it well performers, athletes etc. that doesnt necessarily equate to how you will be once things settled down. if all of us were judged throughout life for mistakes we made in our 20s we would all be fucked.

Are there diva stories beyond her time on Glee? Because I think there is an explanation for that. She was a big Broadway star from Spring Awakening. The toast of Broadway, as they say. And then she was in Glee with a cast of unknowns. She was the only one who was already a big star. Did she feel she was better than the rest of the cast? Maybe. But, in a way, she was in a different league. So, while I am not excusing her diva behavior, I think there might be a reason.

Along with others in Wicked, and Magic Flute with its aria showcased in Fifth Element . Lea is the one that stood out. I have no doubt the Jersey Girl (who went along to an audition with a 8 yr old friend when the friends dad got sick & leas nurse mom drove her ) killed it!

I must imagine that that show, which lasted so many years with a group of young people must have been so difficult.....that some have left the industry, 2 have died, some have tried to audition for the talent shows that are everywhere...but only Ms. Michelle (and Amber Riley) have continued, after dealing with an unspeakable loss, gossip, etc. I give her kudos for even going on after that and if Ryan Murphy, also known as a touch producer, creator, didn't discipline her, didn't find her to be a hard ass.....then why do the other much less successful young people condemn her? It was average. She had Zero emotion behind the song. Gliding is a sweet beautiful little song and this had neither of those qualities. Bottom line is that while she can carry a tune, she can't act work a damn.

With her reputation proceeding her, it really impacts on a song which is supposed to be so heart felt, so intimate, so loving. I just see a very disingenuous performance and it's very sad that with her talent, I feel absolutely nothing.

Lol of course she did Ragtime, lest we forget she's been a nasty Broadway actor since she was a child. An average performance, she can do better than this. Shocked she didn't do Your daddy's son, it's just the right song for the size of her ego.
