It is comforting to know that it is actually Michael's voice, he was a big fan of the Simpsons, I am glad he could do this, he was too unjustified in life
Michael only voiced Leon when he spoke like Michael Jackson. It was actually an impersonator that provided the singing voice for the character. Michael thought it would be hilarious to fool his brothers into thinking it was actually him that sang in the episode.
Disney + / Star + should bring back this episode. It’s one of the all time classics from the show. And MJ was one of the biggest stars ever to be featured.
@@Limebradley it's a small gag that didn't base the episode, the Cosby one was admittedly longer but the episode where that came from was about Bleeding Gums Murphy and Bart's appendicitis subplot.
I kinda hate how the current time is trying to make it look like this episode doesnt exist. Despite the whole controversy with Michael Jackson and the things he might have done when he was alive. This episode shouldnt be forgotten. I'd say this is one of the best episodes of the Simpsons. The character of Leon is one of the greatest. The character felt like someone real who you could meet, and be a person you don't want to leave your life. If the Simpsons actually had continuity, I'd feel Barts time spent with Leon/Micheal would have changed him a little bit permanently.

Fun fact: MJ wasn't allowed to sing in this episode by his record company, it was actually Kipp Lennon, the younger brother of the The Lennon Sisters, who sung this instead.
Michael Jackson decided to have an impersonator doing the singing for this episode because he wanted to trick his brothers into thinking he really was singing in this episode.

It's honestly despicable, yes I know the modern writing staff made the decision to ban the episode still it just feels wrong. Like rewriting history.
honestly, the singing kinda sounds like Michael's voice, if his real singing voice didn't sound the way it did, if that makes sense. Kipp's singing voice and Michaels speaking voice sound kinda similar is what I'm getting at
This episode is no longer available on home video releases. We all know why. If you know about the subplot of Homer being committed, you’ll also appreciate the bitter irony that an episode about conformity would itself be censored because of conformity. This culture is doomed.
I LOVE the Simpsons and I'm not excusing ANYTHING dealing with child crimes. But with that said, if America is going back through history and "erasing" celebrities that have skeletons in their closet... Well Hollywood, movies and TV are going bye bye. Whatever happened to watch what you like or don't watch it, if you don't? I don't need things removed for me, if I don't like someone's past.
I agree. Plus the poor man was never convicted of anything. He needed someone in his life to tell him to not befriend kids and their families because it was making him vulnerable, but famous people often don't have anyone looking out for them. Also, look at Mike Tyson. He was convicted of a serious crime, did time for it, and then was allowed to reenter and participate in society. He has a family now and he's not stigmatized. His crime was pretty serious and the media scrutiny affected the young woman's life dramatically. But society forgave him. If he was allowed to move on, why couldn't people extend the same grace to someone who was acquitted? We can't throw away everyone for making mistakes. Some people don't change, but many do.

So it seems anybody who is accused of a crime is guilty, even when proven innocent in a court of law! So the executive producer James L. Brooks thinks if you make a film claiming someone is guilty it must be true? I prefer to believe the evidence and the courts verdict that he was totally innocent of any crime, than a one sided film from two known liars who are only after money. 😢
It's so ironic, because there was even a Simpson's episode in which Homer was wrongly accused of sexual harassment of the nanny ( when she had the candy stuck to her butt) and this turned into a full-scale witch hunt after the media warped his side of the story. In MJ's case, please read the actual court documents they just show how stupid the allegations were. The FBI looked into him and flew around the world interviewing children nd their parents and not a single shred of evidence condemning him was found. Yet, the media unjustly portrayed him as guilty and the world is just going with it.
