Ha, haven't heard that one before, he is Australian and i'm English! He is a legend though, for those that don't know he is a great karate exponent who fought Sammo Hung and many other HK stars in the 80s. My favourite role of his, is Macdonald in City Hunter. Great bit of comedy and action!
@@jakeonfilm he is a great martial artist and starred alongside Cynthia Rothrock who is another great martial artist! I like Richard Norton in City Hunter and Mr. Nice Guy when he played Gene Karlow.
@@perryfan49 He is indeed. Cynthia Rothrock is under appreciated, the power she could generate for someone of diminutive height was incredible. Perhaps we will showcase her in a future video!
I only really like one moment from this film and that's when we see Jackie with the spear.....the rest - meh. I wasn't as keen on Jackie when started trying to appeal to Western audiences, for me, his last great movies were in 92/93 with City Hunter & Crime Story. Police Story 3 is good but not great IMO. Given the path his career has taken (especially in recent years) I, perhaps selfishly, would've been happy if had retired from action flicks after Crime Story tbh.

There’s no doubt that Jackie’s film output declined after Crime Story, but if you look at his solo efforts without Sammo and Biao they are often more focused on a international market, even the first Armour of God with its foreign locations and actors. He always wanted to conquer that market but age caught up with him in the end. Ironically of course his pure HK efforts are his best, Drunken Master and Police Story for example. Speaking of Police Story, stick around for a full review of the series. Don’t tell anyone though 😉

Great film in its own right but I do think the Armour of God was the better film. 88 Films really did a great transfer for this though.
