The story behind the waterfall goes like this : As per the Indian mythology, the snake god got into a battle with King Bhagsu. The reason of the battle was that King Bhagsu had stolen water from the sacred lake called the NagDal Lake. King Bhagsu was defeated and eventually forgiven, and the site was consecrated as Bhagsu Nag. King bhagsu had stolen the water as his kingdom was left with no water and people were going to die. Later God Nag gave him this waterfall as gift and told him you will never have a problem of water in your kingdom.

Being a local to this area ...just a simple advice don't take a bath under a waterfall ...many time stones or heavy objects coming with water from up can cause fatal injuries to you...we have so many such cases in the past...
