I spend majority of my time in the Philippines in the Dulag area of Leyte and have travelled all around there because that’s where my wife is from. Just recently went to Panglao for the first time and it was super cool.
I have taken the cargo ferry from surigao city to padre burgos a few times back and forth....they only allow passengers (2) with motor or car... No regular passengers without car or motor...
Chris, I was talking to one of my friends whose a dealer about the NX500. He also made the comment to me about the Honda gets light in the front end when loaded. Beautiful ride.
I just got the bike back after taking it in for a service interval. I talked to them about the preload-I thought I had adjusted it all the way, but they said they were able to move it about five more clicks. I’m really hoping this solves the issue because it was pretty unsettling.
I have watched every one of your riding videos, and that was the most beautiful. Have you ever ridden the San Juan parkway in Colorado or monument valley? .
Chris, are "campervans" a thing in the Philippines at all? I thought I saw one when you got off the ferry. Something like a 10 year-old van outfitted with a bed, toilet and kitchen setup. Hotels are so cheap it seems maybe it would be better to just have a small car. I'm thinking of an alternative it I'm too chicken to get a motorcycle.
You had been to my city of Golden Friendship, CDO! Next time, you may go up to Bukidnon and go through the pineapple plantations. The Bukidnon-Davao (BUDA) route is very scenic and spectacular. Going back to CDO, this city has great universities like Cebu City. I remember early on you mentioned your daughter. CDO could be one good place to pick for education like nursing, medicine, engineering, etc. Also, from Surigao ( sooo- ree-gao) ferries are available for Siargao, the island famous for surfing. If you drive via the coastal road toward Gingoog (Heee-ngo- Ugg) city from CDO, a port called Balingoan allows you to go to the 2nd smallest province of the country, Camiguin (Come- mee- Guin, not Gwen, but Guinn-ess book of records), the island born of fire) and my birth place. Proud Mindanaoan here. Thanks for the visit! 😊
I think it’s goona be confusing for people if you keep calling Surigao City “sheer-gao” because there’s a popular island named Siargao near it and that sounds more like “sheer-gao” than Surigao.
Brother out there living the coconut life 🏝✌🏻😎
You got that right!:)

I don't see many of them but yes I think that would be perfect.

Nice ride Chris! Do you see many other foreigners riding around Leyte?
Yeah, there’s some around. Not as many as here in Cebu City but they’re around.
your adventures are awesome❤❤
Thank you. Really appreciate it.
No big spider ?
lol nope:)
What ferry company did u take? Price with motor? How many hours was ferry ride?
It was just about a couple thousand pesos and honestly I don’t recall the ferry name. I’m sorry.

I don’t think people will get confused, but they might get annoyed-especially if that’s their thing. It’s just not mine. :)
