I have just started restoring my old NC5. I inspected the fuel tank and noticed it is corroded a internally allowing the petrol and oil to mix in the tank. So premixing the oil and petrol is a good idea. Fun little bikes!
Good little bike sir, I had a 81 nc50 and that one was very reliable and it’s in a good home since then and now I have a 79 express2 that I just got done with a new rebuild and making finishing touches hope you another video coming and thanks for sharing ride safe.
@@WideOpenThrottleGarage Also, the gas tank is 2 compartments. It's not uncommon for the metal wall to rust through between gas and oil tanks. Your oil may be leaking into the gas side.

@@WideOpenThrottleGarage I’m glad you’re doing that after all someone gotta do it, I thought about seeking my express2 but something keeps telling not to. I feel it’s not enough bike for me and I like to go fast. I know what they’re worth but still not sure about selling it.
@@miguelpagansr6128 they are fun to ride around on. My mother in laws going to buy one for herself to ride around after I get it sorted and restored fully

Haaa the old pinsol trick is awesome. I use it all the time
Go back to the old float needle. That aftermarket float needle isn't shutting off the gas when float bowl fills.
Good idea 💡
@@WideOpenThrottleGarage I just watched your first express video. First start was priceless!
