The song 'Can This Be Love' was a popular hit song by Filipino singing group named 'SMOKEY MOUNTAIN' created by musical director, composer, conductor Ryan Cayabyab which composed of the original members: James Coronel, Geneva Cruz, Jeffrey Hidalgo, and Tony Lambino
I am a Millennial born in 1984, I am in bliss to actually realised I am so lucky to have been living in the Golden Era of OPM, where talents are based on their natural gifts or voice, not influence by popularity or gimik, but true TALENTS, and they are one of those
The best of opm happened under imelda marcos ('70s/'80s), known either as opm or manila sound, wherein there was strong govt support for the arts, including music/performing arts. Similar to how k-pop became a global phenomenon after sokor govt supported it in the '90s thru their ministry of CULTURE (same concept as imelda's)
Ryan cayabyab (founder of smokey mountain), lea salonga, freddie aguilar, and yes even wonder kid nino muhlach were products of imelda's own version of the 'CULTURAL revolution'

Yes but not as astounding as before. Without govt support, k-pop wouldn't be where it is now. Without imelda's support, we wouldn't have had those world-class artists from the '70s/'80s

For me, I stand with my words. Just appreciating all the talents during my time. And do not correct me with my point of view. Because I am not doing any harm with other artist. Spread their songs just like what the uploader did and the people will judge them.

@@michaelgamas2399not totally, the training system lang kinopya nila kasi effective but the composition of the group itself is very different boy group ang menudo while SM is coed, and the packaging SM wore rags. Music, given na yan both of them have American pop influence. Dahil sa US naman talaga nag-originate ang pop music. Kaya all in all this is the real PPop, the OPM pop.
Yun yung time na mga koreano pa nakikinig ng music natin.
