      Also, Rock didn't make an alopecia joke. He made a dad joke about a woman's haircut BEFORE finding out she had alopecia. It is totally misleading for the writers of this list to make it seem like he did it on purpose.

      Also, she had traction alopecia, not genetic alopecia. Traction alopecia is something that some women develop because they wear tight weaves for too long (too tight and too long,) meaning that she did not have any of the other signs of genetic alopeca, such as losing your eyebrows and eye lashes. In other words, she just looked like someone who chose to shave her head, which by the way, SHE ADMITTED TO, because she said she had lost patches of hair, not having gone completely bald.
      You are being ignorant if you choose to jump on an ill-informed online bandwagon if you don't accept what Chris Rock, Will Smith and all of their friends and family have said about this incident.
      Notice that you only have a single self-thumbs-up, indicating that everyone else accepts what the people involved in the incident have stated. You are choosing to see this the wrong way. You are wrong.

But I'm sick of her and anyone else who acts like she is such a victim of something so bad. Ask anyone who actually has a life threatening disease. Or actually has a handicap that is painful, or that has taken their limbs. If they would would take Alopecia over what they have. And I bet they would in a heartbeat. Maybe if Jada was actually a nice caring woman. God wouldn't of made her hair even want to get away from her rude self.

    • @survivalwriter2635

      The term "handicap" isn't used by those of us in the disability community and is considered a prejudicial term. Those of us involved in disability advocacy don't believe in gatekeeping disability or making it a competition and we don't buy that it's a punishment from God or fate, as you're doing here. Third, in a society where women's hair and esp Black women's hair are heavily policed and with it comes actual implications for job and economic access or schooling issues, any health condition that adversely impacts those things can be considered a disability. Not to mention, alopecia disproportionately impacts Black women, so seeing a lot of white people chime in dismissively on it has racialized (and racist) overtones to it too. Finally, alopecia doesn't just mean loss of hair on the head--it can all over the body, including in the ears, etc--meaning alopecia can contribute to (sometimes significant) hearing loss. Loss of body hair also can impact immunity.

      First off. I'm a handicapped person. I'm dyslexic and have scoliosis, and had spinal fusion and walk with a cane. Is that enough qualification to be deemed disabled by you? People in the handicapped community in the town I live use the word handicapped or disabled. Because that's what we are. It's just a way of letting others know. That we may need to have them make Revisions for us. Like I can walk up 3 to 5 steps. But if you have a 13 step stair case and don't have a elevator. I may need someone else go for me. We use handicapped, other towns may not. But making comments like every disabled community hates it is wrong. And can be detrimental to other people. If someone has been using handicapped to die find themselves since forever. To hear they shouldn't use handicapped to Describe themselves is wrong for them, we should be able to use whatever word we want to Describe ourselves. If it means making our lives less of a hassle you as a able bodied person shouldn't tell us what we should or shouldn't say. And a lot of different things in life give many people compromised immunities. Because my spine is mostly titanium that makes me have a compromised immunity. And it doesn't make me any more or less special then anyone else. I wear a mask everywhere I go. Or if I'm around a group of people. Just quit trying to make Alopecia some horrible disorder. Does it suck losing your hair YES. I'm sure it does. But Mrs Smith is such a losy person even her hair doesn't want to be near her. Does the fact I left god out of it make you happier?

    • @survivalwriter2635
      @survivalwriter2635 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maryallison0509 - I am not able-bodied. I am a disabled person who works in disability justice advocacy--and we don't believe in gatekeeping or judging each other's conditions or disabilities or making it a competition, as you are doing here (and we don't believe we have a right as disabled people to judge other disabilities). "Handicap" is a word we try not to use because of its troubling history, so other than using in technical legal terms, we don't apply it to people. Do you know people with Alopecia who also have significant hearing loss as a result of that condition? I do. Is deafness a legitimate enough of a condition for you? Do you understand what the social model of disability is (which is what most disability orgs subscribe to)? Because if you do you would understand why alopecia can be a disability for many who have it. Do you understand--as a matter of law--ANY health condition where one can ask for accommodations is acknowledged as a form of disability? I don't know what all this hate for Jada is about, but when I see a bunch of white women piling on it's hard for me to not suspect racism and misogynoir.

      How was I making it a comparison or trying to compete my disabilities with other peoples. All I was saying was, is that if the business I had mentioned had a elevator or less steps I could of made the trek up to the convention I was trying to attend. So because of my inability to be able to climb the 13 steps my friend ran up and grab the materials I needed ( or wanted). And as far as my feelings toward Jada. Race or whatever word you used means. I will admit I don't like Mrs Smith because of her attitude about several things. Her fake behavior with Leah Remmini, on her red table talks. Refusing to acknowledge the fact she was involved in the Church of Scientology. Even if she hadn't been involved in the last year. She denied it. Even though there is physical video evidence she and Will were indeed members. Why lie about it. Why gaslight Leah by saying she wasn't ever. Her attitude or how she is looking down at other people. The fact she cheated on her husband. But gaslighted him acting like her behavior was all in his imagination. The fact she not only cheated but actually slept the man and encouraged him as a young man her sons age to be romantically stuck on her. He was obsessed with her. And she basically told him he wasn't and that she wasn't available as his girlfriend. So sure I admit. I really think Jada is a snake. She is a horrible person and likes to paint herself as just the smartest most wonderful human. When instead of admitting she has some serious mental issues. She is a phycopath. So yep I hate her. The color of her skin, her money, her anything. It's all her attitude that I hate. Will is a talented man he deserves way better then Jada.

    "Incredibly insensitive joke" Jesus Christ it`s just baldness for crying out loud you guys make seem like she in the last stage of colon cancer.

      ^this. People mistake alopecia for being a fatal illness like cancer but it's akin to male pattern baldness. Sure, women are more connected to their hair than men but Chris was just making a connection to a badass bald female character. I don't believe it was intentionally malicious or "insensitive."

    Why did it take that man so long to say something about Kevin Spacey? That's why I find it hard to believe what this guy is saying. If he had said it within 2 year's, fine. But why wait 20 or 30 year's to say something. It's the same thing about Harvey Weinstein. Why wait 30 or 20 year's to say something. 🤔

      It’s not up to us to judge why someone took their time to come forward. It might be difficult to understand if you’ve never experienced such things, so just know that they have their reasons.

      The Anthony Rapp case is pretty funny right now because Kevin Spacey was found INNOCENT of seducing Rapp in his most recent trial. In fact, Kevin Spacey has now had 6 trials against him and has been found innocent in every case without a single juror voting guilty. Why is Spacey still getting attacked after he has been found innocent SIX times now?

      Not that uncommon to speak up years later in SA situations. Do some reading on psychology, truama, and the psychological effects of sexual trauma. Very small number of victims of sexual assuault EVER report. And virtually all who do report are females victimized by males.
