Corporations don't pay taxes. Let Walter Williams explain:
“Faced with a tax, a corporation can shift the tax burden by raising its product prices, lowering dividends or laying off workers. The lesson here is that only people pay taxes, not legal fictions like corporations. Corporations are simply tax collectors for the government. Similarly, no one would fall for a politician telling a homeowner, "I'm not going to tax you; I'm going to tax your property." I guarantee that it will be a person, not the property, writing out the check to the taxing authority. Again, only people pay taxes.” - Walter E. Williams, economist

A simple analogy: if two gas stations within a 1/8 mile of one another had a.75 cent difference in price per gallon, the gas station thats price gouging would be out of business within a month.
If corporations purposely overpriced their goods much beyond their intended value, competitors would simply offer these commodities for fair market value, undercutting the price gouging companies and pushing them out of business or forcing them to lower retail prices.
The issue is that government spending causes hyperinflation; as of August 2024, the US federal debt exceeds the US GDP. If you enjoy hyperinflation, which results in exorbitant costs for everything, while your work wages don't increase , Vote for Kamala.

First the checks and loans to businesses in Trump administration and continued under Biden which kept jobs and stimulated growth. If you have not ran a business, you probably are not the best person to ask what a good leader is! If you own a home or have, you may understand that you don't have to know everything about how to install crown moldings or a window, for instance, to get that job done. A leader understands this. Do the research to gain a good understanding of the subject, but most important, utilize your resources.

Let's just take the cheapest eggs you can find on the market for example. Before the Democratic convention, egg prices were an average of $2.88 per dozen. This week, right after the convention and when Kamala Harris' polls gained ground against Donald Trump, eggs went up an average of $3.48 per dozen. That's right. In one week eggs went from $2.88 p/dz to $3.48 for no reason at all except, of course political. These billion dollar corporations favor Donald Trump because they are being promised another huge tax break and no taxes for incomes of over $10 million dollars according to Project 2025. These food industries are purposely price gauging to have people think it's Biden/Harris bad economy. The inflation is at a low 2.8%, which is within a reasonable level. These same companies have been making more profits than ever before in history. THERE IS NO EXCUSE OTHER THAN A POLITICAL ONE! And they are getting government grants to try to keep prices low. I WANT AN INVESTIGATION OF PRICE GAUGING AND MY TAX MONEY BACK! Those industries are in breach of their part of the deal!

CNBC totally misrepresents this issue. Corporate monopolies have been price gouging since the pandemic. Both Obama and Trump tried to deal with it but weren't successful. Biden did a much better job and now Harris wants to continue it. Vote Blue and maybe we may actually get lower prices. These corporations have artificially inflated their prices and doubled profits since the pandemic.

It sounds like price controls but it isn't? Kind of like it sounds like a duck, walks like a duck, but is totally a cat? Even if it is not "price controls" its a crack down on something that does not exist and will greatly increase the price for everything with the increase in regulations. But, if those prices increase, they will say, "no people cant afford that and you can't set the price that high." So in a round about way, its price controls.

Regrettably, he fails to acknowledge that the best way by far to manage rampant inflation is to promote free market, driven by healthy and fair competition among businesses and full information for the consumers; i.e., by more deregulation NOT by more regulation and bigger government.
