To be exact, Iankaikkinen is composed of two words: 'ikä' (age) and 'kaikki' (all, everything). So it's eternal and everything. Funny word though. Wonder if it has some kind of meaning in time before christianity. The "Isä meidän" (Lord's prayer) prayer ends with "iankaikkisesti. Amen." --> "now and for ever. Amen", so it can be everlasting or eternal. And I guess it's not really a "farmer", but the owner of the land. A lord or a master. The head of the house.
I don't understand a single word either, but this wouldn't be the same if it was in a different language. Finnish just goes so well with metal and rock music :D
Every fucking time I've tried looking for this band, especially song... it takes waaaayyyyy too fucking long. Google cant put 2 and 2 together when I say "metal band that starts with K (yes I know I'll catch shit for this) sounds kind of rammstein." My cousin showed me this song like... 15ish years ago? and because I'm american and stupid, all I could remember was the band began with K, and the song I wanted started with an I (or an e... I tried both ian and ein. About all I could remember aside from that, was that I knew they werent german. Scouring through metal band names searching desperately for it. Fucking saving this song to a playlist now
(some artistic licence taken) The night takes a day And it still won't end Handles of the clock move but time Stands still Then sorrow walks in though no one invited it It sits down, sits lower Deeper than you heart ... deeper All eternal Walks as the master on his fields With human soul in his pocket With human heart in his chest There's life after death I stand as proof I've died once or twice And more And I didn't write this It was written by regret and longing And one drop in a rain is One man's love or rage All eternal Walks as the master on his fields With human soul in his pocket With human heart in his chest All eternal Walks as the master on his fields With human soul in his pocket With human heart in his chest
The song name "Iankaikkinen" can be roughly translated as "The eternal" or "The everlasting" (It's kind of biblical word) I think the song is about eternal longing and sorrow. This is my rough translation of the chorus: "The eternal walks like a farmer in his fields a human's heart in his pocket a human's heart in his chest"
tää laulu on ihana

The night takes a day
And it still won't end
Handles of the clock move but time
Stands still
Then sorrow walks in
though no one invited it
It sits down, sits lower
Deeper than you heart
... deeper
All eternal
Walks as the master on his fields
With human soul in his pocket
With human heart in his chest
There's life after death
I stand as proof
I've died once or twice
And more
And I didn't write this
It was written by regret and longing
And one drop in a rain is
One man's love or rage
All eternal
Walks as the master on his fields
With human soul in his pocket
With human heart in his chest
All eternal
Walks as the master on his fields
With human soul in his pocket
With human heart in his chest

I dont understand a single word but its a great song
I didn't understand a word but it's still fuckin' GREAT!
And only a small percentage understands the symbolism of their lyrics :
Schindler's List, obviously.

Oops, I meant..
a human's SOUL in his pocket
a human's heart in his chest"

This is my rough translation of the chorus:
"The eternal
walks like a farmer in his fields

a human's heart in his chest"
It's "all eternal" or "always encompassing" and no it's not biblical.
ei, Iankaikkisen videossa ei synnytä uudelleen, vaan siinä yritetään haudata paha. Näin sanoi Hynynen kotareitten sivulla.
Lappeenranta.
hehe....
kuvattu lappeenrannassa.
