    The fact that we funded Haftar for much of the war here makes me laugh at the irony of the reporter here complaining about Haftar being a dictator.
    Seriously BBC, I like the fact that you were able to even report in Eastern Libya since there’s not many reports of life there, but seriously, get your facts and biases together.

    What's wrong with having a general be a political leader? George Washington, Grant, Eisenhower, Charles de Gaulle, etc etc. Hypocrites.

      If that is the case, why get rid of Qadaffi?

    • @brngtr9728
      @brngtr9728 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gadaffi sponsored terrorism prior to the 2000s when he suddenly decided to be friendlier to the west. I'm more questioning why the BBC guy keeps questioning the legitimacy of the new Libyan government simply because the new leader is also a general.

      @@brngtr9728 the West doesn't want Libya to have a strong leader, or even to be a united country. It's much easier to siphon off Libyan oil when they're all fighting each other.

    The reporter is a sucker! Instead of digging out the truth, he seemed to be out there to prove his point. Annoying.

    Very very biased and impartial report. Here are some facts:
    #1 Hafter forces comprise of radical tribal militias, ex-Gaddafi supporters, extremist Salafist Islamist militias who are led by Interpole war criminal Mahmoud Warfali who committes mass executions in Benghazi
    #2 Groups fought against Hafter are as following, the majority are 17 feb civilan rebels and military personnel pro to 17 Feb revolution and anti military dictatorship. Second largest group are Islamists who are not extremists and who protected election ballots in 2012 elections, third and smallest faction group is Islamists with Jihadist ideology like Ansar Sharia Salafist groups who oppose other pro hafter salafist extremists.
    #3 ISIS in Benghazi were at war with anti Hafter militias including those Islamists who fought against Hafter, in contrary Mahmoud Warfalli Hafter loyalist and leader had collaborated with them previously providing funds and safe passage to City of Sirte. Hafter loyalist also supported ISIS against Derna city so that ISIS can overrun Derna city which its rebels and civilians are highly anti Hafter.
    #4 Hafter did not fight at all against ISIS in Sirte nor in Derna, in fact his troops allowed defeated Derna ISIS to travel 700kms thru his checkpoints all the way to Sirte which later were fought against by Anti Hafter Misratian troops.
    #5 France, Emerates, Egypt and Saudi Arabia supported Hafter with Drones and Air bombings when his troops faced their opponents without air support they lost 400km within few hours.
    The entire Western region of Libya which holds 80% of Libyan population lives, are against Hafter they see him as traitor and only few small uncivilised bedouin tribes support him.
    To reiterate, anti Western Islamist Militias comprise an influential segment of Hafter militias, led by Mahmoud Werfalli and Al Mayar from Marj city and also in Tripoli there are Salafist militias too who have strong hold in mitiqa international airport but they are divided about Hafter due to the destruction of Benghazi.

    When he said that the destruction can be recovered!! Big sad laugh.. Man this country “desert” needed 70 years to be what it has to be. And now it need about another 100 year to recover 10% ... the oil prices went to almost free. Other rich oil countries change to be independent on oil.. and Lybia has noting beside oil.... only dry sand and Gaddafi ruins...
