My mom loves butterflies because it reminds her of my aunt that sadly passed away two years ago. This is a perfect craft for my mom. tysm :)

I suppose that you can make it like a bat as well, and put it in some dark book, as a present to somebody.. It would be so cool :)

I'm guessing a smaller and lighter design would spring more but probably be tougher to make. Perhaps these larger ones could be spun up a lot more and put in-between a screen and front door for good scares. Thanks for the tips.

I am so excited to try this but having a difficult time finding the wire. Please send a link or more information on the wire. I did order some from Amazon but it was not stiff enough. Also, on your template what does 16.5=3.5 mean? Thanks for your help and looking forward to sending one to my grandson.

Last night I had a dream about *butterflies,* and when I went to get my grandma up and dressed, a neon green *butterfly* was at her window. A little bit later one of her friends called to ask if we wanted to go with her to the Museum of Life and Science because they have a *butterfly* house she wanted to visit, and thought we might be interested in seeing it too....and then I read your reply to a comment I posted a year ago about a *butterfly* craft project.
This is more than a simple coincidence; I think the universe is trying to tell me something...🦋 Unfortunately I'm not sure what the message is yet, but it definitely involves *butterflies.* What a crazy day!
@@IAmSuzyQ Well that is crazy weird! I think butterflies in dreams have something to do with personal growth or nurturing oneself - or maybe lack thereof. Maybe the butterflies are telling you to take better care of yourself/ some relationship or something. I'm no expert - but I usually dream of butterflies when I neglect myself or some relationship in my life 🦋
@@NataliasToolbox I think you may have hit the nail on the head! I'm a nurse, and for the last year and a half I've been working on a covid unit. I don't think I've ever needed to take better care of myself, more than I do right now!
Maybe the universe is telling me that working on my covid unit is like me being in my cocoon, and that someday this nightmare will be over, and when that day comes I'll get to emerge as a butterfly... Maybe it's telling me that I just need to hang in there a little longer.
I sure hope that's the message.🤞😉
Thanks again for sharing your craft projects with us. I've recently discovered that 'diamond painting' craft, and I've fallen in love with it! I never knew something like that could be so therapeutic, but it is. When I'm doing it everything around me goes away, and my mind gets to take a little break from the things I've seen at work. I tried to make it literally 8 times, still not working for me... I checked every aspect, the diameter of the wire, the thickness of the wings, the flexibility and power of the rubber band.... I make my model really precisely, using your scheme but it ends up not spinning powerfully enough or the rubber band breaks

the fly mechanism have something wrong? The Bugs don't run just spin without flying... well it's just my point of view. Nice vid

I tried to make the butterfly and the mechanics work fine. When I wind the wire attached to the rubberband it spins. However when I put the wings on it won't fly. I did not follow your measurements for the wire length or the wings. Could that be the problem?
That could possibly be the problem, or the wings you've attached are too close to each other, or the circle you made with the wire isn't round enough. Try experimenting a bit with the wings and the wire to get it to spin. :)
