When does manzano mtns st. pk. open? we have reservations for april 8-10, they accepted our res. I like your City of rocks video on the campgrounds, we are camping there too.
Thanks!!! We loved City of Rocks. It was way better than we ever expected. According to the website Manzano mtn state park opens April 1.... but I really don't know for sure. I hope so because we want to go there too! We put on the video the sign at the gate with the phone numbers. You might want to call and find out any details. Be sure to report back here if you do.
@@earthcomedy No water as in rivers or creeks. Manzano State park is open right now but I think it closes at the end of the month. It is closed during winter and reopens around April 1.
Very glad I found thus video. We stayed at an Air B & B on the Thinderbird Ranch there and love the area so much. They have a couple of A frames on their Ranch & Camp sites along with a tiny home & Cabin. Ijust got my own camping stuff & want to go camping more and was looking for exactly this!! Thanks much for your videos! I think I'd rather try boondocking but the Camphround wouldn't be bad either. How far on 253 is that area from Red Canyon? ❤ Cheers!
We are totally new to boondocking. We always stay at campgrounds so this was something we had been wanting to find. If you have any other boondocking locations for us to check out, let us know! And thanks for watching!
@@jenniferlzr5651 It totally depends which agency runs the campground. As far as what I have seen, you pay either the camping fee or the Day Use fee. Some BLM campgrounds are free, some have a small fee. Forest service fees go onto the actual forest service website for prices (Carson NF, Santa Fe NP, etc). This past year some of the campgrounds prices increased too so some websites don't have the increase yet. Sorry it seems so confusing.

I do a lot of camping in the Manzano Mountains. I camp on the south end. This area is nice and not far from Red Canyon Campground.

I've looked all over but can't find an answer. While camping in New Mexico, do you pay a day use fee PLUS the camping fee?
Are you talking about the state parks?

“Camping” $7
In Texas you pay both.
