I picked up the HP Notebook 15s with a more powerful Ryzen 5 from my local HP World showroom just for $590 with some additional accessories free. I'm really satisfied :)
I use to go inside the acer one all the time. They are great upgrade machines and machines that are easy to fix. So I agree. This alone puts it ahead of it competition.
I got a Asus out for delivery now, Can’t wait to play around with it…my fingers are crossed 🤞 it has a backlit screen as some models don’t…I do miss my HP was a great laptop 💻
I have an 11th Gen, Aspire 5, i-5. Got it for less than $500. I have maxed out the RAM (20 GB), installed a 1 TB SATA drive and upgraded to a better NVME drive. (SK Hynix) I like the screen, the keyboard and the selection of ports. Great review. Nicely done!
Another great review. I agree with your ordering of the 3, and especially ranking the ACER Aspire 5 at the top for these three configurations. The HP not being RAM upgradable and limited brightness are major limitations would be only comment.

I tend to keep mine for a long time (5 years +). Unless you damage the hinge, screen, or keyboard you shouldnt upgrade just for the sake of upgrading. Of course if the performance is lacking or if battery cannot be replaced, then I upgrade

Acer Swift 3 is thinner and lighter and has 12 hr battery life. But its little more expensive than Aspire 5 amzn.to/3k0QMSZ So if you value long battery life and light weight go with Swift 3

Does different ram speeds affect the laptop in anyway when you upgrade. So like 2666mhz vs 3200mhz.
It's better to match the speed. But if you put a 3200mhz RAM in a laptop configured for 2666mhz, bios will automatically down clock it
