Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) realize they don't know anything about Lily's (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) Vietnamese culture, so they take her to a Vietnamese restaurant, but things don't go as planned. Take a look!

to be fair pho is quite an agreeable dish. Simple, intriguing, and a non-threatening appearance or offensive flavour
they have to get that much for that scene to work 😂 but im sure it's not just anything that makes our food so popular, specially bánh mì
IN real life lily is korean.
I just love this show so much. They can pack more comedy into three minutes than other shows can in whole episodes. There's a subtle joke hidden in almost every other line and yet the dialogs are so seamless and appear natural.

I absolutely love how diversity is represented in this show without making it into some personality trait. Modern Family highlights struggles that different people have without making it weird or political. I hope we have another show like this.

@@Thatonehanna Uh, you sounded a bit harsh. I don't think the Vietnamese would mind that much.
Even in the Vietnamese language, there are a bunch of loan words which were Vietnamese-ized like bít-tết (beefsteak), phô mai (fomage) so the Vietnamese would know how pronounce them.
My friends never understand when I say it correctly so I have to tell them "Ph-Oh" litteraly EVERY TIME, just so they would understand. 💀
