Some amazing advice in this video! Would you be able to do a follow up on the portfolio section? I keen to hear more about how to build out an ML portfolio specifically, and how to find other teams or groups of MLEs that are working on a product that someone could team up with to get experience and be left with something strong to show hiring managers at companies looking for MLEs!
Victor’s story is SO inspiring! I just graduated and hearing about how he transitioned from Amazon to TikTok gives me hope in this tough market. His portfolio tips are 🔥🔥🔥!
This video couldn’t have come at a better time! I’ve been updating my portfolio and felt so lost. Victor’s advice gave me exactly what I needed to refocus my efforts
I’m in the middle of job searching, and this market is brutal. Glad Victor is sharing tips, but man, even with a killer portfolio, it feels impossible to get a foot in the door.
My uncle went to codesmith a long time ago in LA. He's an engineering manager now but tells me I should be prepared for a rought ride if I wanna get into this market.
Computer science industry is a total disaster right now. AI/ML is the way to go but its going to be ultra competitive. Victor getting such a job which probably had INSANE competition is impressive
Codesmith might be a great option to fill in that coding gap for you, we have a FREE platform called CSX that teaches you coding fundamentals here: csx.codesmith.io/ best of luck!
Cool story, but let’s be honest, getting into companies like Amazon or TikTok isn’t just about the portfolio. It’s who you know and luck. Hard work only gets you so far in this industry.
Good watch, but I’m skeptical about the path laid out would work for the normal CS grad to be honest! Breaking into an elite ML team at TikTok would require other qualities and personal merits this video doesn't fully tell. If you're a regular fresh graduate you probably aren't going to follow this persons incredible path and thats okay, these tips are still applicable.
Hey Codesmith , very good video ! I was wondering if I can help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and make Highly Engaging Thumbnails which will help your videos to get more views and engagement . Please let me know what do you think ?

Hi Dave, thanks for this feedback. We also think this would be a fantastic follow up and hope to have an ML Portfolio advice video out soon!

Victor is a badass! Nice job bro
Working in smaller settings is where the real innovation happens.
Been job hunting for 5 months as a CS graduate. This was a nice video, reminds me to keep learning.

The tips about what to put into your ML portfolio are pretty useful. The problem is getting someone to review it for you 😅
Super insightful, thanks!
In this market, building a company is faster than landing and cracking interviews. I'm working on some projects
I’m surprised that only a team of 20 is working on that feature.
I love how he broke down the day-to-day at Tik tok
’m struggling to get my portfolio together-his advice is super helpful. Gonna revamp everything after this video

Can we get a follow up with more detail about ML portfolios?
Thanks for asking, we'd love to cover this in the future.
Awesome 😍
unsure on whether I should go get a masters or do what Victor did
So you're saying this dude went to a coding bootcamp, got a CS degree and self studied daily for 6 months? Props.
Wondering if it's worth the risk to switch now.
does codesmith have any AI/ML classes?
When will the next video come
Really good video
your mind is amazing 🔥
Well done

Even the things you don’t like about yourself make you interesting
