My dear wife is a high school teacher. A few of her students thought she was to strict with assignments.... Turning them in on time............ She loves it when her students see her years later and still remember her. Some chase her down in the stores to give her a hug.........
Strict -- not as rude, aggressive, or abusive -- but strict as in keeping their student 'in line' & accountable. I had countable 'strict' teachers whom i hated (in a child's capacity) for being an inconvenience on my childhood antics -- fun stuff -- but they kept me accountable to my learning and education, thus overall growth. now as i am a grown up, i truly appreciate them with my heart for their minor 'strictness'. today i understand its value in my life. so, thanks to all teachers for keeping their student accountable. they might brush it of as inconvenience, yet when they grow up they'll get it. and thanks to your wife for her service to the world.
I can relate. I had a very strict 8th grade English teacher who was on us all the time and asked us every day about our projects and it wasn't until after I graduated that I started seeing signs of her mindset in my bosses and it really showed when I enlisted in the military and it was an exact mirror image of her with wanting projects (or in the military's case, reports) turned in by a certain time. I found her on FB in 2014 by pure chance and thanked her for hounding me like she did. Stunned, she said she not only remembered me, but said she thought her method of teaching made her a bad teacher to most kids. And I admitted it did WHEN IT HAPPENED. But I told her that my first bosses and later Supervisors, Superiors and Commanders in the military acted JUST like that and she WAY more accurately got people ready for the real work environment than she realized. I summarized it to her and said "she gave me a fighting chance in the real world (by essentially touching on how it would be) and I wanted to simply say Thank You." 😊

On top of that I was bullied by kids because Mom was "different". She gave me latitude and did not pressure but did encourage. I was a teacher for 40 years and keep in touch with many of my former students. There's one who's especially dear to my heart. She became a teacher and what's great is we share a birthday. One day I'd love to travel to CA to see her and visit the San Diego Zoo!
I love this so much. My 5th Grade math teacher was an influential person in my life... We even share a birthday. Through her I learnt for the first time, what determination and self-worth felt like. She left the country for a while, and I never thought I was ever going to see her again. When she was away, every year, on our birthday, I would always write to her. There was never a year I missed. But after a while, she stopped writing back. In 9th grade she came back to teach us. I wish the story was as beautiful as this one. But she was never the same. Perhaps it was the time spent away, or the fact that I saw her through the eyes of a 15 year old, but the connection I once had with her wasn't there anymore.. It still breaks my heart till today. I loved her like family. I wish I was able to do something like this for her. She changed my whole world. I left that school the same year, and started homeschooling and I haven't spoken to her since. She's married and she now has a baby boy. I wish I was there to tell her how much she meant to me.
It may not ever be the same, but simply telling her, in a letter or anyway you can, how much she meant to you at one stage of your life, is something worth doing. If nothing else, taking the trouble to say “thank you” is important, even if it doesn’t turn into a beautiful story. Your statement about seeing through the eyes of a 15 year old is wise. It shows that you realize that you had changed as well. Best wishes.

My class advisor back in 2nd year high school treated me like her own son. She shared her lunch with me and even the very first person to congratulate me during my high school graduation. After 12 years I've visited her at school and she's still the same talkative woman that I first met. I handed her cash and she just looked at me with teary eyes because she was so proud of me for my achievements in life and on that day she was supposed to borrow money from someone for her medications. Gotta love teachers.

The influence of a kind, thoughtful teacher .... and the impact of a creative, thoughtful "thank you". We can't all do the first, but we can all do the second. No - we all influence others for good or for bad - so we can all do both! Starting right now?
What a wonderful gesture for your teacher! You could tell by the look on her face that she felt the love from her heart for your kindness. Bless you for remembering your teacher in a way that will always remind her she did good at her job.
God bless this brought me tears. I too had a amazing teacher in 3rd grade when my family had problems. She gave me hope . I hope to find her .Mrs Lea st Margaret Mary. 1983.
I absolutely Love it, watching this was a good experience for me. Some people just didn't grow up in a Loving Environment, so they turn out hard and unhappy, no matter what.
Matthew Molina in my opinion. heartless people that don't realize with all the bad things on the news these days, we need the good stories too, a reminder there are still good people out there. And a reminder that even if you do something small, it can mean the world to someone and make a big impact. With that said, everyone's aloud their opinion. I don't get the disliking either, but that's their opinion.
Edward White wait, so how good a teacher is or was when you went to school depends on who they vote for? Interesting I always thought how good a teacher was depended on how she or he treated their students, what they did for them, how much they cared about them. People's logic this day is unbelievable.
This is one of the good stories to pay it forward. If I could have had a teacher like that male or female I might have completed High School and gone a lot further with my education. I did not tell here I am. Congratulations to both of you
This reminds me of my 3rd grade assistant teacher. The teacher I had was prejudice. But the assistant was the opposite she is what made me love all people and treat everyone the same. Mrs. Haskins I Love You!!!
Great Story, i still keep in touch with my 6th class teacher, Mr kelly from Gladesville Public School , Sydney Australia, 1970 , 51 years ago, he was the best teacher, a kid could possibly ask for, and have alway's had great respect for this man, Vaughn Kelley .
When you are the student, you truly never understand until later the impact a teacher can have on you. Sometimes we realize these things too late. So happy, this student was able to find and thank her teacher. But I'm not crying!!!!!!
My Mom was a high school teacher. She maintained a lifelong friendship with a number of her students. One student in particular, who graduated high school in 1961, was taken in by my Mom and lived with us for a few months after her mother died and she was getting herself together. Mom passed away a few years ago. This student, now a woman in her 70's, still maintains contact with me.
It's an important relation for many, that between a student and a teacher. Next week my mother, who is 85, will congratulate her teacher on his 100th birthday. She had him as a teacher between the ages 11-13. He's still in pretty good shape and they have had contact most of her life.
Alisha Zuberi: Thanks for asking. I just think it would make a sweet, Hallmark type of movie. To keep in contact with someone for over seven decades is rather amazing - that a teacher and student have kept in touch is extra amazing. Of course, in the movie they'd probably have the two get married eventually. BTW, I like the name Alisha :-)
Something id love to do for my teacher one day! Thank goodness she hasn't moved countries but she was definitely there during one the hardest moments in my life!
Vincent Cuttolo that is so true! What an amazing thought! Will have to do a lil gift basket and put it together, she's very artistic so will try to think of something! Thank you 💙
My 4th grade teacher was a sister to me and it’s hard that I won’t get to see her anymore. I always look back at my yearbook and cry because I miss her so much. She was always there for me and now that I’m going to middle school, I won’t have her on my side anymore. 😭😭😭
Marvellous feedback after all those years. I recall a student of mine in China brighterning up after some positive feedback from me; Her words: 'Rob you really like us don't you!'
Made me cry as it reminded me of my Grandmother who taught for 55 years and even though she retired from the schoolhouse if one of her former students called and asked her to help their son she always said yes. Grandmother taught her final tutoring class from her sick bed when she was 88 years old. Many students of hers have told me that she was an inspiration. A legacy for 3 of her granddaughters (including me) to live up to as we are also teachers. I've been one for the past 10 years (after having other careers) and there are still former students who call out to me when they see me in Walmart. In fact, just 2 weekends ago I met one of them who told me in his 12 years of schooling only 3 teachers were inspirational to him. "Mr Bush, Mr. Williams and you Ms. T. I'm so thankful you were there for me."
Lili74... I do realize it. But what means more to me is just not the words of thank you but the actions too. Its nice when I hear "Mama T" from former students. Or when they stop me and tell me that I am an inspiration to them. But then I'm used to the non-verbal thanks from other careers- law enforcement officer and military veteran. As Grandmother would say "the greatest thanks is when the light bulb turns on and they make something out of themselves."
Mohd Firuz Bin Ali I am extremely proud of Grandma my head and I wish to God that she was still here today but I think there's you can still teach me a lot that I need to know especially when it comes to math and science I worst two subjects in school
I had the same experience in 3rd grade. My amazing teacher Mr. Damiani. Antonio Damiani? Not sure if I am spelling it right. This was back in 1968 or 1969? Thomas Kelly elementry school in Carmichael, California. He was inspirational. He won teacher of the year. He with our class, made string puppets and a full blown stage and went around the community doing puppet shows. He played guitar an sang songs to us. Read us "The Hobbit". I so loved him, the whole class did. Wish I could find him. I am 56 years old now. I wish I could tell him how much he meant to me. Wonderful teacher. Teaching is a beautiful thing.
Peggy Mitchell: Have you tried contacting Thomas Kelly Elementary School or the San Juan Unified School District? They MIGHT know of Mr. Antonio Damiani whereabouts? Good luck. I hope you find him. It would mean a lot to him to hear from you.

It's always nice to give back to those who help! Additionally, it's always nice to hear a positive story!
Priceless..Thank you for sharing..
That is truly lovely and very thoughtful. Clearly the woman was superstar teacher.
To all teachers out there! Your work is the most important! All teachers deserve to be paid better.
My son surprised me by writing a thank you letter to his high school teacher from 20 years before. She was so happy and surprised that he would do something like that. She said it made her day.
This is Awesome. This is Something they will remember for a long long time. God-Bless our teacher's.
This is so wonderful , humanity in it’s finest form , Thankyou for sharing such an overwhelming event in your life , this has touched the hearts of many lives & I’m just so grateful to be one of them , you are a beautiful person inside & out , May God Bless
Teachers deserve so much. Thank you teachers all around the world
We all remember the one teacher who truly made a difference in our life.
Man this one made me tear up, and smile.
this made me cry so badly. my 4th,5th,6th grade teacher who motivated me and made school so much fun, was originally from the US, she came to my country to teach us, she left with a broken heart, and now she lives halfway across the world from me. i will one day go and knock on her door and hug her so tightly. i love this. 💜💜💜💜
What a nice thing to do. Teachers often don't get the respect they deserve. Cindy Davis is a class act.
Love the super shiny apple!!! Happy birthday!!! 💕🍎 😂👍 🎂🎉🎶
Mark & Emy Shibukawa I
What a beautiful moment for a teacher and student... ♡♡♡
Yes 💙 And a beautiful moment for humanity, remembering those who helped you and paying it forward 🙏
That brought tears to my eyes, the world needs way more of these things.
Sweet people make it hard to quit trying. Bless you all.😊
The influence of a kind, thoughtful teacher .... and the impact of a creative, thoughtful "thank you".
Very nice. I think of all the teachers who had a role in school. So many come to mind
How this student turned out is the best compliment to the teacher
God bless this brought me tears. I too had a amazing teacher in 3rd grade when my family had problems. She gave me hope . I hope to find her .Mrs Lea st Margaret Mary. 1983.
Wow! Who would dislike this?
it is stupid that what was supposed to be "normal" in old days, became something extraordinary and newsworthy these days ...
I don't get the disliking either, but that's their opinion.
lots of us who know teachers better. the old hag was a Hillary and Obama supporter.
Edward White wait, so how good a teacher is or was when you went to school depends on who they vote for? Interesting I always thought how good a teacher was depended on how she or he treated their students, what they did for them, how much they cared about them. People's logic this day is unbelievable.
A good lesson for all school teaches to watch this , remember children grow into adults, wonderful video
John, and a better lesson for students. Find the teachers who helped you and thank them.
She pay back her former 3rd grade teacher with a beautiful memories and a birthday cake! Congratulations!
A+ for that! Just beautiful! God bless them both!
Peace, Lynne 🍃💜🍃
Great Story, i still keep in touch with my 6th class teacher, Mr kelly from Gladesville Public School , Sydney Australia, 1970 , 51 years ago, he was the best teacher, a kid could possibly ask for, and have alway's had great respect for this man, Vaughn Kelley .
God Bless you, Cindy. For remembering your Teacher.
When you are the student, you truly never understand until later the impact a teacher can have on you. Sometimes we realize these things too late. So happy, this student was able to find and thank her teacher. But I'm not crying!!!!!!
God bless you both! Jim
PS....thanks for sharing.......
Your mom must have been a very kind lady 🙌🏻✝️😊
A good teacher is the norm, a great teacher is PRICELESS
Very emotional.
Heart-softening.
This was soooo sweet and thoughtful.
Wowww, love the story...God Bless all of our teachers
I see two winners in life. ❤️
It's an important relation for many, that between a student and a teacher. Next week my mother, who is 85, will congratulate her teacher on his 100th birthday. She had him as a teacher between the ages 11-13. He's still in pretty good shape and they have had contact most of her life.
Wow, now that's a movie script. How did it go?
Bill Wilson lmao
Alisha Zuberi: I posted nothing funny.
Bill Wilson why did you say "wow, now that's a movie script"?
Alisha Zuberi: Thanks for asking. I just think it would make a sweet, Hallmark type of movie. To keep in contact with someone for over seven decades is rather amazing - that a teacher and student have kept in touch is extra amazing.
Of course, in the movie they'd probably have the two get married eventually.
BTW, I like the name Alisha :-)
THAT story above...and the police officer story just below...was just plain great....how great it is to be an American. .
Thank you 💙
Natalie: Have you yet done it? How did it go? Do not put it off.
@@hellurmoto3163 Did you meet up with your teacher yet? God bless you!
Peace, Lynne 🍃💜🍃
Wow ! And a Happy Birthday to the both of you .
This was soo lovely and the reaction was heart touching, while watching this my eyes were filled with happy tears 🥺❤️, loved it
Good teacher always a get a good reward from lovable students
My 4th grade teacher was a sister to me and it’s hard that I won’t get to see her anymore. I always look back at my yearbook and cry because I miss her so much. She was always there for me and now that I’m going to middle school, I won’t have her on my side anymore. 😭😭😭
Marvellous feedback after all those years. I recall a student of mine in China brighterning up after some positive feedback from me; Her words: 'Rob you really like us don't you!'
Mrs. Norton, my 4th-grade teacher, was my all-time best teacher. I miss her.
Mary Triplett you should be proud of your grandma
Mohd Firuz Bin Ali I am extremely proud of Grandma my head and I wish to God that she was still here today but I think there's you can still teach me a lot that I need to know especially when it comes to math and science I worst two subjects in school
Mary Triplett: I thank you for your service. In a way, teachers can be first responders.
This is the way to make the world a better place!
A great teacher can make a huge impact on a young persons life.
My maiden name back in the day was Peggy Black, encase anybody knows who this teacher is, and I as his student back then.
Peggy Mitchell: Have you tried contacting Thomas Kelly Elementary School or the San Juan Unified School District? They MIGHT know of Mr. Antonio Damiani whereabouts? Good luck. I hope you find him. It would mean a lot to him to hear from you.
Did you ever reach out to Mr Damiani? I just looked him up and he's still alive and is 83 years old.
@@kerrytaylor1795 I have tried finding him many times thru the years!!!
Can you forward me anything to direct me to him?
Amazing teacher!
I want him to know how much he inspired me as a child into adulthood.
I'm 59 now.
You got me excited!
Is it really him?
I just tried looking him up again.
Nothing.
But Thank you!
That was a great story! Thank you for sharing!
I hope everyone has Always has one person, especially. Who has inspired them. And I thank those few Who have inspired me....
how lucky if all of us had a teacher like that at some point
Teachers are very special people.
Yup, there is one I think of often, and especially when experiencing doubt. I remember the words that helped me then and with the rest if my life..
I am 38 and have a four kids myself grades 8-graduation. I still talk occasionally to my fourth grade and first grade teachers I had growing up. I was going through a very difficult situation at home and those teachers loved me and looked after me and I will never forget them. I remind them often of what a gift they were to me.
