we fly out of DCA and BWI regularly. Clear is amazing especially added to TSA precheck. I used to be a non-believer, but now that TSA precheck lines are getting longer and longer, Clear has been very helpful especially with avoiding the long lines and the need to get to the airport hours in advance. And our kids automatically get TSA precheck when we travel without them having their own TSA numbers.
Such a good point with the kids! I agree the TSA precheck lines are getting longer. Thanks again for watching and commenting. Appreciate your travel advice!
I live in UK for past 8 year and visit family and friends in the US few times a year. Just finally got global entry and I’m excited to use it mostly for tsa pre check
One recent data point: My Global Entry expired during Covid and I reapplied about a year ago and am still waiting for an interview. My husband's Global Entry is still active. Returning from overseas last Sunday, I used the MPC app and got through about 5 minutes faster than my husband got through with Global Entry.
Great insight! You applied for global entry over a year ago and are still waiting...wow! I have heard that the interview process for Global Entry takes a while. That Mobile Passport Control app is such a great tool. I think it is very underutilized by travelers. Really appreciate the thoughtful comment! Thanks for the support.
Right now with so many people having Global Entry, the GE lines are sometimes longer than the MPC lines. I have GE and opted to use MPC instead on a recent trip
Thanks for the thoughtful comment! Mobile Passport Control is really a must have. It is so easy. Always nice to have Global Entry as an additional option though. Thanks again for the comment.
If you have both GE and the MPC app use only 1 of them when returning to the USA. If you enter info in both you will delay your entry due to officials having to sort out which applies and who you are. Re: TSA Precheck , technically, even though you have paid for it, there is no guarantee TSA Precheck will be applied to your boarding pass.
Went for my Global Entry interview very nervous about what questions they were gonna ask. I sat down with the officer, he typed in a few things into his computer, and then held up a webcam. After taking my picture, he said I would get my card in a couple of weeks. NOT A SINGLE QUESTION WAS ASKED! Guess I was the least threatening person possible!
That is amazing! How long did it take for your to get your Global Entry interview? A few people have said that it took them over a year. Thanks for the thoughtful and kind comment.
I found clear wasn’t worth the money and I opted not to renew it. I try to take early flights. IF the airport you are departing from has Clear, I found that there weren’t Clear representatives there in the early mornings.
Interesting observation. I agree with you on Clear. We had it for a year, but decided it was not worth the benefit it provided with the amount we traveled.
Global Entry? You can also be a citizen of an EU country, live in an EU country and be treated like a citizen, instead of an immigrant in your own country, jajajajajaja.

I don't understand. Who doesn't like to put a belt and shoes back on at the end of a busy line?
