JIMMY! NO. You dont need another rescue plane! NO, now put that idea out of your head young man!
Just read the title and thought: What could possibly go wrong?
With Jimmy......how much time do we have to list things off. Lol
Everything. And that's why we're here
After your 1/4 million dollar purchase of the Elvis jet you’d think you would have come to your senses. 😂.
It isn't a 'FISHBED'- that's the single seater. What you have here is a 'MONGOL', the UM trainer.
Mig 21 is FOXBAT not Fishbed
Correction Mig25 n0t FOXBAT. That wasthe Mig 25/ My Bad
Poteto potato. A two seater f-18 doesn't stop from been an f-18
MiG21US former Vietnamese Air Force
@@lcfflc3887 yes but it was the F-18B/D
Years ago at Oshkosh there was a Chinese MiG-21 flying demonstrations and his take-off routine was to roll at full throttle until he got to one of the landing lights along the runway where he would light the afterburner. These are single stage units and they make a VERY loud explosive THUMP! when they fire up. I saw him take off all week and along the runway spectators weren't anticipating the explosion from the burner and small children were always being knocked over by it.
One evening I met the pilot and mentioned to him about the little kids going flying when he lit the burner and he laughed and said he'd have to watch for that next take-off. Which he did and found it hilarious. VERY rude and crude aircraft that up close has amazingly rough construction...but they worked well enough to do the job at hand.
@@recoilrob324 is like Peppa Pig and we all get to laughing and fall down
Only the MiG-21 BIS produced 21k lbs thrust. The plane you're looking at probably only produces 17k lbs or even as low as 13 k. Man that's like $12,000 for an hours worth of fuel or $3 per second in fuel.
The exact model of this MiG-21 is the MiG-21 F-13 which has a after burner thrust of 5010 kgf (11,045 lbs of thrust)
The neighbors Corvette has nothing on this! Makes me want to get one and park it in the driveway 😉
My friends highschool an elementary school now has a F 84 thunderstreak as a mascot The Enka NC jet pretty cool
@@Carlos-r5n2bthat's awesome 👍😎
Hope you don't have an HOA!
@@KutWrite nope, could never live in a communist neighborhood, this is America 😉🤣😂🤣
@@FunWithCars716 I agree, though I'd call it fascist.
I mean, we’ve restored planes from the bottom of river beds, I’m more than confident with some love this thing could fly
Maybe a cockpit switch or lever.
The planes from the bottom of river beds are a touch bit simpler. Like a Ship of Theseus.. a lot of the aluminum panels are completely replaced.
This is far too complex.
@@calvinnickel9995 I mean with a plane on the bottom of the ocean you don’t have much to go off of, so yea, it would be like building it from scratch mostly
But with this, it’s mostly intact other than probably the engine
Consider creating "Jimmys World air museum" a history of outstandingly bad financial decisions, the possibilities are endless.
That's my home towns air museum! I've been there a few times since I was a kid. That mig, and the f104 sitting fairly close to each other always use to blow my mind because they didn't care if you touched it, and got under it.... Or ya know... As a kid stick your head in the exhaust haha lot of good memories with that mig.
I’m patiently waiting on update videos about the T-6 and MiG 15 😊
I knew an old rich guy who started the War Eagles Air Museum in Santa Teresa,New Mexico. He bought retired squadrons of Mig-17's and 21's from countries like that, and traded most to buy other aircraft for his museum. His personal airplane that he and his wife flew around the US in was a Cessna 425,which I flew from Wichita to his museum to work on a couple of times.
1:46 4,500 gallons per hour = 75 gallons per minute, 1.25 gallons per second. Those figures are probably the rate in full afterburner, not cruise rate.
Since Nigeria is across the Atlantic at ~6K miles and you get~300 miles (one way) per flight, what could possibly go wrong?
great dinghy for the Elvis jet / bus
Jimmy what happened to the Mid15 & T6 you Bought ?
0:45 Jet engine thrust is measured in pounds, not pound feet.
Pounds-force.. as written lbf. Pounds is weight.
@@calvinnickel9995 Incorrect. As I said, jet engine thrust is measured in pounds (lbs). There's no such thing as pounds-force.
2:09 "That goes in there a long way!"
*Thats what she said*
I had to, sorry 😂
The best jet ever built.Only few pilots can really use it because thus jet it' s really NO MERCY!
Just about.
The Mig 21 was the world’s premier fighter for 20 years. The F-16 was built specifically to beat it and a Mig-21BIS was actually as good in the horizontal and slightly superior in the vertical than an A model F-16 due to its insane thrust to weight ratio. Of course later F-16s perform better and have much better weapons and sensors.. the F-16 being at the beginning of its development cycle vs the Mig-21 being at the pinnacle of it.
Mikoyan itself wouldn’t beat its own creation until the Mig-29.
Call your Nigerian Banker, Jimmy.
Good for target practice if you’re flying a Phantom. Well you can make believe your firing live ammo.
A reliable workhorse. Much respect.
Got a call from a Nigerian prince who was trying to get his Air Force out of the country. All he needed was $1000 to clear customs so I helped him out. Waiting for a thank you.
This is at the Addison Air Museum looked at this plane myself pretty cool
I just started seeing you on Facebook. I just subscribed and love the videos. I got my private pilot license in 97. I got busy raising my two daughters after my wife passed away in 08. Now, I have just started going back to the airport to see all my old pilot friends. My very first Instructor and good friend just bought a 6 cylinder Cessna 172. Not sure how long it would take to get me current again. I need to get a pilot medical first. Love the content
Jimmy, don't do it, don't do it, don't do it. No No NO!!! Remember, without ammunition the Air Force would be just an expensive flying club. Love your channel.
Nigeria is due east jimmy😂😂
More than 155 miles though , last time I looked, so they wouldn't get to Florida !
Jimmy, what about the MIG15, T6, 421, 310???? Getting to be too many projects here.
I see that as Jimmy's childlike side. Easily distracted by shiny objects. I suspect his wife grounds him when these itches strike.
Of course that's one thing that makes him interesting... probably to her, too. And especially to his kids!
@@KutWrite LOL, I got grounded from playing with a friend when I came home REALLY Drunk, wife didn't like that.
Aww the museum was a nice little day trip when I was down there visiting friends
After a Mountain Dew and some Chik-fil-a, I'm sure Jimmy will come to his senses. Dear God I hope so. :)
Fly it!!!
You need to get my favorite fighter plane "the Corsair" aka Whistling Death! Jimmy! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I want that one aswell
I like all the leaves and debris at the bottom of the engine on the MIG-21...maybe it won't fly much more with that engine or any other engine for that matter :-)
Greg Shepard is the big MiG guru there in Florida. He’s restored MiG-15’s, -17’s and a MiG-21 back to flight status. You should hit him up and see what he has in his hangar!
What happened to the other old jet you bought? This one doesn't fly.
Hey I saw that plane before at an air museum. but sadly they are closing
In China and some parts of the eastern block these things were abandoned in kids playgrounds and used as play structures. I haven't seen one in a kids playground recently - so presumably they've been chucked out. I think paying 50k for playground scrap is probably a bit on the high end - you might want to negotiate for a better price - like zero.
0:45 LBF is the force exerted by a pound mass on Earth's surface. It is not pound feet as you said which is a torque measurement
Holy cow this is Cavanaugh air flight museum!! I volunteered there for over half a decade. Man I miss Addison Texas.. that's also the airport I took my flight lessons from- monarch air flight school is right next to the museum-
All the Russian planes were my babies I was in charge of.. I'm from Russia so it only made sense and yes I also adopted even the polish Iskra.
This is a Mig-21UM originally polish if my memory serves me right that got repainted into Vietnamese colors though if I'm not mistaken Vietnamese were never delivered training versions strictly single combat seaters as they either trained in Moscow or China before being sent to their units. MiG-21 were used extremely sparingly and it is said that the kill loss ratio was actually in the MiG-21 favor of 4 to 1.
Edit: small correction 🥸🇷🇺over 11,400 were produced from 1959-1985 or 26 years. So even if from 1966-1984 or 18 years half were lost that would mean over 200 aircraft per year as 438 were made annually. That statistic is made up and doesn't make any sense.
2:39 now THOSE are super-sonic bees!
Looks like a great jimmy buy!
What ever happened to the MIG-15 from a year ago?
Thrust is a force. POUNDS not pound - feet
The unit of force is Newton.
@antondichtl6557
And the unit of force is pounds-force. As written in the caption “lbf”.
Just what you need another tapped out aircraft. Cmon Jimmy
Jimmy you are crazy!!! I know you're having fun!!!
Now I might start watching this channel.
Wait didn't he already buy a mig?
Love your videos man, keep doing what you’re doing! 😊
Be strong enough to be honest and kind
probably my fav cold war jet
Sorry off topic.
Jimmy, Mentour Now! has a video "Airliners as private-jets, Smart or Dumb?!"
At 2:15 think it shows Elvis entering the plane.
There is an airworthy one flying regularly at Signature KPIE.
They can spit out FOD too. Unique to Soviet vs. American aircraft.
Jimmy Nigeria is roughly 5000 miles from Florida and only about 200 miles where I am. But either I do not want them. No mileage
Looks like a divorce to me😂
Did you see the 3 Beechcraft Starships based there in Addison?
Bro i saw that one on a plane sale app once, i couldn't believe it, but im still not 18 so, saddly, i couldn't buy it. ):
Even today a very capable fighter jet
The crazy thing about a globe planet... is the distance of Florida->Nigeria > Maine->Nigeria.
They probably all crashed trying to intercept SR-71's!
There's a guy in Reno that could probably hook you up with all the pieces to get it airworthy...
Is that nozzle movable with speed?
Jimmy how can you afford these planes? Just wondering 😮
Nice Video 👍
Bro i saw this one on Aviation trader
Funny, Was sitting in the fire station in mid to late 80's I think. I see an ad for Mig 21's. In crates delivered to New York, $50,000.00 dollars. My co -worker called and asked how many they had,,, the guy says "How many do you want????"
So basically you are sitting on top of a lit rocket. Lol
It’s only over the Atlantic. It’s not like your have to cross the pacific ocean
You should make a mig-21 super car to match your RV
9 minutes to get to 60,000ft? 🧐 c 172 can do that!!
I know the Saab Viggen was quoted as "going from the runway standing still with the brakes locked, to mach 0.9 at 10 000 meter (just under 33 000 feet) in 100 seconds."
Not sure if it is entirely true as I heard another Viggen pilot claim that for him it was 2 minutes to do the same thing. But either way somewhere around 100 seconds, and one has to remember that the different versions of the Viggen had different engines.
More like 9 minutes to 6,000 ft ....
How’s the plane you swamped the car for and how the private twin engine you bought for you and the family and the silver bullet
"pound feet of thrust" ... lol, I think you'll find it is pounds force of thrust ... foot-pounds is torque, pounds force is thrust.
Really who cares it goes over 1000MPH 😅 and your face pulls faces like this from the Gs🥴😱🤧🤣
Pound sand.
*Pound-foot of torque* ...not "foot-pounds" since you want to play Karen and wrongly correct Jimmy, I'll correct, you.
@@182QKFTW Nope, torque in backwards countries is still measured in foot-pounds, the rest of us use Newton metres. Nowhere (not even the USA) use pound-foot.
@@itsverygreen532 You are simply wrong There is foot-pound, *AND Pound -Feet* They have different meaning. And if it wasn't for our country, yours would ruled by Communists or the Naz
This would be no different than buying a $30k Ferrari or Lamborghini sure $50k jet, but with $500k to over a mill in repair, certifications, insurance and other maintenance costs. I may not own a jet but have been flying for 40yrs (since 17yrs old) as a private pilot who worked up from a Cessna 170 to my current ride a Cirrus SR22 GTS-X G3 which was fairly new when I got it, but with insurance, maintenance and other fees? Can get expensive very fast.
Cool Jimmy, keep your eyes wide open! Chuckle....
A4 Skyhawk, that plane was painted in homage to the A4Q of the Argentine Navy that fought in the Malvinas, the owner is in prison so I guess that's why they put it up for sale
And the other Skyhawk is in tribute to the Argentine Air Force and I think it also belongs to the same owner, which is why it is unfinished.
is there a website for this with tanks?
That's 21,000 pounds-force of thrust, not pounds-feet (which is a measure of torque).
Nigeria to Florida is a LOT of 155mi. legs! (EDIT: It's ~39 legs...fuel burn for the squadron is more math than I want to think about!!!)
That’s at my FBOs airport
I met you last time you came to Million Air there 👌🏻 awesome
very cool!
I drive a 2002 pt cruiser. And it runs!
I drive a 2002 pt cruiser. And it runs!
That's crazy they're selling off all these aircraft and aircraft projects what the hell...
lmao who extended the airbrake while there's a droptank, that must've bent a few pins
Any idea what a A6 intruder would go for?
Jimmy I think your getting a little off track on this one. Whatever happened to save the 310?
Try to make it fly again
Your gonna need a bigger TH-cam channel !
Hahahahaha!!!!
When you get bullied at school this is what you hope your parents will pull up in at the end of the day to pick you up.
Mig a nice jet but not as quick as the English electric lightning which still holds the record for the fastest clim
Is it safe to fly ?
$1 and they take care of shipping to my door lmao 🤣😂🤣😂
A lot of the factoids you're spoon feeding us are given way out of context like the 4500gal/hr burn rate is the burn rate in full AB, but the AB assembly is fed from its own stand-alone tank which is replenshed with its own pump from the main fuel cells. This tank is exhausted after something like 30 seconds of continuous AB use. On internal fuel alone and without AB you have about 45 minutes of flight time.
Lets see 4501 x $8.21 (California summer blend) is $37,000.00 per hour after you spend a million for the airworthiness certificate. I wonder if the DMV can help? And NO Jimmy, this would make a very small motorhome bus.
Hang on, what happened to Mig-15?
You should have bought the Falcon
I'm sure you know about the F14s that the Iranian's have but can't find parts for. They were purchased by Iran before the revolution but after the revolution the US put a ban on selling parts to Iran. I wonder if you could get a deal on 3 or 4 of them. 3 or 4 might make one flyable bird.
God, please be careful... those are not trivial tor fly
Do you think my HOA would allow this?
Well if you have the money for maintenance and fuel you can legally fly it
Just what Jimmy needs... another highly efficient money to noise converter....
If you were to buy it, simply remove the "Static Display Sticker" 🙂
how much run way do i need and can i get that delivered?
