I have my own cup called the loyal cup It's big, clean, and keeps heat for a long time, and I can use it a thousand times for free Also you can put it in your bags
honestly i think this one might work. even the compostable part. i can compost and entire amazon delivery box including the tape. box will break down in like a month since its just cardboard. the tape takes longer but its just paper and thread with a starch based adhesive. this cup may takes several months but i can see it composting fine
I like it. I think one drawback is that you pretty much have to drink out of it closed I don't think you'd want to try and sip from it open. To be honest lids aren't perfect anyway, they can pop off, they'll leak.
The sticker to seal it is an issue. It means if you want to add creamer or sugar yourself and not have the barista do it you'll have a loose flap. I think a bigger step would be to have places like Starbucks put cold drinks in paper cups. That would reduce more plastic than anything else. We always drank cold drinks in paper cups until the 90's. It's nothing crazy and easy to transition to.
It amazes me that we already have the solution to this, but everyone is like "no, we need a new, startup-created, futuristic solution". Plastic. Most plastics are infinitely recyclable. Stop making things food and liquids go in, WATER SOLUBLE!
I bought a pack of plastic straws from asia, i carry a plastic straw around in my pocket and reuse it. When im finished i cut it up. This is safer than a steel straw. straws are only a problem because of the people throw them away .
You are missing the whole point of paper straws: It is an instrument to measure how people are able to comply to a lower quality life because of what media told them to. You are smart but so unaware. It hurts.
If we can make cups out of cardboard, why then, can we not make the lids for said cups out of crushed & compacted cardboard as well? I don't understand...
That’s a good question but I have an answer. Simply put… the design. It’s cheaper and easier to make those molds for the lids. Think about what the top of a plastic lid looks like. Logos, small text, design ect. Hard to do that with cardboard
@@lifeofmike556 why would logos, small text, etc be difficult to put on cardboard lids? It can be put on like braille dots or text can be written on by the staff.
@@FaithFallRepentGraceRepeat the two piece design requires some seal. Paper lid on paper cup does not seal without other mating material such as rubber. Needs some elasticity; plastic lid provides that. Now the one piece paper design could work as there is no need to seal multiple pieces.
That's a good argument you gave, and when it's not bio degradable fast there's a big chance it won't be good for your health on the long term, but so are plastic coatings in the paper cups. If your not shure it's safer to use a normal porcelain cup
It's very hard to replace plastic straws because they are so cheap, and there is not much that could be done to change the design .... But plastic cups, there is a lot that could be done to improve the design, and the new design could use different materials. Hopefully the inventor won't patent the thing.
coffee cups themselves have microplastics which leach into your coffee when you drink from it. this is why milk cartons go with the plastic in recycling.
When we switch to paper from styrofoam at work the cup burns my hand I started using two cups. At least once or twice a week. My hand is in pain by the time I get to my office.

@@taylor1038 exactly, you can’t make transparent paper
@@Towelie- aaactually many paper bags already have transparent cellulose sections, it's still paper
It doesn’t use a sticker to seal it
It's 100% possible, I am a printing ink techie with 35 years experience, completely possible and bio-degradable. The world is changing fast
Sometimes I take the lid off so it cools faster if it's too hot to drink.
It doesn't look like you could close this backup again.

So smart!
The taste of paper will completely ruine the taste of coffee.. Just imagine drinking off of a paper straw but bigger.
The ö ö in the good tho
Bring it to timmies i want an iced coffee vesion 😂
You wouldn't wanna hurt the coffee, would ya ⁉️
Yeah 20% of my cup tops leak, I cant fix it and it just ruins the experience
What do do you prefer, plastic straws wrapped in paper or paper straws wrapped in plastic. 🤣
I don't order drinks at restaurants that do paper straws
this is what chinese take out looks like... with a small hole very creative.

I don't understand why they don't just coat the paper straws with a wax. Both can be reused.
So a Chinese bag design but cup
Paper straws are definitely offensive.
Double use; fast food French fry holder lol 🍟
So it's basically a noodle box?
Nice ❤❤
It's not even non degradable 😆
Wondering about the corners where the lid folds looks like a potential leak.

Even a fkin pasta tube would be better than a paper straw... lol
DO AN UNBOXING OF THE CUP!!!! ☕️
Lol for sure it has a couple of layers of Polyethylene, laminated with paper. So it is impossible to recycle.
For straws they could just have the top 1 inch and bottom 1 inch be the real plastic and the rest can be anytihng
That design still has problems with the non plastic part of the straw breaking down
Why aren't you making new videos? Dis you stop working? Are you OK?
Answers are normally simple , but people don't want simple and don't want answers.
The question is if it’s really made in Germany, if they can’t just claim it. The EU rules wouldn’t allow it to go out untested.
a lomei box made to a tech headline 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂

They might as well include the straw in the cup

I've seen some restaurant in europe giving straws made of pasta and I feel that's the best implementation ever.
